    I’d suggest just grouting with a white and then a 50/50 mixture of white matte paint to tone down the brown but keep the depth of the tones in the natural stone.

      @@LindiandRuss Oh no! I hope you don't have to shut down your channel! It's hard to find a TH-cam channel whose style so closely aligns with mine. I've noticed that a lot of the channels I find are having issues getting enough views lately. Hopefully you can find a way to change that. As for the fireplace, have you considered concrete stain? I think that might be able to help you tone down the color without losing the stone's character.

    • @LindiandRuss
      @LindiandRuss  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@kathywright15 I hope we don’t have to either! We love doing it! We just can’t always justify the time if we aren’t getting enough views 😞 We actually called everywhere looking for concrete stain and couldn’t find any of the colours we needed! The prices to ship them from the states is higher than the cost of the whole makeover 😂😂 So we’re looking at new options!

    Could you try an Acid Wash over the stones? They look like years of soot have discoloured them. The acid might clear away some of the grime then do the grout lines.

    The ceiling looks awesome, and it really brightens the room! Actually, now that the ceiling is nice and bright, the fireplace looks much better as a contrast and if you change the color of the walls to a brighter shade, perhaps the fireplace will look fine for a while.......but since you are stepping back from the fireplace project for now.......hmmmmm.......Hey Russ, how about that sauna for Lindi?? 😉😁😁

    I bought a Wagner sprayer. It was THE worst paint job ever. So much faster, easier, and professional result without the Wagner sprayer. Waste of money. ( and yes, I practiced, did test panels ahead, and played with the consistency of the paint) DO NOT DO IT!

    • @LindiandRuss
      @LindiandRuss  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I completely disagree! Which sprayer did you buy or use? We have both used them in our houses, in the RV, on furniture, etc and we’ve always been very happy! I will say there was a bit of a learning curve to getting a really nice finish with some of the sprayers, but the one in this video is so easy to use and goes on so well. I literally can’t see how you’d have difficulty. Much cheaper than hiring it out!

    • @Lizwindsor
      @Lizwindsor 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@LindiandRuss of course you’re going to disagree it’s a sponsored video. I bought the flexio 2500. I am a very experienced diy’er. It’s kind of condescending to say “I literally can see how you had difficulty “ why would I make it up? I did. I easily gave it about 10-15 try’s, followed the Wagner directions, watched their TH-cam videos, talked to the guys at Loews and sure enough, they confirmed, some of their models suck. I have followed you guys for years on all your social, shocked at this response. #unfollow.

    • @LindiandRuss
      @LindiandRuss  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@Lizwindsor hi Liz - you commented on our sponsored video yelling in CAPS “DO NOT DO IT!” If you are someone who has followed us for years, as you say, then you should know that we NEVER share products that we don’t stand behind. As I said above, sometimes products have a learning curve. When I said, I can’t see how you could have difficulty, I was referring to the Control Pro airless sprayer in this video, which you just admitted you didn’t use. It’s more expensive, but there is no learning curve and it’s super easy to use and use well. We’ve used a ton of these sprayers on and off camera - sponsored and not-sponsored and always been happy, even with the ones that took slightly longer to master. I’m sorry you feel that way. We don’t mean to come across as rude or condescending, but obviously felt the need to defend our actions and choices after being criticised. Hope you have a lovely day! ❤️
