- Hannah’s dad said no to getting a dog but yes to getting a cockatiel. When Neil joined the family he was a bit timid, but after a few weeks his unique personality started to shine. He makes little noises when he’s up to no good and loves pretending to drink Hannah’s coffee in the mornings. From trips to see the ducks and his tech savvy skills, Neil and Hannah have formed an unbreakable bond.

Cuddle Buddies is a channel for people who talk to their little friends and listen to what they have to say. Because every animal can teach us something. They can be goofy and deep, we just let the animals speak.

This sounds much like the experience of almost EVERY first-time parent. You wonder if your child is ever going to learn to speak. Then, once they do, you wish they could be quiet more often. Also, they mimic your behaviors and words. So watch your language!
So true! 😂 The joys of parenting a little mimic.
Well owning a pet is different than being a parent
His singing along with the _ting ting ting_ of your coffee stirring is delightful.
No disrespect to you nor the person in the video, but that isn't stirring...
Makes coffee time even better.
You’re gonna have him for a very very long time
I had mine for 25 years, reason I won't get another as it will out live me
@@hilaryjohnson6308 you could as long as you have a backup plan for him/her,
I was just wondering, how old do they typically live for?
@@gogogg4610 some parrots can live up to 80+years
@@gogogg4610 I did reply to your comment but apparently screwtube deleted it cause I said some parrots can live up to 80 years or so.
I hope you get him a mate. Cockatiels are social birds and mate for life. He deserves to live a full life. He’s beautiful. ❤
I am not so sure. Plenty of birds are solitary animals with their humans and live full lives, provided their care and diet is looked after and they are given plenty of interaction.
@@houseofno WRONG, owls maybe but not parrots, they're very social animals and keeping 1 alone is just WRONG,,, they do not live their happiest lives alone in a cage when the owners leave , quite the opposite
@@user-vv2pf1sy4mif she gets him a friend it should be same age and same sex. It's easier that way.
@@karlajaeger2082 yes
The most important thing is preventing them believing that you're their mate. Another one, even if it's younger, if it's mature can be the mate, and you're just their friend.
He’s a very happy cockatiel!👍❤️
Have you asked him??
The signature noise is what I affectionately refer to as "dinosaur." Soon as I hear that, I know my lil man is up to no good hahaha 🤣
My family had Karl, a very social Cockatiel for about 20 years. 'Karl' started laying eggs after some years, but kept her name. She loved to help my mother with needles, my mother would pin the needle into the fabric and Karl would pluck it out the other side. Most favourite, but least effective, was laying puzzle. When we took our eyes of it, pieces would disappear, being found behind cupbords, between sofa cushins, inside planters or drawers or at the bottom of the toothbrush glasses.
IF you can handle a bird you can handle a dog with ease! Cute little felllah.
Really? I would think taking care of a bird would be easier.
@@erencanaslan7989 its easier to take care of a bird if you neglect it, but making it happy takes a considerable amount of effort
Love when birds come out of their shell - he feels safe
i had one and it flew away never came back.made me sad for a week.very likeable birds
I love the way you take him on walks and he’s free range. Lucky bird

A very friendly dinosaur!
Have you ever tried to give him his own mini-cup of coffee? That might be an interesting experiment.
I'd be careful with the coffee or get advice from a vet before doing that.
that is the cutest shi* i've ever seen.
They are the best company, and cheeky.
He is completely frigging amazing!
I am SO glad I stopped to watch this! What an adorable bird with such a wonderful personality! I'd love to have a bird like that! Thanks for sharing. 😊❤

What a precious little soldier! Cockatiels are v pretty, but not all are as happy and sorted as your Neil. (Neil! Love the name- so human)
Thank you! 😊 Neil does have a special charm, doesn't he? We're so happy to share his adventures and bring a bit of joy to everyone.

He's precious ❤ thank you for sharing. I miss my boy Vern! He was a sweet baby . He free roamed the house and would sleep on my pillow with me. He was very quiet until my father would come in to wake me up and then he'd sing me awake. He and Spike, the iguana, had free roam of the house and were pals. The day my grandma walked in and saw the lizard on the kitchen floor and the bird dive bomb her was the day we had to put them away when guests came over and we weren't home😂 she screamed and Spike tried to run away.... on the tile floor. He obviously didn't get far, but grandma laughs every time she tells the story and says, "I don't know who was more afraid, me or that poor lizard!"
Just got a dog....trouble most days. Teaching me patience.
Awesome, bless you both ❤❤
He’s beautiful! ❤️🦜❤️
Such a cutie patootie!!
She thought birds were less work than a dog? 😂😂😂 like having triplet toddlers in the form of one bird. My rescue gets chaotic at times. One bird acts crazy they all act crazy 🎉
Haha, you’re so right! Birds can be quite the handful! 🐦🎉 Neil definitely keeps Hannah on her toes, but their bond is worth every bit of the chaos. Thanks for sharing your experience! 😊
I LOVE this baby! Sooooo cute!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
He,s great.
That's a great cat !! :D
Wiggle wiggle
Peek-A-Boo!
dads probably like: "i should have gone whit the dog"
Beautiful ❤
He's cute.❤❤❤
"a dog is hard work, lets get a bird" ................................................
Adorable duo 🙏🥰❤️🇨🇦
I was at a friends house once and she had a blue parrot, and her ex boyfriend who had not been by for 2 years knocked on the door and as soon as that door opened that parrot instantly freaked out and flew to him and was so happy to see him and was all over him WOW thats when i saw the intelligence of our avian friends
You’re a very lucky young lady! Australia has some amazing birds, like the budgerigar, the cockatoo, the cockatiel the galah and more. They make wonderful pets and are loyal companions for many years. I had a budgie from when I was 8 until I was 14 years old. He was a little darling and I cried for hours when he passed away. He chattered away to his friend in the mirror and loved to land on us when he had his daily free flights. I miss him so much! (I’m 71 now). ❤️😊🇦🇺🦘
Love it❤
Neil - love his name and him!
Birds are alot of work 💯😍❤️🥰
"Don't get a dog, they're hard work."
**proceeds to get one of the hardest to own animals instead**
Had a pair of cockatiels years ago. Huge cage but also free range. Never a peep from either of them though….not sure why not
Because you did the right Thing! You had a PAIR ! 👍It's an animal cruelty to keep them alone!
Sorry for my english, its not my language!
@@gustavgans7794 always bought my animals in pairs. Thought they would need a friend. Wondered why they were so quiet. Your English is perfect, 👍
That's a strange dog you've got there. 😂
My cockatiel used to drink coffee with me every morning.😂😂I miss him very much❤
Somedays I wish my bird was mute.
Kids today and their technology 🤣🤣🤣
😂❤
I had a cockatiel for 15 years, Oscar, he could do the wolf whistle perfectly, and sat on the window sill and whistled it all the girls . We were on the 10th floor, they started looking up and looking around trying to find out who was whistling 😂
THANK YOU
He’s def entertaining ☺️☺️
❤❤❤
I suddenly had a duty to find someone who could adopt two 10 year old cats.
That was my best failure and they were the best companions ever for the next 10 years!
Animal companions are the best, especially when you began with no idea what you were doing.
HE PUT THE RING ON HIM SO HE COULD WEAR IT
My favourite genre of comedy is when parents shoot themselves in the food because they didn't want certain pet and ended with something much more troublesome.
My neighbours kid wanted a pet, mostly she wanted a dog, but anything fluffy and cuddly would do... so her mother bought a tortoise. Jokes on her, kid grew up, move out and mother was left with the never dying tortoise that was headache for her since she likes to travel and move a lot while someone have to care for the pet.
Other hilarious situation was when one of my friends really wanted pet rat... but her father absolutely banned rats since they're "scary and gross". She started keeping bunch of venomous spiders instead.
^^; With parrots, they can mimick the sound of a dog barking, so you got a dog in the form of a bird!
Also, our first cockatiel was a male, and out of the three of us in the apartment household (Me, Mom and Dad), I was the only one he followed around! Got to the point where anytime I brushed my teeth (Since he comes into the bathroom with me), he'll make a sound like he's brushing his teeth!
But actually, he picked up that sound of my grandma's golden retriever, when we lived with her temporarily!
Awwww❤❤❤
It wasn't mute. It was on recording mode.😊
But becarefull, once it has been frightened by a cat or anything else it can fly away or never go out from the cage. My dad found a long time ago an injured male cockatiel. He stayed with us for 25 years. He was my little brother.
❤❤
You thought it was mute after only three days? You really did get that bird without knowing much about them huh? Glad it all worked out.
Reminds me of an old pet of mine who was super interested in drinks mugs, and would climb up on to the rim of a full one to check the contents. If it was coffee, he would only sniff at it, but if it was tea he would sip a few mouthfuls. His favourites, though, were mashed potato and gravy. He loved those so much that, if you weren't careful, he would land in the middle of your Sunday roast and tuck in!
Thanks for sharing that adorable memory about your old pet's love for mashed potatoes and gravy - birds definitely have unique tastes sometimes! 🥰
❤
My sister has one that I handraised and she hot him as a baby. He is 17 yesrs old now. She got two but one if them died fairly young so Wuggie has been an only bird for a long time. He talks and whistles and all kinds of other sounds. When he hesrs my voice on the phone he starts saying “what chee doing?” and “I love you baby!”. He’s a darlin!
