- Hey Guys!,
Today I am making everyone's favourite!! British Baked Beans from Heinz.

I am going to try this recipe and pressure can it, although I will adjust it for quantity. Will try 4 pints first, and then I can double it for my big canner. I truly love the way that so many "baked bean" recipes are cooked entirely stove top. We all need more serendipity in our lives.
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm thinking bout them beans.
Yummy!!! Well done. You need a sausage on that plate 😋
love your video too!!!
Thank you. Next time we meet we should bring a sample of each and do some of each on toast 😋
Thanks Mate , tried it ,worked out great! Scotsman in Canada.Cheers !
Yey!!! I`m glad you like it!! nice to hear from a fellow Scot!! .
Those beans look perfect! I rhink you can use lima beans as well to make baked beans!
Thank you! Yes I heard you can! As you mention it I'm making a batch of beans tomorrow ! 😋 👌🏻
Looks yummy , well done 😊
Thank you !! Try it ! Is easy to make ..🤗
I'm wanting to do this and pressure can them. So would need to leave out the cornflour for a start, but can easily thicken when reheating if needed. What do you think for cooking times though? Beans need 75 minutes in the pressure canner. Would you just put soaked beans and sauce in the jars and cook them in there or still boil them for 15-20 minutes or so because then you can skim the scum? Would probably need to leave the water out of the sauce recipe as there wouldn't be any evaporation as they cook. hmmm
Hi, i would try precooked the beans before pressure canning... I've not done it this way yet so would be experimental...
@@ScotsmanInBulgaria thanks. I’ll try that first. Yes will definitely be experimental, so I’ll try small batches with just 2-3 jars until I get it right. I also want to try to recreate their BBQ flavour and ham flavour sauce, so there’s lots of experimenting to do. But once I have jars of homemade Heinz beans on the shelf, in the perfect size jar for one portion, it’ll be worth all of the trial and error 😊
Looks yummy, but why are they called 'Baked' beans when there is no baking?🤔🤨
In the days when many homes had no ovens, people would bring sealed pots of things like beans to the village baker, to simmer at low temperatures in the cooling ovens, after the bread and pies had been baked.
At home, a pot of beans could sit overnight in the banked coals of the oven, and be cooked for the next day. Baked beans are a very low maintenance dish.. I hope this kinda answers your questions 👍🏻😃
So called English breakfast.
This is just made up... You should see a traditional Scottish Breakfast!! 🤣🤣
