    My same Jack shaft bearing started making noise after about 4 hours of use. I immediately parked it since I had a torque converter kit for it from Go Power Sports and was going to be replacing the stock clutch and jack shaft anyway. I found the grease seal on the outer bearing was loose and the grease had mostly come out. I ordered a pair of American made Timken bearings from Amazon for $24.00 including shipping since I didn't want to mess with anymore Chinese crap bearings and have to replace it again. I installed the torque converter and got 3 times the speed with out further modifications other than bending the throttle stop tab flat. I installed the Temkin's in the jack shaft although I will probably never use them. They will go to the next owner of the bike if I ever sell it. Thanks for the video.

    Same thing happened to mine I’ve got the same bike. Replaced my bearings and same deal happened again. I found out the rubber bearing seal was getting hot and melting away and grit was getting inside. Got bearings with metal seals and haven’t had the problem since.

    Yes when you build it. It tells you the slack for the chain. Mine came tite. I had to let it a lil loose. Runs perfect. If you left it to spec. Your going to ruin that bearing.

    6203rs bearings are used in idler pulleys on my Cub Cadet 50 inch mower deck(and probably others). I just replaced a couple which seized from dirt/debris. About $4 on Amazon.

    i have finally solved the problem surrounding the jackshaft bearings, my problem was that the rear tire was out of line and the chain too tight to pop off, i ordered a chain alignment tool and realized that trying to line up and match both sides of the chain tension screws symmetrically does not work, this would be due to manufacturing tolerances, the hole on the left side of the frame may be slightly farther forward or rearward of the hole of the right side of the frame. this has also solved my brakes rubbing issue. get a chain alignment tool and align everything that way, do not try to symmetrically match both chain tension screws or you may find your chain popping or damage to the jackshaft and or sprockets

    I just bought a used Coleman mini bike ct200u a - May 2018 Model, Does anybody know if it should have JUST a single chain set up?? that's what this one has I bought " Single Chain, it chatters constantly when nailing the gas, so I pull the clutch like I see on youtube to grease it up, stills does it, my sons were looking at it tonight and said the chain looks like its doing something weird on the clutch. I'll get into it some tomorrow. HELP!!! :P

    What's the best drive and driven sprocket combination so I can solve the over slack in the rear chain to my Coleman ct200uex ? No matter how it's tightened back up, it gets loose again. Why not make it do it just stays that way ?
    I'm finding out that this causes bearing problems to the driver bearing.

    Excellent video. A high temp grease or white lithium is a good grease to use. Packing a bearing is an art form. I use the palm method myself. These things come from China. On the boat things dry out and I'm sure the grease is nonstandard. Made to fail. Timken or SKF are best. I've found bearings that have no grease at all. Thanks for sharing.

    I'm not sure what the hell the problem is with mine. Mine's not a Coleman though. I have a 196cc X-PRO200 Mini Bike which is basically the same thing as the MB200. But it's not like it's an old bike and I've put hundreds of miles on it. I have only had it about a 1/2 a year or so and haven't ridden it a whole lot either and just today when I decided to take it for a little stroll I hear some weird noise coming from somewhere in or around the engine. Sounded like it might be where the pull start wheel is. Made what sounded like a rubbing sound almost but louder. I am not a mechanic by any means and have no clue how to pin point the problem. It doesn't make the noise the entire time the engine is running it usually starts making the rubbing noise when I am in the middle of gassing it and then it'll stop making the noise before I can come to a stop to see what it is. Doesn't make the noise when it is stopped only while riding. Meanwhile I have a Torque Converter and Riser Plate coming to me in the mail and I hope I'm not wasting my time putting those on if the engine itself is having issues running on it's own.

    I experienced that failure 12/28/2020 and I used O'reily's wheel bearings part number A-1 it fit perfectly so with this bearing throw away the outer ring that these bearings come with because it wont fit with it on be sure to pack all bearings before installation u put the back bearing on first put the shaft inside make sure every part has grease on shaft install dont worry about hitting the bearings in housing the easiest way I have found was using the nut to tighten all parts however i found it to be very difficult to tighten without putting on the chain and getting a very small screw driver to put through the chain so u can tighten locking nut u must tighten enough to put cotter pin hole it's very difficult but u can do it after a few curse words once chains are on the back tire wheel lock up its suppose to do that start it up give throttle but not to much just enough to turn the chain slowly u should hear a pop when u do you'll notice right away u can move the back tire freely that means ur bearing popped into place take it for a ride until u hear a second pop once u hear the second pop ur bike now has both bearings installed and aligned properly be sure to make any adjustments necessary and check clutch chains, bearings, etc.

    I appreciate knowing what's inside these. About to tear into mine ... the jackshaft won't spin the main chain sprocket. So maybe the woodruff key is gone? I'll know shortly. But I'll also order a torque converter now; dealing with this, and then the secondary chain that needs occasional oil? No thanks.

    • @thenexthobby
      @thenexthobby 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, the woodruff key disintegrated. And the axle slot it fits in is rounded out on one side ... not the backside as you might expect from applied power, but the front side. My guess is that the woodruff key was allowed to wiggle around in there until it got twisted and began to shear.
      I could fix it with a different jackshaft, but seriously, why bother? Off to research torque converter setups now.
