Nice review mate.am looking to get one of these to go with the Hiplock D1000 i already have.
I was looking to fit it the same way you did on your bike.
I use the hiplock over a rear wheel spoke & then over the chain, but again, it is not big enough to go over the wheel on either the front or rear.

I have the same lock, which I use on the front wheel of my GSA, along with their Core Moto for the rear when away. Both feel excellent quality, however I did experience an issue with the X1, which would not unlock. I found the key would not insert deep enough and as a result, it would not engage with the lock wafers. After removing the lock dust cover and peering into the lock, I could see a small pice of black plastic, which must have been leftover from manufacture. It took a bit of fishing out with a pair of tweezers, but once out, all was ok.
I need to drop Litelok a note on this, as I could have easily ended up cutting it off if I’d been away.

Definitely worth mentioning to them and thanks for the info I’ll feed it back to them as well if you’d like me to?

@ definitely worth keeping an eye on. And yes, you could feed it back. I tend to now put the lock through the wheel from left to right, so it is easier to look into the lock barrel if it happens again.

Hello Paul? I've got the X3 which can go over the rim of a 1300GS but it is a tight squeeze and I think it will mark the rim in time, I fitted it through the center hub like you on a rental bike. If they ask for feedback from you a clip to attach to the inside of pannier racks would be useful and like John says if they did it in a bright colour you can't forget it's on and set off as I may have done😊. I initially ordered it with the core loop but it's a very awkward item to fit somewhere on your bike so sent it back. I've recently bought the Hiplock DXXL combo which comes with a 14mm loop end 1-metre chain so I can daisy chain them all together and it fits in the bottom of any luggage easily. I can't understand why they don't make the Dlocks an inch wider and three inches longer, even though they would cost more money I think they would sell a lot more. Thanks Jay

Great feedback Jay I’ll certainly pass it on! And makes perfect sense 😎
