Hi Ben!!😀😀 It is called a 3 point hitch draw bar. They make a bracket that slides over it and attaches to the arm to stop the bar from spinning. You should be able to find them at a tractor supply by the draw bars and top links. Otherwise the ball pulls pretty hard on the latch system on your hitch. Take care my friend!! 😀😀 Logger Al
If your not going to far just use a 2" ball or one that fits the hole and the trailer with out burning a new hole. Where are your burning googles, you are hurting your eyes and could ruin your good eye glasses. Take it from someone who knows. You also could have put another pc. of steel on your hitch and bolted it on and then put your ball on to that pc. with a 2" 5/16 ball on that.
Don't cutit!! You'll lose the strength and it'll fail on you when you least want it too!! It's tempered steel and you just compromised it. Do yourself a huge favor. Throw it away!!
Should have taken it to get drilled out properly, would not have cost the earth, don't go slipping into 'tight farmer' mode , that bar is weakened in the middle now. looks like you're an accident waiting to happen by the way you were fiddling with that torch, stick with what you're good at when you find out what that is.

Using a smaller ball to just ferry your trailer around the yard is perfectly ok.
That's what I do! No use to torch the sway bar. Now the hole is too big for anything else!!
What you need is a trailer mover! You can buy them online. They take a standard receiver from your truck and hitch to the 3pt on your tractor.

There is a bracket you can buy that bolts to the lift arms to keep that draw bar from flipping over on you when hooking up to the trailer...

you only should open the valve on the acetylene tank 1/4 turn so you can shut it off quickly in an emergency
I'm guessing the regulator is also turned up higher than it needs to be

Get a CountyLine Drawbar Lock from Tractor Supply to keep it from turning
I had to see it to believe it.
Use the bucket on the front of the tractor to move it. You won't have to cut anything. Plus you can see where your going a lot easier
