I have never seen Epithet Erased, but I am a very big fan of the Mario & Luigi games and this made me very happy. The animation in general is sublime. Maybe ill check out the series at some point.
This is generally quite great, but I have minor critique as an avid player of M&L games. During the pumpkin's attack animation, there could've been a telegraph of when to Guard such as the ground having a small disturbance before striking. Also, have Molly leave her relaxing pose after the Lorel-Leigh-Lines attack to join the victory pose of the other two. Otherwise, fantastically done, this captures the Mario and Luigi vibe, as well as Paper Mario/Bug Fables vibes really well. I love the little animations, from the boss to the girls and Rick. And the standard attack animation was soooo smooth! ❤
Bloody Hell! I clicked on this thinking it was going to be a small Epithet Erased fan animatic; I was in no way expecting excellent fully-animated character animation with the original voice cast! It also REALLY nailed the feel of a cartoony RPG mini-boss battle! Absolutely amazing work! This was a real gem of a find! XD
This animation is so amazing! It feels so faithful to both the M&L games and EE, from the charming idling to the vibrant background, not to mention the wonderful effects on the attacks that really add a sense of impact. It came together incredibly well!
I would totally play this! It has everything! Humor, voice acting, rpg elements, nice art style, and serious potential to be a true hit! I could totally see this as indie game of the year 2025
Holly hell, dude. This is absolutely incredible. The smooth animation, the details on each of the buttons, the dialogue and timing-all of it has a perfect RPG feel to it. This really looks like a legit game. I've had a blast seeing the works in progress, but I'm still blown away by the finished product! You should be massively proud of yourself. 👏👏👏
Of this, the world needs more. Be it just another demonstration, or full-on game production... This concept has the potential to be an all new high for Epithet Erased!
It would be AMAZING if this was an actual game. There’s already a lot of indie RPG’s that is based on Paper Mario or Earthbound, but never based on Mario and Luigi. This project has SO much potential!

Man, ricks power is too OP. The whole him gaining powers of his friends is strong enough, but it being purely about his perception of what their abilities are kind of makes the contractual link thing feel less meaningful because he’s not actually tapping into their abilities at all, it’s all literally him.

What is he drawing from the soulmate that their agreeing to in their friendship? What does the link even achieve when it’s all his own perspective? I understand how the power works, I guess, but it feels less interesting when he’s drawing from his perspective instead of the bond that he has with them, even if it makes the power more open ended and fun in some ways.
@@christianboi7690His beleif in his own friends' abilities, that's likely what it is. In other words, he literally has The Power of Friendship trope, where the source comes not from those friends can ohysically do, but their beleif in the one being powered up. Just in reverse!
What do you mean this isn’t a real game? This looks and sounds amazing! The Mario and Luigi gameplay style is perfect and the characters ooze personality and are fun. Your pitch game idea is so cool I which it was real. This was in my recommendations today for whatever reason and I’m glad I clicked on it. Got my Like.
This animation is epic! Only criticism I have is that Scaregrow's attack doesn't have a constant telegraph for the timing, which goes against the tutorial boss status they're paited to have. Other than that, though, the animation feels accurate to RPGs, the writing is perfect, and you even got the official VAs! 8/10. Bravo!
I've cut the telegraph attack from the video because 6 min was getting too long for the showcase so I decided only to highlight Molly blocking instead.
If you curious, when scaregrow attack by plunging their arm into the ground, the leaf on his head was supposed to swing back and forth changing color to indicate which order characters was going to be struck @@LitPinata

Game concept is kinda similar to Indivisible, a sadly mostly forgotten but really unique Metroidvania/RPG game. I could totally see this working with more care and time though! Also the voice acting is so good.
Reminds me of the Mario and Luigi games with a bit of that Self Conscious Indie Game feel. I love the Mario and Luigi series(Dream Team is my favorite) And I absolutely love RPGs long story short, I like this
