As a former security guard for Mack Trucks in Winnsboro, SC, the CH models replaced the R-Models (in which Mack Trucks left SC back in 2002). I had a 1st hand look at how the Mack Trucks was built from the frame up.
Hard to believe that Mack was built approx 3-4 years after I left Mack. I didn't want to relocate to Winsboro from Allentown and I took severed relations with Mack about 88. That was a nice truck you have there.
Right in the first shot, i spotted a hand full of first gen Volvo VNL, the Mack CH, an International 9400. Dayum, Those are the kinds of trucks i like a lot. And all of them in 1 shot was such a unexpected treat.
I drove a cabover Mack rubbish truck years ago with that Maxidyne transmission, hi-lo-reverse on the little stick...... The craziest thing was I had all five speeds in reverse, and yes there were parts of my route where I used them.... The boys on the back of the truck thought it was a hoot 😂

If you don't find the keys that is a basic 3 wire ignition switch, one wire is starter wire, one is the 12 volt supply and the last is the accessory wire, take the 12 volt and the accessory wire and connect together and that turns everything on to run the engine like the computer, fuel solenoid, fuel pump and the most important, cb and fm radio's and last you can touch the starter wire to the other two and it should turn over and start with a little help from a bit of starting fluid.

that ch 600 will be a beautiful restoration my favorita truck you have to lost the six bolts for the injector pump remove the pump nut with a 1-1/4 12 point socket and tray to star it and wait till diesel came out

those volvos were great trucks were wonderful to drive and very comfortable. I had the pleasure to drive one of the first vnls that came out(new one every year, with n14 cummins and you could max out your miles every week and no feel beat). My last one was a vnl 770 with 460 n14 and rode as good as about any automobile. we wait every day for your comment. take care, bill

Wiley those 5 speeds were no good for hauling logs in Oregon. They would run out of steam pulling steep county. I talked to a man that had one on the highway and he said they did pretty good on open road.
I help a buddy of mine with 4 of his trucks. Just getting my feet wet in it but You’re right it’s not good. The cost of a break down on the road is what I have noticed that is so expensive. I know people got to make money. I bought (2) used 285. 22.5. Monday. 665.00 out the door.

Those newer model macks were not anything like the r model. Those old trucks tough as nails and would break the driver in most cases before the truck would.
