Always fun to watch your videos, no matter what you are doing, painting, unboxings etc. I don't paint with watercolors much but each time I watch you I want to go haul them out and do something! Thanks for your enthusiasm and inspirations! You're the best!

Curry was from the Karin markers. The arteza watercolour brush pens have individual bristles as well and I didn’t enjoy using them at all for all the reasons you’ve said here.

With these kinds of brush watercolor markers, I prefer laying the ink on a palette and using it as regular watercolor, with another brush. It prevents the harsh lines from the strokes, and gives a subdued, somewhat retro, look.
It’s kinda like having thin pots of ink you can carry around 😂
stopping the video... "pushing down on the N I P" I just can't... dunno if I should laugh or cry at this point... I wish they would have answered my email when I offered them proofreading!!!!
Wasn't the curry thing with the Karin markers? There's one "curry" that's very green, I believe.
Love Love LOVE the paintbrush trees! I miss really green places. I don't realize how brown California is until I go someplace really green. There are green places in Cali but everything has an undercurrent of brown cause I do live in a desert. Oh well. Can't have everything. Since I can't make it to the live stream I will give my 2 cents for the topic at hand. I don't think subscription boxes have had their day but might be time for a break. It's like me with Minecraft. I love Minecraft when I get a new mod pack. But then I play it for a while and get bored. Then I get nostalgic for it again and go looking for a new modpack. You could pause your sub, then when you start to miss it, resume. Maybe they will have the kinks worked out of the zine by then!
Omg, I've played Minecraft since the alpha days and I can relate sooo bad! I get bored (playing alone is just not the same as playing with other people on a server), but then I get nostalgic and I load the game back up and play for a while 😄 Maybe it is time for a break with subscription boxes (at least for me)
@@Thia-saurus I knew I liked you for some reason! Glad to find.another Minecraft addict. The modpack are tons of fun especially if you get a good questing modpack. Highly recommend! The ones where you have to figure stuff out to progress are my favourite!
@@KitarraChaosWeaver I have never tried a modpack to be honest. I watch someone stream them and watch his YT videos here and there, but I never knew which one to try because they look so intimidating 😂any recommendations? ❤

Hullo Gem, I am pretty good with watercolor painting and the first time I used watercolor brush markers it was a horrible experience! It is a completely different skill set! I was the editor of my local MUG Newsletter (MUG - Macintosh Users Group) I loved creating the paper version, but so many people wanted to move to a digital version and it was very different. I used page layout program for the paper version and when moving to the digital it was much harder to making and proofing links, the hours it took was twice or three times longer to make the digital version! It is NOT a time saver but just try to convince a bean counter that you need more time to make sure everything is working and correct! I always printed out a proof and had 2 others read through the Newsletter. I found that when I sent the digital version for proofing they missed easy corrections and sometimes links are not caught by spell correction programs they are misspelled for regular content. I enjoyed watching your experience with the supplies, I hope you are not to discouraged and I hope to see more un-boxings. Please take care, be safe and have a lovely day!
I love your little scene 😍 💚💚💚🏞️🌳🖌️🖌️🖌️🎨🖼️ It's very peaceful 💓 😊 I have the polycolor koor I noor pencils and the watercolor pencils. They are an unsung hero. I have yet to use the watercolor pencils. 😮😂 I've heard they are good as well. Indiana is very green 🍏 in the summer. The grass is soft and doesn't crunch under your feet. Which is what I grew up with in Texas. Crunchy grass and stickers. Rattlesnakes. Scorpions.
That is such a cute painting, though :) I won't be able to make it to the livestream, sadly. I'm working till 3:30PM and then I've got a driving lesson, so.... I'll probably catch the recording when I get back home

if you considers screen-sharing for recording, that is doable. it looks exactly the same as on mobile.

@@TheColourCave Depending on what works better for your workflow, there also seems to be a way to record the mobile phone screen. I guess an app maybe?

about the digital Bottle post: On your last upcrate video, i was quite a defender of the idea itself (as it fits with me personally). So when i opened my box and tested out the Newsletter, i cant put into words how disapointed i was. Links not working, things out of order, spelling mistakes and the whole look was quite lackluster (some print bottleposts in the past had little artpieces in the corner of some pages as like a nice little decoration).
The Digital Version feels like so much less work was put into it, compared to the print version.
im still gonna give Upcrate maybe 2 or 3 boxes to get it together, but honestly... the digital newsletter this time was an embaressment

I honestly think you'd have way more fun with watercolour pencils than those markers! Don't like the look of the soft nibs at all, and as you rightly say, it's completely the wrong paper for those pens (and pencils).

I really didn't like the digital bottlepost, it was a lot less in depth than the paper ones, created without much care and the prices from the products were missing, which I always really loved seeing. Overall I liked this box, but I think there has been a time for subscription boxes and it is sadly kind of running out. It's really hard to create unique boxes after such a long time. The thing you mentioned with the ink not flowing freely is due to the pens and not the paper. I tried them on different, smooth mixed media paper and struggled with the inkflow, too. You have to go really slow to make the ink flow okay.

Yeah, not the most exciting box... But at least a lot of supplies. 😂 I'm not a fan of digital zines and this one certainly didn't win me over. 😑 Messy and boring, difficult to use.
FYI though, the Polycolor actually come in 144 colours. 😊
Funny you mention the Polycolors - I completely skimmed over it in editing... after your comment I had to go back and check, and I honestly don't even remember saying 72. I may be losing my mind...
@@TheColourCave haha, it happens. 😂 And for some reason in the US KIH themselves say the range is just 72. 🤷
Lovely work. But isn't the use of internet more consuming to nature than using recycled paper (carbon print)? I don't get the logic really. I have some Ecoline markers and they also have very soft 'nip' (loved that) and when you said you don't know how to use them and I saw the resault, I felt liking just giving up 🤣
i dont know for sure, put while paper itself is recycleable (spelling?), i wonder about ink.
for personal printerink it is quite a bunch of recources that go just in the ink-container (much less the ink itself). i thinks it mostly is plastic and some metal (even (computer-)chips, so namebrand-printers can force you to buy their ink, otherwise the printer doenst read the chip and wont accept the cartridge...)
Honestly, these pens are a different beast! you know me, (not a marker fan - have I ever mentioned that?) I know I can get much better results with a paint brush! Keep trying with them!
they need someone else editing the magazine, that was just poorly done. im not a fan of any magazine, but if you are going to go digital, do it right. we have had sooo much rain lol might need to build an arc
Oh dear. There is NO excuse for not proof reading a magazine. None. Ever. And did no-one try the supplies with the paper? Well we know the answer to that. To be honest I thought the magazine was rubbish. The content seemed much less than before. And the linking to images instead of actually putting them in line is just breaktakingly idle. Dearie, dearie me. If I was a subscriber I would be cancelling. I am not against digital magazines - I subscribe to a few like that but ...
Live stream. Oh yes. And shhh because I'm WFH and this time not from a garage. Although my car is about to cost again as it's due an MOT this month and some more work on the brakes. So I'll be on multiple screens and may possibly be distracted from time to time by the support desk demands. But I'm sure I'll find time for the odd (usually very odd) comment.
Can we not talk about MOTs please? Look forward to you not being in the livestream at all 😉
