- I am on a 3 day bushcraft trip to a Danish forest with the dog Musen and my good friend Søren - better known as DonVonGun in the bushcraft society. / sorenanker
Check out his channel for great videos about fire making with bow drill, shelter building, primitive fishing, birch bark tar etc.
On this 3 days trip we are each making a bushcraft chair, doing some flint knapping, some basket weaving and I am out to see if I am lucky to see some red deer.
We get surprised by a thunderstorm but luckily the tarp kept us dry - or almost…
Nothing is better than some days with wild camping, bushcraft and wildlife photography.

When I was a little boy, we walked a lot in the fields and forests, and if the rain caught us on the way, we also waited for the birds singing, this is a sure sign that the weather will be better)

@@MortenHilmer same thing happens to me a lot when I'm photographing Alpine Ibexes, I see their horns sticking over a rock, but when I zoom in on it it turns to be a branch... ✌

Rain is nice when it falls straight down not sideways as it is often the case where I live. I dream of a house with a veranda all around it just so that I can sit there and listen to the rain when it comes. Nice shot of the tree root Morten . :D

Actually, what you took was a photo of a forest spirit. It was a red deer when you first saw it but it saw you and turned back into the roots of a tree. A very lucky photo, treasure it ;))
Wow, two of my very favorite wild men of the woods! What a treat to see so much of sweet little Musen; I just love her ;) Precious.
I have a hard time with such muggy, humid weather. Give me frost on the ground and a brisk north wind anytime.
I tried to learn flintknapping at one time; I just didn't have the strength in my hands or the feel for it but I like to watch it done. You never know what you'll get.

Great video Morten. Great to see two of my favorite TH-camrs together in a video. I learned that chair from Sørena while back as well and love it. I really liked your tightening technic with the second piece of wood. Do you know the name of the knot are you using there that sinches down and holds like that? Looks different then what I'm doing and more efficient. Thanks again.

Everything just looks so great. I don't know the name of the knot - it was the one I used when building my dogsled in the Sirius Dogsled Patrol;)
