I was confused at first watching this video on what the point you were saying was but I think your saying that it’s not running in 120fps with HDR even though your using HDMI 2.1, this is because you can’t run the game on 4K with HDR even if you have HDMI 2.1 the game turns it off by itself, the tv and the PS is doing what it’s meant to do don’t worry
This should help, In External device manager and go to Input signal plus. Then make sure HDMI 4 is enabled. This allows this tv to open the full bandwidth of the hdmi port.
Thanks for that Ron yup as mentioned in the video cable was in the right port I believe at the time it was greyed out, It’s all good now I will be doing an update video soon on this thanks for the feedback peace ✌️! MrHandTech
@mrhandtech what's your thoughts on this now we're in April,? I'm a Q80T owner with ps5 and tbh would love to just see this sorted now debating my options
This needs sorting badly! It's a ps5 issue Apparently. Now as a Q80T owner after all these months I'm pretty fed up now. Sony need to sort there stuff out fast!
Lol dude i was so mad when i first saw this too. Since I got a Q80T also. Best value/lowest input lag for a QLED TV. I didn't know if it was the TV or the PS5 being the issue. When i played this on my PS5 at launch. It was a big letdown for me since it was advertised as a gaming TV with 1 HDMI 2.1 port for 4K120hz gaming. Was almost gonna get an CX OLED but those are more expensive and has a future potential risk of burn in. If not used properly. But then i waited for this to get fixed and yup it was was clearly the PS5 as i suspected, with their software issue and their limited 32gbps bandwidth, compared to 40/48gbps on HDMI 2.1 TVs. The PS5 couldn't support certain model TV's with 4K120 in HDR. It will only do 4K120hz on SDR, with COD, dirt 5, etc. But after the latest software update last month on PS5, it finally fixed that so it was on Sony's end not Samsung. Was Surprised cause Sony didnt even mention this fix on the notes of the software update. It was a random surprise lmao. Now Games play beautiful on 120hz HDR on my Q80t :)
Hey dude thanks for the comment and sorry for the late response! And that is correct at launch 🚀 at the time of the video that indeed was the case also Samsung’s lack of implementation with Sony didn’t help I bought a series x that worked the whole time now the updates seem to have fixed everything input signal plus HDR etc! Still no VRR on the ps5 but plenty more coming up on the channel soon Peace MrHandTech.

@@MKTEKGURU93 Nice one buddy, glad you found a panel that's working out for you! On Samsungs website I managed to find a statement that acknowledges there are issues with ps5 and certain models of theirs, causing same issues you had. Lmao Andrew... Shows how little you know within this field. Firstly, yes there are few Samsung TVs that have issues with certain settings with ps5. It seems to be the ps5 and will be sorted. As for the xbox having better specs and no issues! It is having plenty, from compressing colour on LG cx oleds and not outputting 444 chroma, in COD. Also not having correct settings if you turn Ray tracing on in game. Read all the issues on Forbes! Finally, saying tvs are a waste of time for this gen of consoles, is total nonsene. Even if you can shave a little more input lag off with a monitor, try find a 55" monitor that will give 120hz, 4k. Oh and then afford to buy one. Any gaming monitor above 120hz is a waste with these consoles. Latest Samsung and LG panels are everything anyone could want for this latest gen of console.
