    Basically coil and stretch your upper body against forward weight transfer of the lower body to create a bow and arrow/sling shot effect. got it.

    This is a great video! Never understood the back step drills in school it felt so unnatural and slow. They are still coaching the back step first I see it all the time. I’m coaching my 9 year old now and I have noticed he naturally steps front foot forward and gets the ball out faster than the back step kids idk how that is still a thing.

      Appreciate that a lot sir! Yeah nothing pisses me off more if I’m going to be honest😂 their explanation is always “oh it gets the ball out faster”. You can’t find me one NFL QB who “kick steps” like that. I’ve never seen it and nobody has ever shown me an example- so that usually means it’s not important to emphasize. I appreciate your support

      I finally found a friend to throw a football with. That’s the one thing that’s made me happy about football recently. I did throw 50 yards on Friday, but someone took my ball. Gotta keep my head up bro, especially when everyone doubts you and disrespects you.

    I’m lost on the transferring from the quad. That’s my biggest issue. I’m not understanding what you mean

    • @magzgaming3394
      @magzgaming3394 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What he means is when you are in your base you have around 60-70% of the weight on your back leg/quad so when you are rotating to get your hips through before the shoulder you are taking the weight from the back leg to the front of your body to get power and spin on your throw

    • @firstdowntraining
      @firstdowntraining  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ll make a video on that but it’s essentially like just taking the weight you have loaded and moving it your front leg. Think of it as a “shift” rather than driving or “pushing”- you just shift the weight over

    I love this channel even though I haven't played QB since middle school & my nephew Caanan Smith did & was coached by Kyler Murrays Dad,& he doesn't accept just anyone but I like ur breakdown and Jax is the best receiver in America and Caanan was the minor league player of the year last year & my son is 6'00 180 in the 8th grade & a ran a 10.88 hundred in summer track so he's gonna be a back or backer like I was at OU , but my youngest son might play tennis,chess,or piano cuz iont see it in him yet but he's only 4 so 🤷🏾‍♂️ but I like the technique break down you have just in case,& I want my kids to be good in what they choose to be great in,& maybe he's a hooper who knows football definitely ain't 4 everybody,it's hot, physical and the greatest sport on earth it can take you places & change your life if you let it because I played in the league long enough to have a cup of coffee and a donut & a steak dinner & I make more money now doing real estate & owning a trucking company than I did 5 yrs in the league 3 on IR mostly they payed me off potential Google Travis Lewis I wanted to win & I had a pre NIL deal that allowed me to stay in college & contact with good people & if you can graduate from high school you can graduate from college & just like football college ain't for everyone but connections are so if it ain't for ur talent make a person remember you,b/c good charecter will take you further in life than talent and even if you are good don't be a asshole about it like I once was, please & thank you will get you further in life than a 4.3 & that's a fact!!!

What they brought me here to do..take ur spot 🤷🏾‍♂️ freshman all-american,dick butkus trophy my true freshman year & an few ass whippings handed out you gotta RESPECT it,I bet they don't even fight in the locker room no more no will to win,in team film 📽️🎥 imma tell yeah he was drunk,he's just a pussy,& he doesn't have a clue,& why is he even here🤷🏾‍♂️ that's why we was #1 in the nation my senior year!! You have to want to win,& want to be great my nephews was on my doorstep b/c they Mom dropped them off at 5:00 am & there Dad was/is a fireman and we went onna 5 mile run not jog every morning,once a week & once I catch my breath guess what imma lock my door & open my window so you can smell bacon,eggs, sausage hash browns, and pancakes & because you showed up but made the choice not to keep up you get to jog home AFTER workouts,this life has no room for a Man who feels sorry for himself!!!

      Iont have to get up early & do this, guess what it's a person in the projects doing it w/o a rich daddy and no alarm clock ⏰ if you wanna quit do it Now so I can go find him,I talk to my kids like that b/c I coached kids like that Trevon Boykins TCU Heisman trophy almost QB, Eldridge Massington the UCLA receiver that wanted to be more Hollywood than hard-nose and a safety that had amazing parents but I knew more about him than his dad,that went to A&M & Arkansas just waiting for someone to save him, like I said it's gonna be harder if you didn't earn it,b/c you won't appreciate it!! No body is here to kiss ur ass football is a grown man sport!!!And if you ball ur welcome to anything in my house but my wife or my draws,I played in college with a Navy Seal,and 2 Army Rangers and I was the guy like get da fucc out my room & shut my door cuz if I wake up we have to fight!!! Off season is over,let my body rest, but the people that are working & willing to go the extra mile for you & themselves are the ones who you wanna align urself with,I've seen million dollar talent unfortunately unfulfilled working at Amazon,& UPS kickin' themselves in da Azz behind one word DISCEPLEN!!!

    • @firstdowntraining

      Also should I think about rotating my hips or transferring my weight

    • @firstdowntraining

      I would say think about rotating your hips- you want a base either 65-70% on the back leg and you want to think someone is pulling your front hip open- that will naturally transfer the weight
