We're taking a quick break from regular programming because I JUST FOUND MY BIOLOGICAL FATHER! I was adopted as a baby and after 31 years on this crazy planet, I finally got to meet my blood family who never knew I existed until last month.
This is one of MANY positive adoption stories out there and I hope it helps inspire my fellow adoptees to stay strong in your search. I found my birth mother 10 years ago and it took me another decade before I was able to find my birth father. It is not always an easy journey, but today it's a thousand times more likely that your dreams will come true than ever before thanks to DNA testing.
I sent my DNA off to both 23andMe and Ancestry to find my birth father with ZERO information about him. You just spit in a tube, mail it in, and in a few weeks you'll get your results and instantly be connected to hundreds or even thousands of family members (distant cousins and beyond). If you're lucky, you might get some close and very helpful matches! For me, one day a 1st cousin match popped up and I was able to figure it out from there. And if not, you'll still learn a lot about yourself and where you come from geographically.

I also want to share that my entire experience as an adopted child has been amazing. I always knew I was adopted, and loved that unique little fact about myself. I truly have the best parents in the world and I'm so grateful for the path I got to go down in my life because my birth mother had the courage to do what was best for me.
I grew up not knowing a single person who was related to me by blood. I had a single photograph of my birth mother and her name, and zero information about my biological father, who never knew I was born. I have always had a hunger to know my birth parents, and ever since I was a little girl I wondered if I might have siblings somewhere out there.
It's crazy that now, just a few weeks after I wasn't sure if I'd ever find my biological father, I have met, hugged, and hung out with nearly my entire blood family. I know that as an adopted child, knowing your birth family is not something you take for granted. If you get even a glimpse of where you came from, you are incredibly lucky. So right now, I feel like the luckiest person in the world.
To my mom, my dad, my birth parents, and my entire huge ever-growing family, I love you to pieces and can't wait for all the adventures that lie ahead.

I haven't seen my daughter in 10 years. I went to pick her up at daycare they told me sorry they have moved out of state. I miss my baby so much. I dream about this every night meeting my daughter. I love you Shai

My friend didn't see his kids for over ten years, they were half way across the world when his wife ran off with another. They didn't know he existed for years and against all hope, he finally heard from them at Christmas. Keep hope, keep looking! Good luck brother.

Reading "I was adopted as a baby by the best parents in the world' was the best part for me. Happy for the young lady to meet her birth father for sure, its great for her and her life.... but I really admire people who adopt and give a great life to babies and children. Who knows what life might have been like without them.

Having never met my biological mother or father, I can't imagine what kind of thoughts were swirling around in her head. I don't know if I could handle it, but I'll probably never know. I am happy for how this turned out for her!

A very great story, really fantastic. It must be a crazy feeling to have found your biological father after so many years and to have taken him in your arms. You can really see the joy in the movie.
It also takes a lot of courage to do something like that. It's exciting in any case.
I never really got to know my birth father, he died after being in the hospital for over 2 years when I was a little boy (6 years old). What I do remember is that we could only ever see him through a window and had to use a phone to talk to him. When you are so young there are hardly any memories left to cling to. Only blurred pictures and the stories of the relatives I had. But since there was a violent quarrel in the family at some point (the reason I do not know), this was also very sparse and so inevitably began to forget.
Many years later I met a young woman. We fell in love and began a life together. When I was introduced to the family, I met her brother. Again some weeks passed until I learned that this brother had a girlfriend. She was a very good dressage rider. One day, at the local riding club where she trained, I met this lady's parents. We all sat together at the table and when I was introduced the father of her said "Höhne.... I once knew a Paul Höhne, but I know he is deceased" This man was my father's boss and even at his funeral.
So I found someone who was able to tell me about my biological father and I learned everything that my family had never told me. Some of it was not very pleasant but I didn't care in this situation. Very slowly I was able to get a picture, even if only in bits and pieces. With this information I began to ask my relatives and then I learned a lot more about him. I even received an old photo.
I could never hold him in my arms like you could, but I found someone who could tell me without me looking for it.
Life writes sometimes quite curious stories.

I'm so happy for you! I was adopted as well. I have 14 birth siblings. Out of all of us I was the only one given up for adoption. Thankfully, I was raised from birth by a wonderful couple who adopted 5 other kids before me. They were unable to have children.
I tried to re-unite with my parents numerous times but to no avail . I am so glad this girl found her father and mother again and great blessings to the love filled couple who raised her . This is a wonderful and joy filled re-union . Only love can light the mirror of the soul.

My dad is 83 n me 63 it seems hard to meet him he is 2400 miles away. My 3 sisters dont want me its so hard. But the dad says he wants to make it right. My sisters said its scam. We did anceztry dna test n its poaitive hes my dad. Did u make your self legal??>,

I grew up without a father I'm 32 now and it's been 27 years I just recently found him but I'm not ready to meet him and build a relationship. I've only spoken to him once over the phone so I'm looking for some courage from others who are going through Similar situations.

I met my real parents like you but my dad pulled a gun and told me to get off his property....my mom spit on me and said she regretted that she didn’t get an abortion. It was a wonderful experience like this
