The 'tension lyric at 0:11 has been bothering me for so long because i thought it was attention shortened but it wasn't then I see the description and actual lyric is 'tention and that just makes me so happy
For the curious, Hangfire is an event in which the firing of a gun is delayed by an unknown amount of time due to issues with the starter, the powder, or so on. Hangfire is usually dangerous because if it goes on for too long the user may believe the gun jammed or misfired instead and when they go to clear the jam the bullet goes off aimed in a different direction from intended
In Zora’s case she may be intentionally using Hangfire to produce strange delays in the firing of her gun, either to trip up her opponents or to “stock” trigger pulls and bullets without needing to reload or pull the trigger again.
P cool idea what if shes forcing hangfires with her epithet manually delaying the shots

I like to think the "I'm number one" fake-out was because Zora could have ended it at any time she wanted to, but wanted to keep the chase going just a little while longer. Just like what happened with Ramsey and Percy, she's prolonging the hunt, showing off her powers, explaining her motives and playing her games with her target.

In my headcanon, Zora's target is a song producer that's buying time by offering her several opportunities to record any and all songs she has stuck in her head... And Zora, looking to showboat, accepts the offer before the ultimate demise of the song producer.

Oh god don’t fucking tell me she can fucking recreate the MADE IN HEAVEN event. Almost any level of time based powers have high potential to be OP jack of all trades on their own (only being limited by the user’s intelligence and imagination if the power is on the weaker side) but adding Chronokinesis makes them a horrific nightmare unstoppable entity (and I’m not even sure if I WANT to try to comprehend what the epithets of the two characters that are supposedly stronger then her, like come on it’s time control what unholy powers can overpower her, unless it’s literally just a epithet that doesn’t allow epithet use or something but even then it would be feared just like how all for one is because he has a similar power)

I love that the countdown numbers don't have any pattern, and just kinda come out of nowhere through the song. Adds a fun bit of tension, like she could pull the trigger at any moment if you're not careful.

Challenging your target to a duel is THE COOLEST way of saying "Surrender, or else".
She's risking her life to try intimidate them into surrendering, which is way nicer than just killing them, but it still makes her look badass.
I mean considering this is Zora, "risking her life" is being very generous about her target's chances.

She mentions that you won't live to see sundown, maybe referring to how if she will use all her power before sundown ends so she could catch you
There's a reason it's called a SUNdial, Because it needs the SUN for a SUNdial to work
Oh god I never thought of that but it does make a sort of sense and would fit right in with the other weird powers and restrictions in the show.
This also gives the line by sundown I'll be done a double meaning as she will have caught them by sundown and by sundown her power will be done
Or if it does work, it's severely weakened because of the moon reflecting sunlight. She ages Ramsey's phony amulet at night. So maybe she's weaker at night, but she can still defend herself.

I don't think that's true, though? Percy straight up says she has power over the cycle of the sun-and we can see her using her epithet to teleport near the end of episode seven. Zora is the kind of characters other characters talk about at a campfire like a myth while she steals the bag of marshmallows
So, I have a theory that the metaphors she uses for each one has to do with their epithets. The first one she used a lot of predator/prey analogies, and at one point called him a "shaking deer", I think his epithet is something related to deer or similar. The second one is a gang, but she uses a lot of explosive metaphors, so maybe the leader has something to do with gunpowder or other kinds of explosives? The third one is pretty obvious, a lot of things related to birds, so probably some kind of bird.

In my mind she fires that shot in the third chorus at the same time as in the other choruses, on "[take your best] shot", but causes a hangfire with her epithet, leaving the bullet hanging in mid-air like in the show while already turning and walking away. Then she finishes her countdown and releases the bullet.

I might just be overthinking things, but I wonder if eyes have some grander significance to Zora. I feel like there is a lot of eye imagery with her two songs that have been released. She has those triangular markings around her eyes, each of her marks only have one visible eye in this art, and one of her eyes is partially hidden, and in the most recent song she apparently looks up to ~someone~ (the identity of whom I tooooootally have noooooo idea about) that has interesting eyes. Weird connection I wanted to point out, unlike old Kaleidoscope eyes I can't say I have a super concrete theory, but it is something I am taking note of moving forward :)

Everything about this song is amazing, from the voices and lyrics, to the lyrics, to the detail of the hidden countdown!
So first one is probably Ramsey who decided to return to prison instead of fight if the eye is anything to go by. The gang I don't know but they look like the original design for bliss ocean mooks. Might just be a reuse though. The final one is some kind of jailbird who is making the most of her situation in prison. Aside from the bird imagery she also shares some time imagery with zora. we'll probably get more on her during the prison arc but my best guess is one of Trixie's sisters.
