SOLO BUSHCRAFT TRIP IN DENMARK - primitive skills, bow drill, shelter, cooking meat, flint knapping

- This is all about bushcraft, wild camping and primitive skills. No talking, just showing you a glimpse of one of the things I love the most - Being out in the Nordic nature with my camera, making a simple camp, starting a fire, making some campfire cooking, doing woodcraft, practice my bushcraft skills and most importantly - reconnecting with nature.
In this video I am in a Danish forest where I have decided to make a simple bushcraft camp. After making a shelter with my tarp, I am starting a friction fire by using a bow drill. It is essential to be able to start a fire in a survival situation, so just to practice the routines and the habit of thinking forward, I am making me a spare friction fire kit. I love doing woodcraft, so maybe it was also just an excuse for actually carving some wood.
To start a fire in these wet conditions I use birch bark and Chaga mushroom to turn the ember into fire.
After getting the camp fire going I have to make a setup for primitive cooking. I make bread over the fire by using fresh sticks, making soup in my Eagle kettle and I am roasting a steak over the embers.
While the food is cooking over the camp fire, I am going to do some nature photography in the meadow and to find water. When returning I practice some flint knapping. I have brought a flint stone and my flint knapping tools, but unfortunately it is getting dark way to fast:)
The rest of the evening is just eating, enjoying nature and relaxing in my primitive bushcraft camp with my dog Bjørn.

I have spent two further years in the northern parts of Greenland meeting the local people and working on photography projects. My driving force is a sense of adventure and my fascination for nature, and my curiosity and empathy for other cultures has led me to many remote regions.”

Wow, you´re really great in sharing your experiences and let the viewer really feel, how you are enjoying alle of these moments. Guys like you, change the lifes of so much people. Back, 10 years ago, i loved nature photography and i had a great time at Helgoland photographing the seals and birds and i were in the woods, every free minute i could spent. But than i lost it out of my eyes and forgot the experiences i had while beeing in the nature, due to a new job and my child. YOU let me remember what i´m really passionate about. I bought a good telephoto lens (i sold my old one, due to financial problems years ago), updated my camera and went out into the woods... THANK YOU !!!

The bread on a stick is a strange choice, rather than a flat-bread or roll. Also, that method for lighting the fire took a huge amount of effort, especially compared to using a flint and steel. Enjoyable video, thanks for sharing.
