“When consent and intent line up.” GIIIIRRRRLLLL You just spoke to my soul!! I’ve never had a healthy sexual experience (I’ve only had 3 total sexual encounters) because I was never able to A:Consent and B: have the actual intent to be sexual present with the guy and I never understood why I always felt dirty and sad (besides the fact that it was sexual assault by textbook definition) after it happened and it’s because of the main two reasons you listed that should be there and agreed by both parties when deciding to have a sexual relationship. I also agree with your thoughts on confidence-it’s a process that we must continue to develop and cultivate everyday.

This was so real. I love that you speak from a place of science, which seems to inform the way you understand the world. It's realistic, and yet beautifully poetic. In fact, many philosophers were scientists. *I'd love for you to post a reading list* somewhere unless you already have, and I'm slacking. I understood what you meant about helplessly romantic love being possible if it is cultivated healthily. It takes discipline and intentionality. It can be the pages you read in fairy tale books, but it is also the labor that went into making the book. That the two, the labor and the love, exist simultaneously. They feed one another and allow it to be fairy tale beautiful. Also happy you had a practical answer about confidence. "Put the work in". If something bothers you, change it. So that the real you can shine, not the insecurities. Ugh, I appreciate your existence so so much. So eloquent. Thank you for sharing you with the world.

    • @MegaKhelditia

    • @king-nick2023
      @king-nick2023 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

I don’t really think they are logical actually. However that’s based on my past experience. If your a man and your dating 3-5 women regularly that could be very expensive, and that expensive usually creates shallow relationships. However if you have one your mind is not always thinking about the others. And your time and money can be spent more intentionally.

because open relationships go against the messages we’ve been inundated with from society. that love = sacrifice and codependence and ownership, when really love = freedom and openness.

Talking about doing things that pop culture might consider 'superficial' so that your actions come only from your flow state is a really interesting way to look at it. I like to think of it as removing as many excuses as possible because, as humans, we will always looks for ways to take the easy route and if we can't rationalize the easy route with excuses then we are more likely to do the hard work which usually gets us closer to where we should be.

Thanks for reminding me how I can improve my interpersonal relationships, Shan Shan! These talks are always super insightful, and as someone who tends to be very straightforward about a lot of things myself, the dialogue is definitely relatable. (i talk to myself A LOT lol)
I also have a comment based on what someone asked you. I feel like people who ask when the "right time to have sex" is are a danger to themselves, in a way. One, because this question implies that you are not consulting yourself first on what you feel is the type of sexual relationship you desire. Two, that's dangerous because then you fall victim to non-consensual situations and miscommunication. Anyone asking this question is either looking for a way to mask their true sexual desires by not coming off as a "hoe" or vice versa, a prude. Mimick Shannon if you have to -- consult yourself on your desires and act/interact with intention.

Wow I really appreciated the bit on confidence. I like that you mention that knowing your not at ur 100% and being okay with that is a factor of confidence. I like that u say its work and prep because some people like to say its just knowing.. which also makes sense in context I guess. Anyways yeah that was a little motivational considering I literally hate myself most days because I know I'm not enough and I know there's so much Shit I gotta work on and it takes me so long to get with it. But I guess where ill find my confidence is in knowing that if I put the work in I can get to where I wanna be. I just gotta pull through. Thanks for being out here for all of us. I mean it.

Loved this! As always you are creative, thorough and funny in your videos :) As a big fan of Those Girls Are Wild (still bummed over that I never got the hat) - where I was introduced to you & your work in the FIRST place - and following the both of ya'll here on YT, I totally get that it is in the PAST. It was the both of you who decided for whatever reason to end the collaboration. I also recall both of you mentioning in broad strokes what triggered this decision. I have been friends with people, I have collaborated with people, and when it works it works, and when it doesn't it doesn't. I also have come to the conclusion that it is what it is for whatever reasons; not agreeing on things, different lifestyles, ways to maintain a friendship or the lack of. Sometimes some friendships, work relations, and romantic relationships were only healthy, valid, fruitful in a certain time period of your life. When the lesson is learned or you are ready to move forward from this, you will. Not saying you cannot ever become friends again, lovers or work together again. Because life lessons, time and continuing on working on loving ourselves, will change us into the best versions of ourselves who can make better decisions for ourselves. This year has been a hard a process of getting to know myself better through therapy and now coaching. I've really started to look myself in the eye, and it is difficult to face you demons, your innermost sad and concerned thoughts. But it leads you to the answer of why you are unhappy or not being your best self. When Shannon mentions confidence, I 100% agree that loving yourself is the key to loving your life. It has nothing to do with appearance, the perfect career, home, partner or being rich. You may have all of this and still feel pain in the soul. This point may seem obvious, but our society puts so much emphasize on all these things, and that we're just supposed to pop a pill, get a diagnosis or ignore all together than actually listening to ourselves and our own bodies when you feel wronged. Kind of like Shannon's channel teaching about the female sexual experience and sex in general, which was also never taught to us. So finding YOUR truth is essential instead of following or comparing to others. Anyway, that was a long rant, I had a moment... I have a QUESTION: What do you do for exercise besides getting between the sheets? I just started going to a yin yoga class to get more in tune with my breath and body.

Also conversation is key, b/c it should be things that you both want to entertain.for yourself as an individual, try changing up your look (not insulting your look now) but new hair or new style can make u feel confident, and opens up other components of your personality which will help to assist you with embracing your new experiences.

Shannon!!!! I loved this. It's not something see often. So, I have 2 QUESTIONS..
    1. Are you still doing the 30minute mentoring sessions? I was looking, couldn't find it, and I would really like to have a conversation with you about something.
    2. Can you go into detail about your work on "The Bold Type" & with Cosmo; Are you working on the 2nd season?

Shan BOODY are you saying that your relationship with Jared (he's a babe btw ) allows you both to disclose to each other, any encounters you may have had ,perhaps even have them in each others presence and neither of you makes the other feel ashamed ,or feels betrayed. Is that what you've got going on over there? Is that why you love him so?

I totally agree with the reunion part. People need to stop asking people they haven't bothered to talk to for years to "meet up". Why do people do that ? Okay we went to middle school together that was great then but now is not then, and I barely have time to see the friends I like so why would I want to make time for someone I once knew ?

    1. What is a (safe) fantasy that you could share?
    2. What are some future video ideas that you have for your channel?
    3. Have you ever had to pick a safe word? 😂😉 (leave out the details if it's too much to go into).
    4. You have mentioned (several times) fear of judgement from family ...especially parents... about what you do and/or about being seen or depicted in any context that might be __xual. This would seem to be something that would shackle you & stop you from being your true self. This is especially true considering your chosen field. It's a recipe for not living life to the fullest and not getting what YOU want out of it. On the flipside, you also mentioned in the past couple of years that you would no longer allow judgement or negative opinions of others (because you talk about s3x and are a very __xual person) to dictate what you do or limit you in any way. So is the judgement or negative opinion of your parents & other relatives your greatest fear? If this isn't your greatest fear, then what is?
    5. Do you have a k(ink) that you have explored or would like to explore that other people might find strange...or do you have a k__k that you are so self-conscious about that you have never mentioned it to anyone? (You don't have to go into detail about the k__k...if you are embarrassed...just acknowledge yes or no as to the existence of such a k__k).
    6. If you were offered a million dollars (with half going to a charity or charities of your choice and the rest going to you) would you pose in 🎂👔 for Pboy or for any other platform, with your choice of Annie Leibovitz, Ron Harris, Spencer Tunick...or any photographer of your choice...where you enjoyed some create input, and if you had the final say on which photos to keep or cut?
    7. Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
    8. If you could design your own dream job, what would that job entail?
    9. Considering that there are a few youtubers, including another female love & relationship vlogger, involved in poly relationships or arrangements...even raising a family together...could you see yourself in a relationship or arrangement with 2 or 3 men (For the sake of this question... being under one roof wouldn't be required)?
    P.S.
You should add a membership option or subscription service (a few good platforms out there to choose from) so that you could do more q&a's, offer behind the scenes video, exclusive content, and video on more touchy subjects in a safer environment where you could be more candid while avoiding most of the trolls, judgement and negative feedback. These services not only offer you more control over access & provide a more safe space...but they could also provide a significant boost in income. One site could offer you at least $4-5k a month if you just set up an account & get a few hundred subs. Money that is already yours...but unclaimed basically. This would be in addition to your normal youtube channel...not as a replacement for. This would give you more versatility...and more $ to do even more videos (important to consider in light of how youtube has changed its algorithm & revenue sharing program...paying far less money).
    Have an awesome day.

I hope this isn't annoying but I have seen A LOT of your content because I absolutely love you and I don't think I've seen you address this before. What do you think about hybrid relationships? Wherein one partner is mono and the other in nonmono. Do you think it is actually achievable and can be a successful relationship form?

Can you talk about more controversial/non-traditional relationships that people might have a misunderstanding for ? I also experience shame in my relationship. I'm in a Poly relationship and I was previously in a Sugar daddy/ Sugar Baby relationship. Both relationships were completely consensual, everyone in both relationships were completely happy but the shame of others opinions always added strain. Can you please talk about myths and misunderstandings of non-traditional relationships?

Hey Shan Boody! Really dig your videos. I'm always so impressed with their thoughtfulness, candor and humour. Love the idea of seeing a speech therapist! Some questions from me -
    1. Do you have a daily practice for presence and confidence? Maybe even sexual vitality? The way you answered a question in this video suggested you might.
    2. Have you studied sex therapy or related fields? Def sounds like you know what you're talking about :)
    3. Book recommendations please

Steph Shidler Self love would be one of the First things to Help her understand . But It will start with you because daughters observe everything a mother does So if your all good you don't have to worry . Just Keep an Open mind with Her that way she feels and knows your the first person she can openly speak to for advice and not be JUDGED .
I'm a brother yes but i have a baby girl and they pick things up wayyyy faster than boys . And from the ladies I've come across in my life( Sexual/Just Friends) Growing up they just wanted someone with an open mind to speak to its already hard enough Being a woman in this world . 🍻
