I recently built a friend a entry level gaming pc as a gift. Used a i7 6700, 16gb of ram, 240gb ssd and a 1tb HDD. Gpu I went with for him was a Evga GTX 1060 6gb. @@burgerking-ey3uv I had all the parts on hand already except for the i7 6700, a cpu cooler, and the GTX 1060 6gb. I hoard parts, including gpu, motherboards, ram etc. I have stuff going back to Athlon 64/Geforce FX/Radeon 9800 Pro era. Was going to give him a RX 470 4gb I have on hand, but RX 400/500/Vega series have issues with Plague Tale:Requiem, so bumping him up to the 1060 6gb ensured he could play that game without visual issues. The cost of the cpu, cooler, and 1060 6gb put me out of pocket maybe $130 total.
Yeah honestly. I still really like my 800-1000$ 3060ti (240$) 64 gb vram (140$), 2-4 tb m2 ssd with 5000 mb/s speeds. (70$ for 2 tb intel drive, and 2tb from old ssds lying around). I do kinda feel like for my pc, there's a set cost of around 300-400$ just for the frame, body, and motherboard (Unless you want to put a graphics card into a 100$ + monitor ddr3 build...). I spent like 100$ on a 13100 intel cpu, i might have overspent 140$ vs 60-80$ for the motherboard (Intel's cpu was 10$ cheaper, but the board might have been 120$ to 80$. I might have paid +40$ for 64 gb 160$ ddr5 vs 120$ ddr4) But i still love my pc. It's god amazing getting a literal 5x more performance and i bought it since my old pre gpu shortage 1000$ 64 gb ram, 2 tb ssd laptop only had a welded on 4gb 1650. (aka, brand new 1000$ computer with a 150$ graphics card. It was legitimately the best i could find in 100 store models, with costco offering 1600$ models for 8->16 gb ram.. 512 gb ssd, and no graphics card.. Just 50% slower intel xe.) I did notice heat went up a lot to a little toaster oven even going from 80 watts to 220 watts on my 3060ti. But i swear some overclock, i saw underclocking in the nvidia alt + z menu.. And i can get 70-80% of the performance for 50% the watts getting 150-200 fps on 100 watts when i just want to game without heat or leave it genning stable diffusion all night without worrying about card stress on 70 C vs 45C temps. (I didn't really think about heat, but it's like a little furnace going off, the metal case is oven hot to the touch though the fans work so well, it cools from 70C to 40C in 5 seconds of inactivity). At first i was skeptical of pc building.. But legitimately.. Open store boxes are such a scam. I still had to spend 4-6 hours putting all the parts together vs 1-3 as a first timer (didn't want to ruin any parts).. But no lie... It costs 1600-3000$ to get 20 gb ram from a store and a shitty graphics card with a shitty 512-1 tb ssd.. It cost me a third to get 3x more ram, (64 might be overkill), it runs butter smooth. i can underclock to get 80% of performance for half the electricity (and 45C vs 70C), the fans are beastly. And i can really see this pc lasting me 6-10 years with maybe a gpu replacement for another 200 fps specs in 5-7 years for 300-500$ while a new computer easily can run 500-1000$ for a 20-54 fps model... There's a lot of headache sure.. But building a pc meant to last and getting 5x more fps performance for cost, 4x-8x more storage for cost, 2-3x more ram, and upgradable for the same price rocks!!!!
@@TiLaDn i really dont know man, i dont know what that means, i just know some parts and i know how to put them together and install windows. Idk anything else
It would be great if you can show us not just how to "start" cheap, but whether by how much this pc is capable of upgrading up to I know I can just look up the motherboard and its compatibility, but it would be nice to know right on way on your video.
The AM4 platform is very upgradable. You could literally upgrade your cpu to any Ryzen cpu except for any Ryzen 7000 series. The only other problem would be the power supply if you decide to go anything above an RTX 3060.
Just so that you know, this GPU may be old however COD runs great and I’ve managed to hit 5 no scopes in a game with ease. This can confirm it’s a great card on a budget for it
id recommend buying the ac version of the board and upgrade to a 1660 super because it adds wifi and bluetooth aswell as a better gpu for relatively the same price
Why don't you just use the extra 21 dollars on a fully modular PSU instead of extensions? I'm pretty sure you can also get higher wattage as well. Good video I'm using this to flip
He's being super cheap so he can maximize profits. 1TB nvme's are $35 all day long but he doesn't want to spend the extra $7. I wouldn't buy any of his builds just on that alone. 500GB is nothing these days.
@@itsatrap4986Hey! I'm looking into buying a PC... I've never had desktop before. I'm thinking of buying a PC based on the build he showed here. Is there something specific that would make this a decent build?
@@phoenixmorphix Are you looking for a custom build or prebuilt that's similar to this? I'd would change out to a better rated power supply unit with the money saved from the extension cables and up the NVME capacity to 1TB minimum. 1) Better and/or higher wattage capacity for higher end GPU upgrades 2) NVMEs are dirt cheap - $65 for 2TB. 1TB minimum or 2TB if budget allows.
@@phoenixmorphix Yeah no problem. One more thing abOut the PSU, it's a C rated unit it's fine for what it is. Save the money for a better GPU. I'd skip the 1060 6GB, go with a RX 580 8GB or 1070/1070ti, 5700XT, 5700XT if you're going the used route.
8:04 i think the reason people think its awful, is because the gtx 1050 is awful, and they imagine that the 1060 cant be much better, but that couldn't be further from the truth
I always wanted a PC and probably could of out $2000 into one, but i feel like you don’t need to do that even though don’t you have to change parts or upgrade eventually ?
I had a 1050ti and that was a beast for a year for me then i started to get bored being limited to what I could play so I went to a 2080 it was the best decision I made
if u dont mind settling for a a320m-k mainboard (it will work just as well, got the same paired with an RX 6650XT + 32gb ram + ryzen 7 5700G , then you can even get it for 50 euros (dollars) since it is literally the same Mainboard and even looks the same apart from the chipset

So here it is: Ryzen 5 5600x, Asus dual Radeon rx 7600 xt OC 16g, 32gb ddr4 Corsair Vengeance rgb pro 3600, msi mag B550 Tomahawk MAX, EVGA 850bq 80+ bronze 850w, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO cpu air cooler, Fanxiang 2tb m.2 ssd, and for case NZXT H6 Flow which comes with 3 fans that I will have at the front for intake, and a pack of 3 Thermalright TL-C12C-S X3 120mm fans on top for exhaust.
hey big youtuber man, you posted the cpu link twice. will recommend this build to my friend though, he's in desperate need of an upgrade. thanks big youtuber man.
I've got zero experience with buidling or even buying a gaming pc. This looks great to build, but how about the parts? Are they easy to upgrade to a better version?
how did u reroute the reset switch because someone stuck there finger in one of the fans when helping me build it and now the rgb wont turn on and it doesn't show up in the bios
Umm. Couldn't painting the cpu cooler mess a ton with the thermal dissipation or possibly fry a computer (if you let any paint drip onto any delicate parts, or if the paint melted or degraded over time?) I admit im not a expert, but newegg usually has a lot of models to shop around for. It's probably easier and safer to shop around on newegg for a model you like. And while i got like a 1000$ computer, i don't really feel like the cpu gets very hot relative to the gpu. (Though, i did spend 10$ on 7x more heat transfer thermal paste meant for overclocking, 15 W/m^2 or something vs 1.7 W/m^2 or something for 10$). And it sits super cool just being superchilled by the metal heat sink (fan barely runs at all and it's cozy). But i mean.. I might have overdone it a lil. I think like cpu gaming is like 80% your graphics card, 10% your ram, and 4-5% your cpu (unless bottlenecked). I think i did like a Intel 13100 (If i rebuilt today, the 12100 is 98% the performance for 100$ vs 110$ and fairly decent bang for buck on 1-4 core performance until 8 core). I still like having a fancy ass cooler though. I guess the 13100 from best buy came with a stock cooler (despite 0 mention), and im happy with the massive heatsinks potentially cooling it 4x better passively with the coconut vs mandarin sized heat plate dissipation and the super thermal paste. I still would feel a little hesitant about spray painting though since just 1 thing goes wrong.. and frying a 1000$ computer to paint the insides a different color just gives me a lil gulp. (Or potentially frying their whole pc if the paint kept too much heat in / ruined thermal conductivity/degraded under heat). To each their own though!
You should check out the Asrock B550m Pro4, or B450m Pro4. They're excellent sub $100 mobos. The B450m Pro4 with the 5.20 bios update will run any AM4 CPU/APU except the 'Bristol Ridge' series. I can't stand fish-tank cases. If that case were available with large hole mesh panels in place of the glass panels it would have my interest.

if anyone wants to build this in 2024 for any reason, I would go for a good motherboard (with a focus on more vrms mosfets, m2 nvme slots and if it is possible USB latest possible generation and PCIe 4 instead of PCIe 3, 16 lanes instead of 8 lanes (100-120$) possibly RAM and a good power supply. if it ever comes to the upgrade request, So you already have something solid. On the used market, more and more good cups and GPUs are found because they are starting to switch to am5 more and more. just my opinion

The cost of the cpu, cooler, and 1060 6gb put me out of pocket maybe $130 total.
finally somebody who knows what a budget is😭
REAL
For under $400 that's a really good gaming PC.
I might have paid +40$ for 64 gb 160$ ddr5 vs 120$ ddr4)
But i still love my pc. Just 50% slower intel xe.)
I did notice heat went up a lot to a little toaster oven even going from 80 watts to 220 watts on my 3060ti.
@ZachsTech. errm, am in the UK, shipping costs would be crazy, thanks anyway but give it to someone else.

Lol
I can buy this now for about $403 but with Christmas and Black Friday soon I might buy it later for cheap
I absolutly love this build! It gave me directions to build my own, but i'm gonna use rx 580 8gb because its better on both price and performance.
Did you use a dual rx 580 if not which one did you use thanks.
@@TiLaDn i really dont know man, i dont know what that means, i just know some parts and i know how to put them together and install windows. Idk anything else
@@TiLaDn btw happy new year
You too, and thanks for letting me know.
he’s asking how many fans are under the card i’m guessing ?
I’m thinking of building a pc using all these specs thank you
how is it? what fps does it run
It would be great if you can show us not just how to "start" cheap, but whether by how much this pc is capable of upgrading up to
I know I can just look up the motherboard and its compatibility, but it would be nice to know right on way on your video.
This can confirm it’s a great card on a budget for it
how about rainbow six siege?
How many fps ?
rainbow runs on a toaster@@iminstinct3909
lil update, people are reselling the 1060 for a fortune. it takes about 500 dollars to fully complete the build.
Fudge i just found what I'm gonna build for my son 😊 Thank you!
@ZachsTech.. lmao I'm not stupid but nice try 😂
How did it work
Before I got a new build with a ryzen 7 5600x and rx 6700xt I had the ryzen 5 3600 paired with a gigabyte rtx 3050 and it ran pretty dang good
"Tougher to won runs" 9:54
This video helped me a lot with building my pc
Tysm,in the future ill soon can build one like yours ❤
id recommend buying the ac version of the board and upgrade to a 1660 super because it adds wifi and bluetooth aswell as a better gpu for relatively the same price
1) Better and/or higher wattage capacity for higher end GPU upgrades
2) NVMEs are dirt cheap - $65 for 2TB. 1TB minimum or 2TB if budget allows.
@@itsatrap4986 Hey! I'm looking for a build similar... Thank you for the advice! I'll keep this in mind!
The "what the f**k is that" sound perfectly describes me trying to find a PSU rn
This pc with the Wraith Prism selling for like 20-40 bucks would look amazing and get just as good cooling as aftermarket air cooler
I always wanted a PC and probably could of out $2000 into one, but i feel like you don’t need to do that even though don’t you have to change parts or upgrade eventually ?

Idk too much about pc builds and specs lol. I loved this budget build! Could you please show a budget build for playing Sims? Maybe $900 or less
sims is a laptop game you don’t need a expensive computer for that
you can play sims on a potato
When my sister had a 20 year old dell computer it ra the Sims on all high settings at 60 FPS and tgta 5 couldn't even start with that pc
I had a 1050ti and that was a beast for a year for me then i started to get bored being limited to what I could play so I went to a 2080 it was the best decision I made
I was looking for a good affordable pc and this was the vid
Amazing Video!
this was SUPER helpful that you so much 😊
The missing bracket(hole) is for the networks card.. obviously. Thoughts on motherboard with vs without wifi built in?
how does the RGB stay blue, mine keep changing every 5 seconds
Hey I would like to buy the stuff, but the links don't work bc of geni.
if u dont mind settling for a a320m-k mainboard (it will work just as well, got the same paired with an RX 6650XT + 32gb ram + ryzen 7 5700G , then you can even get it for 50 euros (dollars) since it is literally the same Mainboard and even looks the same apart from the chipset
Will the GeForce RTX 3060 12GB 15 Gbps work?
❤ your vids they are always helpful and entertaining. P.S your the only reason i got into pc gaming 😊. Have a goog day 👍
7:14 The case does come with a pcie cover for that missing slot it’s to the left of the screwdriver right in front of you 🫢
Great vid👍
finally someone who pins stuff in desc
Just bought all the parts for a pc just to build one cuz I’ve never fully built one my self, just upgraded stuff
Hey I got the same motherboard and the assassin cpu cooler but the rgb header on the cooler is a 3 pin and the female end is 4
Having this same issue what did you end up doing?
How do you reroute the cable? And what do you need for painting it and how to apply paint?
as a painter, you should LIGHTLY sand the fan so the spray paint wont peel off. lightly spray layers on until its fully covered
Rate my build, which is already above my budget but I'm waiting for Amazon prime day for deals. I live in Canada BTW.

Can you make a video about how to benchmark your pc?
I've got zero experience with buidling or even buying a gaming pc. This looks great to build, but how about the parts? Are they easy to upgrade to a better version?
how did u reroute the reset switch because someone stuck there finger in one of the fans when helping me build it and now the rgb wont turn on and it doesn't show up in the bios
I’ve found a laptop from asus with 1060 6gb 16 gb ram and a i5 processor doesn’t say which one tho just says i5 it’s £340 is this a good deal?
Can you pleas make a video how to paint the cpu cooler i love the idea
Umm. Couldn't painting the cpu cooler mess a ton with the thermal dissipation or possibly fry a computer (if you let any paint drip onto any delicate parts, or if the paint melted or degraded over time?)
I admit im not a expert, but newegg usually has a lot of models to shop around for.
@@Notyouraveragename u dont put it on the mobo before you paint it, you take off the outer shell?? 🤣🤣
🎉 Pro tip - buy cheap used ram and two white ram heatsinks make your own white ram :)
My only question is, what do you do to upgrade in the future
‘400$’ where I live just to ship the case is another 60 dollars.
adding rust to the benchmark was nice you dont see that often
I’ve been building PCs for myself and family for a while now… never even considered it to be a possible income avenue
But you could juSt buy better parts used ? for around 600 u can have a ryzen 5 3600x and a 3060ti in this ?
You should check out the Asrock B550m Pro4, or B450m Pro4. They're excellent sub $100 mobos. The B450m Pro4 with the 5.20 bios update will run any AM4 CPU/APU except the 'Bristol Ridge' series.
I can't stand fish-tank cases. If that case were available with large hole mesh panels in place of the glass panels it would have my interest.

About to build a pc in September, wish me luck
How did it go?

Yes I do believe buying a brand new motherboard you know too sure if you have problems and you can always return it most used Model S up and down
new sub!!! you killed it!!!
How much fps does it run
Open frame case with 3 case fans! Amazing.
if anyone wants to build this in 2024 for any reason, I would go for a good motherboard (with a focus on more vrms mosfets, m2 nvme slots and if it is possible USB latest possible generation and PCIe 4 instead of PCIe 3, 16 lanes instead of 8 lanes (100-120$) possibly RAM and a good power supply. if it ever comes to the upgrade request, So you already have something solid. On the used market, more and more good cups and GPUs are found because they are starting to switch to am5 more and more. just my opinion
I liked the video! I wanted to ask what is the best video card to choose for work (3D development), and possibly for games, so that it is budget-friendly and in reserve for the future. I have a system: Intel Core 7 11700k, 32 gigabytes of RAM, I have a 650 watt power supply, and an Asus b650 1200 socket motherboard, I think you understand what I'm talking about. I have an ATX-format case, so almost any video card will fit. Now I have a video card 1060 for 6 gigabytes, from Asus. Your opinion is interesting, I will read it with pleasure. Budget up to 600-700 dollars.
Hey there! Based on your needs and budget, I suggest checking out the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule for maintaining a spotless environment in your workspace and beyond. It offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, making it a versatile tool. Zack you gotta help me with this.
Zach what should I replace the power supply with if I can’t find it anywhere?
and i added all it up and now you can get it for 368🔥
Correct me if im wrong but the airflow only have one type of fans does it make the pc have an bad airflow?
Replacing with a 6600xt makes this seem even better
Love the aesthetic.
Bro why are these comercials actually kinda entertaining
Btw if you have a little extra money you could get a 1080 ti or a 1650
Also the ryzen 3600 is interchangeable with the 5500 they’ll both get you the same performance
Isn't the bios on this mb 🤔 out of date Pretty sure you would have to update the bios for this motherboard to work
I’m really curious what fps this build would run as I’m thinking about getting the same specs
Me watching this video and casually having the exact same motherboard next to me on the table.
Ok, what am I looking for in a power supply? I can't find that exact model of PSU so what do I do? I'm new to this
like a power supply from a reputable brand ex. Evga, Corsair, Nzxt, Msi, 650 watts is more than enough
Should I buy the rtx 2060 8gb instead of the ASUS 1060 6gb?
I seen other gaming builders use this case on there own builds on here for videos its an awesome case but what I would have done is added a couple more fans on the top just to keep it even cooler
Or to just fill some of that extra space at the top of the case!
Hey, I think the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule could be a great addition to your PC cleaning routine. With its powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, it's perfect for keeping your setup spotless. Plus, it has some cool features like high-quality filters and efficient storage. Definitely worth considering!
there’s an asrock mobo that’s a good am4 white mATX option that’s isn’t listed on pc part picker. the b550m pro se. it’s also ~$80 and it looks pretty sick (at least in my pc). idk why no one talks about it
What fps would I get on Overwatch 2 1080p competitive settings with this exact build?
If I have a budget of around 600-1000 what are all the parts I can get to make me get a good pc for Fortnite warzone and more
Big tip: get a cheaper motherboard (it doesnt really matter as long as its am4 ddr4) and get a gtx1660ti. Its SOOOOOO much better and only 30 bucks more.
