If you earned $1 per second, then to make 1 million dollars would take you about 11 and a half days. But to make 1 billion dollars, would take you over 31 and a half years. You see, it’s easy to think of wealth in terms of rich or poor, but broadly speaking, there are arguably 5 different levels of rich, and at each level, things change very drastically. The difference between what a millionaire can do, and a billionaire can do, is simply staggering.
In this video we’ll be exploring what life is like at each of these different wealth levels, and delving into how the ultra-rich spend their money, including some of their most bizarre and extravagant purchases. But, as you’re watching, you’ll realise that one of the biggest changes that happens at each wealth level, is perspective. Because prices feel relative to how much you earn. So if you compare someone whose earning $40,000 a year with someone earning 400 million a year, it’s 10,000 times more. Which means:
A lambo that costs $300,000, to them is the equivalent of spending $30. A $10 million piece of art? Feels like $1,000. So whilst to us those purchases would feel so major, to a billionaire, it’s not even something they need to think about. And of course, when you’re that wealthy, it’s not just items and experiences you can buy. But we’ll get to that... Let’s instead start off, with the first level of rich:
The Top 1%
Even though this phrase is synonymous with being extremely rich, if your income is over about $200,000 a year, you would technically be part of the top 1% of worldwide earners. And so being in the top 1% may not make you feel quite as rich as you think. Which is why beyond this level, wealth starts being measured in net worth rather than income, as the more wealth you have, the more assets you have, and you’re probably not making your money from a salary.
So the next level of rich is a Net Worth of $10 Million - $30 Million
This levels of wealth video will look at ALL the other levels of wealth, including the difference between millionaires and billionaires. We'll also look at some of the craziest things rich people buy - including some of the most expensive items ever and rarest purchases the ultra-rich make. We'll also be visualising wealth in different ways, looking at wealth inequality, and understand how billionaires buy a lot more than just expensive items and experiences.
This post was inspired by reddit poster a1988eli (and then matched with my own research & analysis) who had spent a lot of time with several ultra-rich people, and therefore had great insights about the levels of wealth. His original comment was on the reddit post 'What do insanely wealthy people buy, that ordinary people know nothing about?'

One lesson I've learnt from billionaires is to always put your money to work, and diversifying your investments. I'm planning to invest about $30k of my savings in stocks this year, and I hope I make profits.
You are right. The best approach I feel is to diversify investments- by spreading investments across different asset classes like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown.

The last minute sums up exactly what I was thinking the whole time. Every time I lay my head on my pillow in my warm bed watching a TH-cam video, every time I turn on a faucet with clean drinkable water, every time it rains and the roof doesn’t leak. Every time I tell my still living parents I love them. Every time I listen to the quiet night with no gunshots or exploding bombs. I am richer than any billionaire, and more fortunate than most.
EDIT: Let me clarify for all the people who are taking the tone of my comment to have a jealous sort of “haha just because you’re rich doesn’t mean crap” vibe. I am simply thankful for what I already have, and no amount of money can bring back your lost loved ones. I would probably remove the part of the last sentence about “I am richer than any billionaire…”
I was actually thinking to myself that even I were to have millions in my bank account in the future, that I am actually wealthier in the present with my family around me than any financial wealth could bring me. And yes, there are many wealthy people who have both. But time comes for all of us so we should appreciate the moment instead of feeling empty for what we don’t have. That’s all.

These are very valuable rules for anybody who wants to get rich. Unfortunately, most people who will watch this video will not really be able to apply the principles. We may not want to admit, but as Warren Buffett once said, investing is like any other profession-- it requires a certain level of expertise. No surprise that some people are losing a lot of money in the bear market, while others are making hundreds of thousands in profit. I just don't know how they do it. I have about $89k now to put in the market.

By being knowledgeable about money and investing, individuals can make informed decisions about how to save, spend, and invest their money. I know someone who made over $350k in this recession influenced market, but to the best of my knowledge, it was through a financial advisor.
Yeah, financial advisors could make a lot of difference, particularly in a market such as this. Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look. I have been using an FA since 2019, and I return at least $21k ROI, and this does not include capital gain.

There was a time when we " made it here", we had jobs for everyone and the products were of high quality, then the 1% wanted everything. Now Inflation drives prices up and if Inflation is high and jobs disappear by the millions we are in a recession and maybe headed for a Depression…So be careful with your money. It may take decades to get back on pay again. Luck to all.. I've seen folks make huge 7figure profit in a crashing market and pull it off much easily in a bull market Unequivocally the crash/recession is getting somebody somewhere rich...
On occasion you can beat the market with blind luck, but I wouldn't depend on it. Having a science background there is a saying, 'Luck favors the informed', I've found it to be true, allowed me in great part to retire early.
I’ve been on both end of the spectrum, I was investing on my own for about 3years, did my own study and analysis before actually buying, things became rather difficult after the pandemic which was right about when I reached out to a Investment-Adviser for guidance. It’s been over 2 years and I’ve scaled up a stagnant reserve of $280K to $700k in just about 24months.

The whole point of wealth for me is freedom. My magic number in mind is $5million needed at 65 to not worry about anything. Am i better off investing a good portion of my income into stocks or saving my earnings to achieve this goal? Here for ideas please
Varied sources of income is wise and especially living within your means. My net worth is $2M and I can pay my bills with no stress, but I don't live like I have that. I have no complaints.
Money advice is subjective, what works for you may not work for someone else, but it's always better to plan. I got laid-off work at 46, amid covid-outbreak, and at once I consulted an advsor to handle growing my finance. As of today, I'm only 18% short of my $3m goal after subsequent investmnts.

Agreed, the role of advisors an only be overlooked but not denied. I was shocked that I made more money with investing than hard work, not even my CEO income. Earning ''return on investment'' fetched me millions within a space of 5 yrs.(But I still enjoy working)

It’s quite far from luck. I invested in some stocks myself using pure speculations. Long story short, I blew my account and lost it all with one wrong move. Jonas Herman, a licensed fiduciary is the brain behind my success. I've gotten into a plethora of assets with $12k spread across stocks (options and futures) for the short term and Roth IRA, index funds, and ETFs, for the long term. Now with over 71k in roi, I sit back and just reinvest at intervals while I handle my other businesses.
Do not forget that when it comes to trading, prices can be erratic, rising and declining quickly, often in relation to companies' policies, which individual investors do not influence. It’s pure gambling.

Thank you for making me feel blessed. At this point (I am almost 52 years old), I am healthy, in early retirement, and with all my basic needs met daily. I may not be able to travel to different countries, own expensive things, or eat at fancy restaurants, but I don't really need those. What I have (peace of mind and a worry-free life) is something so many people probably just dream of. If I have at least a billion dollars, I would use those for the betterment of mankind and the environment.

So much knowledge! Absolutely free! I was never taught anything about money, I am praying and working to change that. I am 46 no retirement no savings because I made a lot of mistakes when I started investing, trying to correct that now. Already have a few thousand$ saved up to invest for long term. Just buy low sell high. Stick with a good company by either not selling when it’s going lower and/or buying more at that time. Almost always the good well managed companies will come back strong at some point. The other is to get yourself a financial-advisor that can provide you with entry and exit points on the shares/ETF you focus on.
Well, I recommend you make a diversification plan because it's been harder to build a good financial portfolio since COVID. My colleague suggested I hire an advisor. I did and I've actually made over $926K with my advisor's help during this market crash. She uses defensive strategies to protect my portfolio and make profits despite the ups and downs.

Unless you've had the opportunity to experience the level of Wealth a Billionaire has, there's just no words that can describe it. As a Professional Chef I've worked for many millionaires, then I catered a Christmas party for the Managers of a company whos owner was worth about 2.5 Billion Dollars. Upon arriving at his estate we came up to a "Guard "Shack". This "shack was a 2,000 sqft house with guard dogs and heavily armed security. After letting us through we drove for about 10 minutes through some beautiful scenery, even passing a heliport, and I couldn't understand why I wasn't seeing any homes (until I later learned that this was all of his property). Upon arriving at the place the party was to be held, we came upon a really nice looking house that would sell in 2022 for about 500K - 750K in my area, but certainly not what I was expecting. What I came to learn was this was his "Game Room". His "Game Room" was over 3,000 sqft and had a Game area containing a bunch of video and Pinball machines, then I saw the beauty salon he got his hair cut, and finally an Olympic sized indoor swimming pool and this was not counting the sitting area with a fireplace seating about 30ppl, and this was just the inside. When looking into the "garage" that had 4 large sized doors on it, I saw it contained just about any outdoor vehicle you can imagine, and these were just his toys! I never did see his actual house and I can only imagine what it would be like. And finally, when talking to him, he was upset because his wife hated driving to the city to play golf,(20 min drive) so his next "project" was to put a full sized Golf Course on his property!! There are just no words to describe what being a Billionaire is like. I will say that having this amount of wealth one must now worry about Kidnappings and other security risks to their family. In other words, the Super wealthy may not have problems like the majority of us, their problems are just different, but no less a problem..

What I like most about this video is the last part. Indeed, money is not all happiness. We can be happy despite not being wealthy. It's all about perception. A minimalist may feel they have everything while a person who's "ultra rich" can feel a sense of lost. I'm sure having that amount of wealth gets old and like an old saying that goes money can't buy happiness, it just makes like more comfortable!

Dang man, you straight up had me like, “yeah I can be billionaire and have emotional connections to fore sure!” To the Sylvester Stallone story about his son, and then realizing that no matter how much money you have, nothing can pay for the joy of raising a child, imagining the possibilities and speculating which path of life you can see them taking when they are older and watching it unfold. You can’t pay for the joy you receive when you come home and your dog is the most excited living thing to see you in the world. I remember that book "Could Be Worse". But I also think it could be better. As I am getting older I am kind of giving up on ever having certain things or experiences in my life. I have given myself unlimited funds in my mind before. There I know how I would spend some of it. But eventually I had come to think a plate that cost a dollar serves the same purpose as the plate that cost more. I imagined becoming wealthy and at one time I thought I was going to make it there. I started liking different things on my social media thinking I would get to where I could give and make a difference. There were so many different ways people needed help that eventually my feed just depressed me because all it did was remind me there are a lot of problems in this world that I can't do anything about. So, I deleted that account and started over. I've never been sure how to get to where I wanted in life. My mental health issues are so severe I am on disability pay. Some days I feel rich but other days I don't. I don't like having time and no money or money and no time. I think both of those are bothersome in their own way. Because both of my parents are dead, I consider that if I live around the same time frame I have about 20 years left in me. It could be more or it could be less. After awhile it seems you stop desiring what you can't have and start trying to learn how to enjoy what you do. I started trying to come to terms with the thought that I would never have a car again and never travel far. That maybe I could try all the flavors of ice cream at the ice cream shop before I die because of limited income. I have heard documentaries on how people don't have clean drinking water. They speak of poor working conditions such as child labor, etc. But the way it all connects seems to make it difficult. I don't know how to say it but sometimes I think the poor over here are why the poor over there have jobs because we can't afford expensive things. Then people don't want you buying from certain places because of the working conditions. But those conditions gave someone a job. So, I think even knowing some of the things people are more likely to buy what fits into their budget. Like dollar shampoo as opposed to salon shampoo that can be like $20 or more for one bottle. I got slapped in the face when I was a teenager because the girl said she didn't like my thrift store pants. I know people don't have to live like the rich do but I think a lot of how people live is to try to be happy. People often complain about how the rich spend there money. I think maybe sometimes they are trying to buy some sort of happiness kind of like a nice dinner at a restaurant. It feels good for a bit. But people also complain about how people spend their food stamps. I think people just like to complain about how others do things not knowing and understanding exactly what their circumstances are inward and out.
