I have almost no problems having emporium to fund free updates. I just feel curses should be rewards for challenges. They would still be avaiable for anyone but feel more special.
I don't get ur point. If ur wearing the storm curse everybody knows u bought it. Its not like you can buy the Gold curse or a PVP Curse. Chill out dude.

@@dasgericht7347I agree. I rarely get to play as much as I used to since I have a full time job, a husband, and a father of two kids. I don’t have as much time to play, but what I DO have is some disposable income that I can use to buy things. I have no problem with it being on the Emporium.
10 in game curses vs 1 emporium curse… come back when it’s 50/50 and you might have an argument. Unless you have the TT gold curse or lvl 1000 hg curses, no one cares anyways.
I don't think it's a problem unless they start putting more curses in the store than earnable in game. I think everyone should have access to every cosmetic type very easily, but there should be specific versions of cosmetics that reflect earning it through a tough challenge in game. That way people who want to flex their time spent can do that but people who want to play casually and still enjoy looking cool can fashion it up as well.

Tasha, in her endless brilliance, decided that chains would be enough to stop ASHEN skeletons with the ability to MELT things from stealing the Blade.
Ramsey probably poked himself with the blade accidentally on one of the rare moments he actually stood up and decided to go on a journey, and rather than walk, teleported to give the gal the sword because sure, then went back and sat down, still ignoring those 3 daggers in his back that have been in there for as long as us pirates can remember. That's your pirate lord for you. How on earth does Athena think they're winning this if not even the leader of the faction is getting involved with the fight?
I'm just trying to think that the Pirate Lord is such a powerful entity that even Flameheart is nowhere near him in power. And he simply leaves the possibility for the Reapers to exist, so that the pirates can determine their own path and fight with each other and then tell each other incredible stories. Otherwise, if everything is not so, then it is simply a shame both for the Pirate Lord and for the developers responsible for the lore and plot of the game.

What we have a problem with is the massive imbalance between what is added to the PE every month in comparison to what cosmetics are added to the game every month. On top of that, they are now selling curses for real money instead of making them hard unlocks in game, as they should be. It's a waste of potential for more money.
So you're just not going to acknowledge how disappointed people are over you putting curses into the emporium? I get that the studio needs to make money but if your game with cosmetic only progression already has every single type of cosmetic bar one in the paid shop, taking that one, final type of cosmetic there as well feels extremely bad.

The Emporium has to have the best cosmetics. Otherwise hardly anyone would buy them. Then Microsoft will shut down SoT for not making a profit.

@@macewindow149 The recolors let them reuse existing assets and possibly make a sale to someone that likes the new colors more. While I would prefer skins with customizable colors, I know that implementing that would require a lot more work. I'd rather them use most of their art dept on assets for the Sandbox updates.
Rare, we don't care what you sell, we care about the quality differential between paid and earnable cosmetics in a game built on cosmetic progression.

It's interesting that the Emporium needs a search feature to find stuff, but the outpost shops don't.
The outpost shops are way more detailed in finding things than the emporium love, you can filter what you have and don't have and there's a section for every type of clothing, equipment, and weapon, whereas the emporium has costumes, clothing, weapons, equipment, and emotes all under one tab mixed into each other, that's the issue
@@michaeltenn983 They're still ignoring a lot of feedback regarding changes that could easily be implemented. Rare handles SoT well most of the time but the Pirate Emporium is a clear example of them prioritizing DLC over free content.

I don't understand why anyone cares about emporium curses, what rare said makes perfect sense and applies to the curse drama. They aren't the same curses that you can get in game. It's like people complaining about emporium outfits because they have a ferryman set, it's completely nonsensical.
Who cares, if you see someone with that curse it just means they bought it😂, doesn’t affect you at all, it only becomes an issue if they put earnable curses in the emporium
@@hugegamer8004 For over six years, curses have always been earnable through commendations, and they were a sign of accomplishment. Of course it is a big deal when INSTEAD of being earned through playing, you can just casually buy one. Your point about outfits makes no sense either. They've always been available through Pirate Emporium.

For over six years curses have been ONLY obtainable by in-game accomplishments and commendations, and then suddenly they start appearing in the Plunder Pass and Pirate Emporium. Curses as a category have always been untouched by microtransactions, until recently.

@@jhendricks7822 NO ONE CARES ABOUT THIS!!!!!! We care that the main game cosmetics, the only progression system the game has, are getting less attention than the paid cosmetics. THAT'S IT. It's not that there are paid cosmetics at all, it's not even that they're overpriced (25 bucks a ship is kinda hefty though), it's that they're putting more effort towards profit than they are player experience. No one is complaining that they're asking for money at all. We all know they can't work on cents a day.

You do get one for killing a load of coral skeletons, but that one takes a awhile

Lets be clear: People aren't complaining because the Pirate Emporium exists, people complain because it is unhealthy for the games progression and longevity outside of purely funding Rare. Your lack of acknowledging that fact is proof that you hear us but don't care.
You add a whole new curse for $10 in the Emporium exclusively when all the gold shop gets is an ugly ragged pair of used boots. Many long time players agree that after hitting pirate legend progression takes a back seat because anything worth working towards isn't worth it or rewarding. Many players are sitting on millions and millions of gold because there's nothing worthwhile to spend it on. Rare is constantly making new cosmetics and content that could very easily fit into an update for Hunter Call (a very neglected trading company) but instead you lock it behind over priced bundles. All the good cosmetics are exclusive to the Pirate Emporium.
If content was evenly distributed between both the Emporium and ingame gold shops in terms of quality and quantity, no one would be complaining. You only update the Emporium.
You're getting greedy, it shows, we notice and you ignore us. Professional as always Rare, keep sweeping your problems under the rug.

We had a problem with a curse being in the emporium. Yes i understand its a business but curses shouldnt be a paid for cosmetic. They should be one of the very few difficult but achievable in game cosmetics.
If they really don't see any other way to really make money without adding curse to the shop then at least have it be a cool quest or something to do to get it
I think it would be fine aa long as they keep the actual hard curses only available through doing it in the game like the skelaton curse of athenas blessing.

Curses are the “end game cosmetics” if you will. So no I don’t think there’s enough earnable curses. It’s also not about the price point it’s about them being locked behind a credit card swipe. It could be for $1 and I’d say the same thing. Put it behind a commendation like getting all the shadow storm fish instead.

This game has created so many relationships and memories between thousands of people. We love this game. And if rare needs more money more power to them. I know the game has lots of magical and loud aspects, some of which I really enjoy, but ultimately I wish some of the clothes and especially ship cosmetics were a bit more realistic and looked more accurate to the time period

The fix is easy but it’s more about Microsoft than rare. I think we all know what would stop cheaters but in order for that to happen it would cut Microsofts earnings. Microsoft needs to not allow pc players to use the Xbox pc game pass. Pc players who cheat can keep cheating because they do not have to pay for the whole game again just 1$ through the pc game pass and they’re back on the seas.

The emporium update didn’t address any issues we had, we want as much love and care being put into the non paid shops and rewards as the emporium. Not every cosmetic needs to be locked behind a paywall. Also give us more skeleton curse cosmetics! This would be the perfect season to bring some! Like flameheart cosplay items for the skelly curse or other cool additions

And we learned to wait because they probably gonna nerf the comms to hell after the fact. Also they don't ignore the issues, they are just too incompetent to fix them, evident by 3 or 4 updates and the shipwright and merchant still scamming despite them trying, somehow it just gets worse.
I love how they completely ignored what we actually want from emporium changes and focused on adding a new filter. It’s just sad tbh

@@jewelz4952 lol it’s absolutely not my PC. It was the exact same when I was on series x and literally any sot player with over 300 hours probably knows what I’m talking about. Galleons are laggy even when no other boats are around.
@@dxkpI used to play on Xbox it has lots of issues but ps5 sot is smooth even with two galleons at least in my experience

Also ya'll didn't learn with the shrines. So with the ship you have to get off and do an entire underground temple, so once again someone has to wait on the ship.

People just don't like that curses are in the emporium. They were the one cosmetic that was just from gameplay. Doing that while also releasing two new weapons that only have a few basic non-emporium cosmetic options at the same time makes it sting all the more.
but the real questions people have..... with the burning blade also have to deal with random server merges? i imagine not as that could be broken having a burning blade just show up on a server that already has 1 present..... but also since it becomes your NEW ship temporarily.. what if you were part of an alliance? does it kick you out of the alliance? i would imagine so as flameheart is pro chaos and anti friends.
and since we're on the good train of thought, can you raise an emissary with it, or is it just base value, and if you can, can it be any emissary or just reapers, and if not, is it automatically reapers or can you just not do it.
Also, would it come stocked with curse balls, since canonically flameheart abused curse balls to destroy everybody.

It would be awesome if your sword and other weapons would go onto your belt when your not holding them. It would add a dash of realism and let you passively show them off.
Please increase the money/loot gained from skull of siren song, shrines and commodities. These are all amazing features with so much potential but have been simply forgotten about, and go completely under the radar for new players. Buffing them would enriched the sandbox without having to add any new content

What are you talking about? So many trinkets pay way more than two handed items. Mermaid gems, bounty skulls, athena trinkets.
Yes it makes sense to be able to sprint with trinkets but don't pretend it's a balance thing. There has never been any rhyme or reason to any of it

Rare, there should be an option to enable friendly fire for crews in the 'my crew' tab to let crews duel to get better at PvP and for fun when sailing long distances or to deal with that annoying crewmate! To stop trolling in open crew, all members of the crew have to vote to toggle friendly fire (like vote to brig/scuttle etc) or each individual pirate enables it for themselves but others have to enable it before they can do damage to each other.
Could make the more lengthy sails feel a bit less tedious. This feature does not work across crews, other crews can do damage to other crews whether their friendly fire is on or off. Seems like an interesting idea?

Ok but why is there a curse in the emporium? look I get it you need money and I actually appreciate lots of stuff in the emporium but curses are meant to be an item that you work towards earning in game because of a story or something, putting one in the emporium kinda feels like a joke. But that aside, LETS GO!!! THIS SEASON SOUNDS SO COOL!!! NEW WEAPONS A NEW BOSS FIGHT AND SHIP, NEW FORTS! AND A BUNCH MORE AWESOME STUFF!! I CANT WAIT!!!

I can deal with the emporium issues. This game has come a loooong way from what it was when it first came out.
Stop adding stuff that takes you out of the main world. Siren treasuries are annoying enough, but now skeleton camps?
Add some features to the big islands to make them more interesting to visit instead of adding more small POIs

i have an idea for the camps if there was skeleton workers in there with pickaxes and stuff and when you go down there they will notice and attack its like a new enemy
What part of that is sidestepping the emporium issue? They said they need the money, they do, simple as. If you want the game to keep going they need money, making cool cosmetics for people to buy is a good way to get that money that doesn't negatively affect anyone. "Curses should be achieved" Doesn't really make sense. You can still flaunt them as a status symbol if you want. Everyone knows which one is bought and which are earned, it doesn't make any difference.

Season 13, the season dedicated to the strongest skeleton there ever was (besides maybe the Cap'n), and no mention of a single new skeleton curse cosmetic? This is literally the perfect time to flesh the curse out!
the emporium ui is horrible to navigate. so hopefully filtering will make it better. however the popup advertising stuff in the store is annoying. i get you hope to grab the attention of people who might not be aware of some cosmetics but for me its annoying seeing this pop up 20x a day
Unfortunately that’s how advertising works. If you’re not noticing it much then it’s not doing its job.

Anybody else think it's kinda weird that the objective once pledged to flameheart and in control of the ship, is to sail around islands where you have to get off said ship and do pve temples?

What about Merchant Alliance? Crates of Tea are two handed loot items but they sell for like 300 gold lol

People need to remember that all the fun stuff we enjoy in this game, all the free updates (the FACT that we still get updates almost 7 years deep, etc.) is funded by the Emporium sales that everyone loves to hate on. This game would have died out 5 years ago if the execs (and shareholders) at Microsoft weren’t getting their paid dues every so often. It’s just the reality of doing business in a corporate world and folks need to chill out on hacking on Rare for constantly updating the Emporium.
It was always a rough experience for my son and I being deep into a dungeon, solving puzzles, just for your ship to be sunk on the surface. Sounds like these cool Flameheart dungeons are going to be more of the same :/ only way to combat this, is have someone up on the surface as lookout and they miss out on the experience, right?
This is ultimately inevitable, but it can be avoided.
You can park your ship behind parts of the island, turn off lights, return to the surface to check the horizon every few minutes, etc
If you can see the whole horizon is clear of ships, that means you’re safe for two minutes or so. Nothing can get to you that quickly.

Safer Seas is a private server you can play the game on, but you receive limited rewards. It’s perfect for the tall tales though. Monkey Island is my favorite

Suggestions in the replies are valid but yeah, bad game design. Forts have a lookout point built in, ashen bosses obscure vision on purpose... so it's not like they don't get it. Feels lazy.
