Just started watching the video but looks like a train that will be a lot of fun to drive! I do like the added complexity, and having to learn more than just the usual essentials of putting the reverser and setting up the train. Haven't looked at German content in TSW but I think I will now!!
Excellent tutorial, the best so far, and in plain English. Love it, but the loco is far too complicated for me, and also, not cheap for a single locomotive. The graphics are also outstanding. Thank you for this video.
I agree, if this had been a UK loco I may have been interested. I was once really into MS Flight Sim 2000 in a previous life. I bought a Boeing 737-400 Ad-on that was full-on simulation. It took quite some time to get the hang of all the systems and procedures, but once mastered it was the only aircraft I flew, all others stayed in the hanger that did not have this level of involvement. If it where a UK loco it would have to be one of my favorites.
In this game, there are no small shadows that add volume, there are no materials. It is not clear what is made of plastic and what is made of metal. One default material is used for everything. Even in the engine room there are no shadows. They just used a landscape HDR map. Even visibility of this map was not hidden and you can see it in the reflection at 12:09 🤦
i wonder what the already stuttering frame rate would be like with this new expert loco ... i wonder if the stuttering is improved in TSW5 ... i saw no mention of it in the latest roadmap by DTG
Why does it only 'Expert' work on two routes? Forgetting the cab and the switches, how is it's 'flight model' as in aspects like engine power and braking performance, etc.?
It only came shipped to work on 2 route timetables. There are some timetable mods available from TS Community however which utilize the stock if you are a PC user :)
the tutorial keeps getting stuck for me at the part on the cab where i'm supposed to lower/raise pantograph and then close the MCB. The pantograph doesn't seem to respond, nor does using MCB off continue the tutorial =/

The German scene for TSW is truely some of the best out there, i fully recommend giving it some time. You will not be disappointed :)
Thank you Tom. Excellent video as usual.
Thank you as always Nigel!

Direct Brake does not release when held in RELEASE mode! Bug? Have to toggle Train Brake to get a positive result.
How to get PZB & LZB on?!
