Up until relatively recently, the combat training, tactical training etc, was done by their mother service, the Army. Many Army traditions are still alive and well in the Air Force. On a trivia note, one of the most bad ass action stars ever was in the USAF, Air Police his AFSC. Namely a certain Chuck Norris. Other my family and my body failing me so I couldn't get past MEPS, I'd have followed my dad's and both my grandfathers in their footsteps. If Security Forces was good enough for Chuck Norris, it would have been good for me too.

Fact is the body doesnt put that much effort into filtering or isnt that good at it, it needs actual water. If you have the time make your own. A lot cheaper and you can change the recipe to you personal tastes. If you go extreme get the beef in bulk and make a big batch store in airtight containers and you only do it once per year.

I actually had a staff sergeant, When I was in, Female Marine , she was excellent at looking after her young Marines, when she knew our money was tight, and we were getting antsy to get out & blow off some steam, but of course, lack the funds to do so, She would sacrifice, and buy us a pizza & beer, and give us a deck of cards , to appease us & keep us out of trouble! She, was always looking out for us all, on another occasion, I had a new young marine enter our company, only 18 years young, with a young wife & a brand new baby, She knew he was struggling to get used to military life, adding the stresses of a young family, with low financial resources, She gave me a $100 to go buy him & the baby essentials, and had me deliver it all to his home, she wanted to remain anonymous. I even went so far as to have Christmas and New year's parties for the Marines not on leave....I remembered what it was like my first couple of holidays so far away from home, so I passed it on to junior Marines too.....when I retired, I had Marines I hadn't seen for years show up because of "my kindness" shown to them....I must have did something right...and I love every one of them...
When I was in the Navy, it was the week of 4th of July. It was an “off” day for me. Which meant that we all had to go watch a 6 hour PowerPoint presentation on drunk driving and even how to safely walk up and down stairs while drunk. Not even joking. I sat there, on my “off” day, fuming that I wasted my day being told how to walk up stairs drunk.
My mom retired as a gunny and my dad retired as a first, every time we were planning to go do some shit in the Sun, planning to go outside and play, went out to do some yard work, complained of a headache, complained of a stomach ache, I heard that lovely h word.

If you have the time make your own. A lot cheaper and you can change the recipe to you personal tastes. If you go extreme get the beef in bulk and make a big batch store in airtight containers and you only do it once per year.

When I was in, Female Marine , she was excellent at looking after her young Marines, when she knew our money was tight, and we were getting antsy to get out & blow off some steam, but of course, lack the funds to do so,
She would sacrifice, and buy us a pizza & beer, and give us a deck of cards , to appease us & keep us out of trouble!
She, was always looking out for us all, on another occasion, I had a new young marine enter our company, only 18 years young, with a young wife & a brand new baby, She knew he was struggling to get used to military life, adding the stresses of a young family, with low financial resources,
She gave me a $100 to go buy him & the baby essentials, and had me deliver it all to his home, she wanted to remain anonymous.

Darin- USMC B- 85-93 some of us are like that....I retired in 2005 after 23 years... I even went so far as to have Christmas and New year's parties for the Marines not on leave....I remembered what it was like my first couple of holidays so far away from home, so I passed it on to junior Marines too.....when I retired, I had Marines I hadn't seen for years show up because of "my kindness" shown to them....I must have did something right...and I love every one of them...

When I was in the Navy, it was the week of 4th of July. It was an “off” day for me. Which meant that we all had to go watch a 6 hour PowerPoint presentation on drunk driving and even how to safely walk up and down stairs while drunk. Not even joking. I sat there, on my “off” day, fuming that I wasted my day being told how to walk up stairs drunk.
