    I honestly watch your videos because they are insanely chill. It's great to watch your stuff after a hard day at work or uni and just unwind. Also, even if it's "just" a review, I can tell you put a lot of effort into making the videos which pays off in a big way. 5/10

    I Kraig, I'm a big fan, but one question: what about flying laws? That's the biggest obstacle here in Italy even if I buy a drone without a license I can only fly the drone in remote places far away from inhabited regions and without any commercial use. I mean here in Italy 85% of the beautiful footage you made are probably illegal. I don't know about the flying law in the US or in other European countries but if you want let us/me know about your experience. This is a 5/10 commento ;)

    I enjoy this series of thoughts. Its kinda like an inner mind monologue and your walking us through your thoughts and process. LIke how you didn't care for the shot due to the birds but also notice the colors were off. I enjoy the honesty!!!

    I just got my Mavic Air as well- I love the portability of the drone but I do have connection issues at times. That being said, I am doing a two month trip to Europe and I need to travel as light as possible. Your drone shots inspired me to get a drone, I think your shots are simple but beautiful. I have been rewatching a lot of your videos on drones to get good shots myself. I am actually exporting a drone video as I write this comment.

    Bought the Mavic Air Fly More Combo. This drone is perfect. Love it.

    Nice one Kraig. Glad you showed some of the finer issues like the banding and zooming into that noise. It's hard to tell on a lot of reviews those details due to trying to show comparisons side by side which are too zoomed out to really tell. The Air looks wicked, but I was so impressed with the Mavic Pro capability in high winds recently in Iceland that I'll stick with the Pro for now.

    Thanks for your comments, Kraig. I agree, we should wait until DJI launches another Mavic Pro drone with a bigger sensor and better image quality.

    Hey Kraig - This is one of the best Mavic Air videos I’ve watched on TH-cam... and I’ve seen a lot. Honest and to the point. I’m a new Mavic Air pilot myself and love and hate it for the same reasons you do. Thanks for for this and hope to see more of your drone vids in the future. ✌️

    Hi Kraig, since you ask...you and me are flying à Mavic Air, but we don’t have the same age (I am 73) and that makes a difference! I don’t have the guts to fly where it’s not allowed and respect the law as mentioned in my French hobby drone permit. That being said I do like your cool way of explaining and sharing your videos. 🇫🇷

    Made it to the end (as always); I love the high quality narration with dope b-roll and music that really complements the whole thing on this one, feels much more personal than a typical tutorial-style vid, very easy to watch.

    Had to pause your podcast to watch this :P
    Just got the Mavic Air and I looove it (especially upgrading from the Spark) but yeah that freaking propellor blade fold up order is like playing tetris. It makes me a little mad each time but it's worth it cuz it actually folds up into a tiny little package. But damn I really gotta stop being lazy and start shooting in manual exposure...

    The snappy moviefeed at 5:25 ish is because your shutter speed it to hihj. you want to keep it at double your frame rate, so for example 30fps -> 1/60 shutter speed. this gives you motion blur and makes the image look a lot more cinematic. If the image looks to bright at 1/60 \ 1/120, then id recommend to use some ND filters to combat this. Hope I could help!

    Watching this video as I activate my DJI goggles. (yes, the whole video) I have been struggling to see the image on my iPhone in the daylight, so I'm going to give the goggles a try. Appreciated your take on the Mavic Air. I'm using a Mavic Pro for portability, but will definitely be getting a Phantom 4 Pro+ for the higher quality work needs. Really enjoy your videos, realistic reviews/opinions.

  • @JacobVossFilms

    I know this wouldn’t happen but a collab between moment lenses and DJI would be fantastic.

  • @LapaFilms
    @LapaFilms 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Coming from Phantom 4, I think my Mavic Air offers better image quality. I couldn't get that good-looking shots from P4, since the image was oversharpened most of time even if I lowered the sharpening settings. With Mavic Air, footage looks excellent. Noise is quite a problem, but I rarely shoot in situation when I need to raise the ISO. I use changed settings, so that could be reason for my different opinion.

  • @VentureAddicts

    I like the idea of the Phantom 4 Pro + and a better portable drone like the Spark or Mavic Pro. We currently use the Mavic Pro strictly and love the portability with all our traveling, but having the quality of a 4 Pro + would be amazing

    Good video man, i enjoyed it. I've had my Mavic Air about a week now and loving it. Im not new to flying but new to filming with a drone. I find the colour right out of camera pleasing to my eye, but I like the saturated look with lots of pop. But after watching like a stupid amount of these videos I couldn't resist the temptation to do a little experimenting and I was pretty happy with the results. So I tried 0/-1/-1 and Cinelike then tried some quick colour grading for my first time and I found right away the noise was reduced. Its an extra step but it may just be worth it.. Im still on the fence because it does look pretty sick with stock profile too.. Im sure by now you have tweeked the yaw/gimbal speed/exp and all that other fun stuff.. That was the biggest game changer for me, so much more control and buttery smooth movements... Good stuff have a good one.

    Made it to the end. I’ll be (re) launching my TH-cam channel (among other things) soon and quitting my shitty day job. I’m trying to find my balance between cinematography vs storytelling, and information/insights vs personal stuff so I appreciate your vids like this.

    I am a complete drone beginner. I just bought the Mavic Air 2. I got it all set up, inserted the SD card. Installed the app on my old iPhone SE. I prepared for my first test flight. Pressed the launch button and... nothing. It make a peep noise, but I don't see any error message. Can you think of anything I'm missing? I'll try contacting DJI support via Facebook Messenger.

  • @BokehFilmStudios
    @BokehFilmStudios 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love the quality you got out of the default profile. Even with default profile, I'm surprised that you didn't decrease contrast and saturation. I've found that doing so helps with the noise in the shadows you were experiencing...but I'm also using D-Cinelike. I'm going to try default PP with -3 contrast and -2 saturation for this weekends wedding. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for this!

    Hey Kraig, hope your EU trip was good! I'm loving what you've been creating recently, you should get Matt D'Avella on the podcast! • @katie
    @katie 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    This was perfect timing for me, since I'm about to leave on a trip to Puerto Rico where I'm planning to do some drone travel filming for the first time. I'm borrowing my dad's Phantom 3 which is a pain because its huge to carry, but its better than no drone at all. How do you figure out where to film in terms of safety/legality etc? I really don't want to do something accidentally illegal, lol.

    Enjoying your vids every time, you got me hooked with the Japan supervlog being honest. I don’t get why dji is not using the same connection like they do with the pro though.
    I like getting a drown and the a small one but I not really need one for my TH-cam vids and for my trips I am even to lazy carrying my Dslr. Maybe I will check out the pro and the spark, not sure though whether I really should get one.
    Keep up the good work and thanks for entertaining, inspiring and teaching, cheers, Konstantin 👍🏻

    Great video and some of the shots (good lighting) look very good and you cannot notice any noise. I bet DJI already has a better Mavic Air in the pipeline. They could build a Phantom 4 Pro into a Mavic Air form factor, just want to keep certain price points. I would love a Phantom 4 Pro in a Mavic Air form factor. That would be so great.
