The only part of GTA V's story I truly hate and the reason I hate Trevor. Lost and Damned will always be my favorite Episode from Liberty City. Rockstar knew it was the most popular, despite the fact TBoGT had the most features (like parachutes). But TLaD... that one had the best story telling of the three. I don't know who at Rockstar decided that turning a guy who was against taking drugs into an addled meth head to be killed by Trevor was a good idea... but apparently the fact they knew GTAV would still be popular regardless was still a slight to us TLaD fans. And then as part of Trevor's intro mission you have to kill Terry and Clay to get 100%. Like seriously? Turning the first gang since the Groove Street Families (GTA SA) we all liked and felt a connection with into our enemies? Even in GTA Online? I hate all the missions where we have to kill the Lost MC.
technically Vic Vance still is the only GTA protagonist that died on the 3D era and Johnny the only one that died on the HD era, since Johnny is a protagonist from HD era they can't meet each other but ye... none of them deserved their fate. especially after everything Johnny and Vic went through on their storylines...
and sadly folks like Trevor are the type of people dumb players can relate to more. So of course he's gonna be glorified to hell and back for being exactly the type of person players who don't care about the characters or story are.

Rockstar, after seeing some of the backlash for how serious the story was compared to San Andreas, essentially decided to remake it, and make the story way more reminiscent of a high budget blockbuster action film. That's not a problem inherintly, I don't have an issue with both serious and fun games existing, the only problem is that it seemed that they really tried selling Trevor as this badass psycho by killing Johnny, which felt like it didn't make much sense, especially considering how TLAD ended with Johnny essentially giving up on Ashley for all the shit she's put him through. It would make more sense for a different biker gang to have been made for San Andreas, or even include the Angels of Death, rather than the Lost, who were all but gone by the end of 2008.
Sure does, gets your blood pumpin'. I sure wish they would bring back some side missions or something in the next game. Probably my favorite expansion.

Trevor is a character with interesting potential. If they had put him into a story that didn't spoil him and have everyone roll over to make things work out in his favor, he could have been a good example of how giving into your impulses ruins your life. Instead, he's just a "haha crazy" character who is unpredictable except when it's inconvenient for the sake of the story for him to be unpredictable. Up to the point Trevor and Michael reunite, we see Trevor kill indiscriminately and go on mass rampages over the tiniest slight, and even makes claims about "coming to shit on his doorstep", but then, just because it would be inconvenient for what the writers wanted, he's suddenly willing to be Michael's lapdog again even after learning that he's living in a big mansion, working with the FIB, and suspecting that he sold him and Brad out to the cops.
I ended up never playing it for a while after getting stuck at the mission where you steal the prison bus a few years ago, I did get the complete edition on steam not long ago and plan on finishing this

Tlad and RDR are extremely similar, and I don't think it was a coincidence, Johnny is extremely similar to John Marston in many ways - Such as: - Their names - Their wives/girlfriends being used by other gang members - Them being betrayed by their leader and eventually having to hunt down their leader - A person betrayed their gang and that same person sucked up to the leader - They both had to work for a corrupt person in power in exchange for a deal - They both had a close loyal friend whom they lost. - Etc... I could probably go on and on lol. It's a popular theory that Johnny was a prototype for John Marston. I don't exactly think there's only ONE type of gang story you can tell. San Andreas was fairly different from RDR and TLAD imo; there were some similarities like the betrayal of close friends and working for people in power for a deal, but in SA, CJ branched out to things particularly in the part of the game whenever CRASH drops you off in the forest. CJ worked with the mafia, started his own business with Cesar, worked with The Truth, etc.

Trevor killing Johnny in a way seemed like some kind of statement from Rockstar that they were displeased with GTA IV compared to V, so they were basically saying "out with the old and in with the new", sure V looked fancy, driving and shooting was better, but IV and both of it's spinoffs/DLC had a very good story in my opinion, especially the base GTA IV game, it just got hampered by an under performing engine.
I don’t think they were displeased with it, I just think they were hammering the point home that GTA V wasn’t gonna be a dark and gritty story like GTA 4. Also it makes sense for Johnny to die like that because he’d do anything for Ashley, even follow her to Los Santos and get killed

Trevor *kills entire lost chapter* still runs away from an old man and an unskilled two bit hood. *get's shot countless times, and is involved in many crashes* still crashes car into wall and can't get up afterwards. R* completely contradicted his character in the A ending
he died because he couldn't believe he was betrayed by a friend again. he could have fight franklin and michael and maybe kill them, but he just give it up. he was sayin "take a fucking shot", so they did it.
You should know that he trusted Franklin and didn't expect Franklin to turn against him, Trevor didn't want to kill his friends so he ran away instead, even when he is in a pool of gasoline you can hear him saying "I thought i was the one Judas... i am surrounded by them" then he cries and coughs up the gas in despair and just gives up, Trevor is emotional and you should know that.

AlexDeGhost The lost was pretty much destroyed by the end of the lost and damned. Trevor only picked off what was left, which wasn't much. The gang during their prime would've ended trevor in a heartbeat.

Tlad and RDR are extremely similar, and I don't think it was a coincidence, Johnny is extremely similar to John Marston in many ways - Such as:
- Their names
- Their wives/girlfriends being used by other gang members
- Them being betrayed by their leader and eventually having to hunt down their leader
- A person betrayed their gang and that same person sucked up to the leader
- They both had to work for a corrupt person in power in exchange for a deal
- They both had a close loyal friend whom they lost.
- Etc... I could probably go on and on lol.
It's a popular theory that Johnny was a prototype for John Marston. I don't exactly think there's only ONE type of gang story you can tell. San Andreas was fairly different from RDR and TLAD imo; there were some similarities like the betrayal of close friends and working for people in power for a deal, but in SA, CJ branched out to things particularly in the part of the game whenever CRASH drops you off in the forest. CJ worked with the mafia, started his own business with Cesar, worked with The Truth, etc.

Trevor killing Johnny in a way seemed like some kind of statement from Rockstar that they were displeased with GTA IV compared to V, so they were basically saying "out with the old and in with the new", sure V looked fancy, driving and shooting was better, but IV and both of it's spinoffs/DLC had a very good story in my opinion, especially the base GTA IV game, it just got hampered by an under performing engine.

Trevor *kills entire lost chapter* still runs away from an old man and an unskilled two bit hood. *get's shot countless times, and is involved in many crashes* still crashes car into wall and can't get up afterwards. R* completely contradicted his character in the A ending
he died because he couldn't believe he was betrayed by a friend again. he could have fight franklin and michael and maybe kill them, but he just give it up. he was sayin "take a fucking shot", so they did it.
You should know that he trusted Franklin and didn't expect Franklin to turn against him, Trevor didn't want to kill his friends so he ran away instead, even when he is in a pool of gasoline you can hear him saying "I thought i was the one Judas... i am surrounded by them" then he cries and coughs up the gas in despair and just gives up, Trevor is emotional and you should know that.
