    I sincerely hope so too. This is some crazy space age equipment. I feel like this money should be invested in making sapi plates lighter and more flexible, better gear and invested in more training.

    It's a good idea but the problem I have with it is if the patrol is ambushed and that mule thing takes rounds or even an explosion all the gear on it will be destroyed and the marines will be fucked

      They could probably just have it lay down and try to protect it but I see your point. Kevlar coating might help though I guess.

      someguy1ism That ain't no pack mule. That's a weapons platform that may, if it's programmed right, out rank you one day.

    NOVA: Making things. If you want a better description of this. I'm not if it's the Making stuff Wilder, stronger, or safer. They're all on TH-cam though.

    i can see it now somewere near your home town about 50 of these things armour'ed with auto cannon and ap rifle
    galloping over a highway, entering a heavily populated area spreading out and opening fire while running down the street at full gallop where every shot is a hit non stop fire, then quiet time.
    then come the little ones and the human types

      lol
      not a fan of terminator movies ?
      well i was trying to imply a sort of scary thought of robot replacement
      but your looking at the future on this video, this is just scratching the surface of whats around the corner
      were going to be seeing this more and more
      then eventually large robotic forces that is the future
      which is going to raise real questions about ethics
      when a small group of guys can control a small army that for all intents and purposes comprise a force that is not human , just like you would play a rts

    This is so cool because it allows you to have a person in charge of Equipment like food water and ammo so cool im anxious to see what other responsibilities can come into effect because of innovations and ideas like this.

    seems better suited for things like base defense. patrols around the air strip and such.

    That's badass essentially they'll add plenty armor but all in all it could provide protection as use for good cover , more food and drinks plenty of room for equipment such as modifications for weapons. This machinery gets an 8 from me

    A donkey or mule will do the exact same thing and cost less than $100.

    • @Weisniowiki
      @Weisniowiki 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      So could a dog: but if it gets shot- it's game over. a mule or donkey would be difficult to get the supplies off-of if it's on the ground, especially in a combat-situation and the enemy would probably get what it has. Furthermore, it's still considerable to get a large animal to help our military, you have to have food for it, medications it may need (which likely would be an uncommon problem, providing the Marines need in-shape equipment/people/animals always), and they need to take the laws regarding treatment of animals into account too; even if it's in a foreign land.

    • @IndyColts317
      @IndyColts317 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A live animal is also likely to be frightened by the sounds of combat, requires food and water, and also requires rest. The robot has its own logistical requirements, but as long as it is well built and reliably programmed it is infinitely more reliable than any live animal. As to the rest of this story, all I can think of is how the f did they get this MOS? 0001 TV Reporter? LOL, I would have killed to earn the benefits I got by doing simple and cool reports for a faux tv station. Those two have to be the finest skaters the Corps has ever produced.

    • @Weisniowiki
      @Weisniowiki 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly what I was going to say (about the animal being frightened). As for the MOS, I think a very similar design was made from scientists who are non-military. But, someone with the proper MOS in our military bought the blue-prints and made improvements to fit the needs of those in a combat zone, atleast I pressume they bought them.

    • @Milo_1368
      @Milo_1368 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Animals have been on the battlefield as long as humans. You think our cavalry waited to dismount their horses and get earmuffs on them to shoot in WW1 and centuries prior?

    • @Weisniowiki
      @Weisniowiki 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      But, you see, that was before modern warfare. Once the motorcycle came into use in the military, as well as the automobile, the military's level of caring for the use of live animals went into a decline.

    An obviously expensive piece of highly vulnerable crap that under actual combat conditions will have severe limitations and can/will be easily knocked out or disabled, not to over look that its computer system can easily be jammed by a simpler laser.
    "It can cross a stream." Streams are generally quite shallow. Let's see what it can do in deep water fording and deep snow. What if an escape, withdrawal, or advancing route is strategically favorable to an operation and/or safety and survival of an individual(s) or unit(s) but the robot is unable to navigate the route? How fast can this "thing" bug out?
    All this expense, limitations, and vulnerability just to carry 400 pounds? How much fuel does it burn and what is the distance it can travel on the fuel load? There are sophisticated all-terrain amphibs that can outperform this monstrosity.
    Adapt this baby for boots on the ground combat conditions. Ripsaw

    This is just what we need, robotic animals. Not vehicles that run on electric, or solar powered homes, forget all that. We don't need to explore space, lets make more weapons for war. (I hope you sense the sarcasm). Shame on this channel for trying to make it seem "cool and trendy".
