    VIDEO INTRODUCTION:
Diamond Industry | Surat - Diamond City of India | Business Case Study - Think School
Surat in the Indian state of Gujarat, known as the diamond city of India, is set to open the world's largest diamond market. The diamond industry of India is one of the most valuable industries in the country, commanding a staggering 93% market share in the diamond mining, diamond cutting, and polishing market of the world. The Diamond trade was initially dominated by Jewish diamond dealers in Belgium, but then the Jain community of India revolutionized the industry by focusing on small diamonds, which were largely ignored by the Jewish traders. Jain traders created a high-quality, low-cost manufacturing process in Surat and built a powerful network for distributing diamonds. This enabled the Jain community to become a leading force in the global diamond industry. Moreover, the Government policies and geographical advantages further bolstered India's domination of the diamond industry, making it an $18.6 billion market employing around 800,000 people.
    So, now the question is,
How did the Jains take control of the diamond industry of the world???
How did they beat the Jews of Belgium?
What was the business strategy that made them so successful?
What business lessons can you learn from the incredible community of Jains??
Let's find out the answers in this video. Also don't forget to LIKE this video and SUBSCRIBE to the CHANNEL for more business case studies.

I am from Belgium. I was born in India but moved to Belgium when I was only 6 months old. My father was and is working in the diamond industry in Belgium (Antwerp). A lot of Jains started going to Belgium to understand the diamond market and I lived in Antwerp my whole life with other Jains, all of our parens were working in the diamond industry. Feels good to be proud of my community and see the recognition it deserves.

They always avoid Locha (Trouble) situation in their life so maximum time is spent only in family and business and it is only key to success.

Jain community is god's gift to India.
    .
It's not just trade, their habit of donating for common causes is legendary. Jain community in Barshi has created several drinking water tanks, numerous hospitals, schools and colleges - and their pet project is Nargis Dutt Cancer hospital - they gave land, medical equipments, gifted money to build several wards too.
    .
I am Hindu who is forever in debt of this community. Thank you Jains from bottom of my heart 🙏

Most of labour to most small or big Diamond cutter, traders are Patels from Saurastra. My uncles, my in-laws literally 50% of people I know are in Diamond business (others in Textile). Ganesh, I'm learning and watching your videos from the very beginning but today in this video I think you talked about relations in business which is very crucial in business and personal relationships. As I'm coming from business family so want to share that there are many things more beyond than money and fame in business. It must be ethical, have some good relationship etc.
Not only Jain, but I would say Gujarat is the state where each and every person in business helps a lot and they know that if we help each-other that bond will repay somewhere and somehow.
Thank you for sharing this. Love from Surat.

Am belongs to Gowdas community from Karnataka but we don’t have this kind of bonding and family attachments with in the communities getting jealousy after seeing this jains bonding and literally getting hatred with our community 🥲 everyone in our community are waiting to pulldown the others for their selfishness and political dominance 😢 really jains people are dedicated and grace for the society 🙏🏻every other community needs to learn the moral lesson from their lifes to make our livelihood better 🙏🏻
