Didn't think the Texas Panhandle still had pheasants around. WOW - hopefully they come back for a long time like when I was a young boy and man.

My dad has a WHP that loves the porcupines as well, she is like 12 years old with a bad hip and stays at home now.

my young Draht had his first encounter this week.. 50 quills and one hour of intense wrestling. I had small hemostats with me and those helped.

Anyway one of my pet peeves is my dad taught me is the difference between a ringneck and a Mongolian pheasant a ringneck have a straight line that goes all the way around his neck has and a Mongolian collar that goes all the way around his neck in the front come to a point like a shirt and that would be a Mongolian even in the Audubon Audubon society they show a ringneck pheasant but it's a Mongolian I could be mistaken but I don't think I am check out check it out I apologize if I'm mistaken thanks John Ryan buddy Reichert let me know what you think

Early srason. I would be scared to death my dog would get bit by a rattle snake. Or get into it with a wild hog. Other than that glad there are lone star chickens.

Typically the Panhandle has pretty cool weather comparable to KS and SE Colorado. That being said I know someone who got bit by a rattlesnake hunting pheasants here 😂

Why watch a pheasant hunting video if you’re gonna get offended by them killing pheasants?? Grow some sense boy 🤦🏼‍♂️

Because these birds are naturalized invasive species. They never oroginally were found here. But enough about that, they taste amazing. I love shooting them at any chance i get.
