How to fix Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Crashing to Desktop CTD Exception Code 0xc0000005
Finally figured out the cause of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Crashing to Desktop CTD Exception code 0xc0000005 all the time. I couldn't finish a flight or when I did it would crash when I exited to main menu. I finally got it working stable again, and I haven't crashed to desktop once since. Still have the jitters every once and a while but at least my hours are being logged again. It's not realistic to expect this to work for everyone, but I really hope that a few of you can get back to flying again.
NOTE: I forgot to mention in the video that if Traffic AI OFF doesn’t resolve this for you, and you still see “Limited by Main thread” when it is off, keep trying other graphic settings until you get it at the point where it is mostly limited by GPU. Links for Nvidia hotfix below.
EDIT: Do me a favor and let me know in the comments below if this fixed anything for you. I'm just interested to know if this is a major reason why so many people are Crashing to Desktop or just happens to be mine. Really hoping this fixes some people's problems. Was excited to share it when I got back to flying so stayed up until 4am to get er done. Hope to see you in the skies.
