  • Going on a cruise out of Port Miami or Port Everglades and looking for the cheapest cruise transposition? One option you need to consider is the Brightline train to the cruise port! It is an economical and a cheaper way to save money when going on a cruise.
    Port of Miami parking is now $28 a day or $84 for a weekend cruise or $196 for a 7 night sailing at Royal Caribbean's Terminal A! If you are asking yourself "how do I get to port Miami?", you have to consider the Brightline Train and Brightline Shuttle Service directly to Port Miami or Port Everglades.
    Looking to go to take the Brightline Shuttle to a Marlin's or Miami heat game? Ride to the terminal in style, have the option to pre-game on the train, and make it home safely at the end of the night.

    Great comparisons of the three or so different ways of getting to the Ports!

    Hi Brandon! Hopefully in due time, there will also be a station in the Cocoa/Cocoa Beach area in order to take the Brightline to Port Canaveral as well! And...eventually Tampa!

    Thanks Brandon! We love taking the bright line when we fly into Fort Lauderdale to sail out of Miami however this time I think we will check the price of an Uber instead. When we took our Virgin cruise last month it was perfect because we did enjoy the extra time in the first class lounge and “pregaming “because virgin sails later in the day. This time it will be a Disney cruise and we will be boarding in the morning so we may not choose to drink

      It is def worth checking it out. For Pregaming, you can't beat that feature and you can def get your moneys worth in a 35 minute train ride!

    Depreciation is a Fixed cost, not a Variable cost. It generally does not change if you drive normal distances. It is based on Time of Ownership.

    • @TheWeekendCruiser
      @TheWeekendCruiser  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      depreciation of a building yes, depreciation of a car has fixed such as time of ownership components but how much you drive it is variable. Plus, I think cars have gone up in value over the last 2 years. Maybe they are an appreciating asset now? ;-)

      Hey Shawn, was just talking with a friend about this. I'm not sure it brightline + can include pickup from the port and believe their shuttle to the ports has stopped (don't hold me to this) Ticket prices have gone up for brightlines too. You can do a fare estimate on Uber.com and see what the difference might be. There customer service is pretty stellar if you want to call it chat with them online.

    Very informative video. I’m looking into taking BL from WPB to FTL for our cruise out of Port Everglades. I live in Palm Beach Gardens. Is there return service from the port? Or just ride share back to the station? There are 3 of us so a straight Uber might make the most sense.

    Great information! So appreciative. Heading down soon and exploring this option. Subtracting some driving time sounds so nice. If driving in from Orlando in a private vehicle, would it make much sense to park at Brightline’s garage in WPB for a week and ride the train to the shuttle? Is parking that long possible without the Brightline monthly parking pass?

    • @TheWeekendCruiser
      @TheWeekendCruiser  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's actually not a bad strategy! Double check me here but I believe their parking is $10 a day and can be purchased with your ticket. They have excellent customer service to that you can chat with online and call if needed. I did both in researching this article and had a good experience. And hopefully, they just get the train running from Orlando soon!

    Just looking at this idea for first post covid cruise, great info.. how's the luggage check in and pickup work? (would you trust them with checked in luggage not getting lost) I love this idea, but also noticed when I setup the booking on bright lines website and get to the + options. both private and share just return no service within 5 miles to port of miami =/. (its the hybrid sch, oasis @ 4 night wed-sunday) Live in north Florida so driving to west palm 5/dollar a day parking is no a brainer vs day earlier with hotel, plus parking fees. just trying to figure the logistics of the miami station to port and the return port to miami station .. didn't want uber / Lyft unless I had too. would think they would have this more straightforward as they really could tackle the cruse port market in so many ways. great video, made me want to try this idea even more.

    • @TheWeekendCruiser
      @TheWeekendCruiser  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would absolutely trust them with my luggage. At a maximum, you have two stops on the train and they always seem to move them off quickly. You will not book the shuttle service with purchase. Just know the shuttle will be there and ready to take you to the ship! They do not offer return service and you will need a taxi/uber to get you back.

      Brightline played with shuttles but they unfortunately did not stick and they have discontinued most of them. They do offer "fixed shuttles" for a fee or Brightline+ for a fee and complimentary with a premium ticket. www.gobrightline.com/offers/fixed-route-shuttles

    I would like to know (if anyone knows) what if you are in a wheelchair? Can you take a shuttle?

    • @TheWeekendCruiser
      @TheWeekendCruiser  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Michael! You sure can! When booking the shuttle, there is a toggle switch for "wheelchair assistance" you can select.

    • @TheWeekendCruiser
      @TheWeekendCruiser  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Was thinking about this last night, the shuttle to Miami doesn't have this option. Only the initial pickup from your location to the station. However, I have seen multiple vans that are accessible and their customers service is really good. If you contacted before, I hope they can figure it out.
