Wow the metallic paints looked really nice and like you demonstrated some of the paints did very well when brushed but than the airbrush came to the rescue as long as one was willing to understand multiple layering might be expected. This was another great review and didn't know this brand was on the market. Thank you for sharing happy painting.
I really like these series where you test other brands! There are many more out there :D. The gemstone colors seem to behave exactly like the ones from Scale and Warcolours. Perhaps you should try them once over white metallic with the airbrush. This seems to work pretty well for Scale and Warcolours.
Great review. I was on the fence about ordering the washes since I have quite a few Citadel washes already but they seem to be very effective. I quite like Darkstar for it's unusual metallic shades. I've been picking the colours that have different tints to most other companies' golds and silvers. Silver Verde is quite an interesting colour to play with thanks to it's greenish tint. Being able to pick up more tarnished or weathered shades than many competitors produce is quite nice. I might get a few more of these for hand painting and leave the airbrush basecoats to my Scale 75 metallics.
The washes are good; I liked them a lot. Have you tried Two Thin Coats washes? I also like it.❤ The truth is that the best thing about Darkstar is the chromatic variety it has

The lady in there was chatting about paint, (I was looking for Vallejo Liquid Gold range), and she mentioned Dark star. I had never heard of them. I bought their (then) entire range of 27 paints. Most commonly used colours are their bronzes.

Do these not need to be thinned with water when brushing them on? I noticed you only slightly dampened your brush, but did not add water to the paint on the palette.
Muy buena idea tuviste con estos videos de testeo de colores!!! muy bonitos los tonos, es verdad que con el aerógrafo pierden fuerza los colores, pero igual se ven muy bien, en una de esas se puede usar el aerógrafo para dar la base del color y luego repasar a pincel las zonas que se quieran resaltar. "Pomo" en castellano sería algo como que una botella o un envase donde casi siempre ponemos un líquido, en este caso el washer (en inglés) o lavados en castellano... En este caso t preguntaba si hay alguna manera de crear lavados sin tener q comprar la botella de lavado original... Asumo que quizás añadiendo mucha agua o diluyente a una pintura se puede lograr llegar a obtener una especie de lavado, pero tu me dirás q eres el especialista... Gracias y por nada x la clase de español jajajaja
I liked the review but I want to ask you two questions: 1st - If you have used the 0.2 needle would it have a made any difference? I've noticed the paint was leaving a lot of dots. 2nd The jade paints. When you are painting jewels ,you always want it to blend a little bit with the last layer. So the low opacity from this paint could help achieve that. What is your opinion regarding this? Thank you.
I'm glad you like the review. :) If I had used the 0.2 needle, the fluidity would probably be worse. The thinner needs another formulation, so these paints flow better with the airbrush. As for the gemstones, I think it would be better to prime white and apply these colors; I'm not sure if this would work better.
Estoy de acuerdo contigo, me encanta el Royal Gold y el Steel. Quizá el Pewter también me guste pero no tan extendido, al final el peltre es un metal un poco feo jajaja
@@AngelGiraldeZ I find each paint is a little different and needs varying ratio, but I usually use the bronze, steel and dark blue metallics with a 5 to 1 using a 0.4 needle as I use these mainly for large areas. I usually go with more thinner than I would normally consider and just run a few more coats if needed.

I believe they just buff up with a q-tip or something like that, I have been using a mr hobby metallic set for a while that polishes and I was hoping you knew 😅 maybe next video ?

Todo lo que sea descubrir buenas alternativas al metálico de GW es bienvenido, basta de pinturas secas
As que utilizei aqui no Brasil metálico eu as diluo com água fica melhor a cobertura sem marca de pincel.

They look typically terrible. Huge flakes, poor coverage, etc. When you have Vallejo Metal Color, why would you ever want to use this junk?
It looks like a horrible metallic paint job. Those large particles could almost be mistaken for pearl paint.
