The two most tale tale events from this over Dannie Rollins or the Gainesville Ripper is that #1 the woman from Louisiana was named Cindy & was the one who single handidly turned him in as suspect over him that for them moving on investigating him & eventually leading to his capture & at #2 Is the fact he didn't leave that one victims home & decided to stay inside of her closet for nearly 7 hours to get to her & eventually also to kill her & the relevance to these two things is that in the original Scream movie they had Sidney as the hero & also the Ghostface stayed inside of her closet literally all day long in order to get to her & a failed attempt on her life but I remember when I first saw the movie I always wondered how they got the clever idea but it was actually from the Gainesville Ripper what he did & that just blows my mind
Her name was Cindy Juracich that helped the case, she knew Dannie Rollins from her hometown and helped the cops investigate... Cindy was Sidney, that is really deep and creepy

Most Hollywood movies make references of serial killers even in comedy movies; for example ace Ventura pet detective made angle references of a serial killer who would dress his victims as dominatrix. Most ppl think that this writers are so creative when in reality they’re just writing about something that happened. Reality is more scary
I live near Gainesville and I remember when they executed that man. That college has had two serial killers do horrific crimes there. They even had Ted Bundy do some killings in Gainesville years ago. It's so evil and I feel back for the victim's and their families. 😢
The killer's childhood abuse and personality disorder are absolutely irrelevant and add to the stigma faced by both trauma victims, and the mentally ill. I hate when true crime documentaries include this angle. I endured horrific ... and I mean like, HORRIFIC long term childhood abuse resulting in a personality disorder and I am not capable of murder. "This is why this person became a monster" is such an unnecessary and harmful part of the narrative. Tell me who the victims were. Humanize them. Don't try and make people empathize with their killer. Childhood trauma and personality disorders don't make a psycho. It brings out inherited traits that are already there.
I think the victims should be honored anonymously. Without dissecting killers though, true crime journalism and investigative reporting become irrelevant.

I didn't see an ounce of that here. And my second biggest issue with trying to link these two stories was the "rapist" M.O. In the entire four films of the "Scream" series each entry had numerous killers with CLEAR motivations on why they were killing people. Except for Stu in the original. But Stu was Billy's little lap dog, and CLEARLY he wasn't a rapist. Yeah, this is pretty lazy, and lacks any connection.
That's how a writer's mind works. Williamson was almost ruined as a writer and he was caring a house for money. One night, he saw the news, they were talking about this serial killer. He just wondered that guy stalking the house he was caring, and a few days later he got Scream in mind.

In Scream Stu's X GF was murdered so there is the connection. Police would have interviewed Stu the next day and checked his Alibi which would not hold water and case closed. 2 Idiots in 2006 killed their "friend" ( when in fact they just creeped on her) it was a open and shut case. The only way a horror movie can work is A. The Police are idiots and B. the killer can teleport between areas.
