I just watched this as a part of my class on Coursera on Foundations of Virtual Instruction. I found this video very engaging and fun to watch. I had to pause every now and then since I wanted to take glossary, but that's the whole point of it! I can pause any time and watch again. Thank you for sharing an invaluable information for a beginner online teacher. It's already on my list of favorites!

This is the only eLearning video I've seen on TH-cam. that is purely informative, and doesn't shout out sales gimmicks. The video is well-designed, well-paced, clear, and recognises the importance of the learner in a facilitative context.

Excellent presentation! The pacing was, at least for me, just right and the cautionary tips at the end of each major point provided a helpful signal that a new point was to be introduced.

I believe the author, Claudia Dornbusch is a professional and experienced teacher beside being a pro in technology. Thanks for inspiring me. Excellent ideas for keeping participants engaged. But first we have to get them to attend. My experience with teaching at a distance is that my students are so busy and have such varied schedules (the very reason they do distance learning to begin with), doing a synchronous meeting gets very few of the learners together at the same time, thus defeating the whole point of synchronous.

terrific job on the video with some excellent ideas. one disagreement, and maybe it's just my personality, but I find teachers that keep asking me if I understand over and over to be annoying. it also usually just opens the door to the three loud mouth extroverts that like to hear themselves talk. really good elearning makes sure everyone is engaged without spotlighting. however, you did say that earlier in the video. thanks!

You need access to a platform (Adobe Connect, WebEx, Blackboard, etc.) to use for your online class. Once you have a platform, the platform generates a URL which you can share with others to join you as you practice. Or someone who already has a platform and is setting up a class can share the URL with you.
