  • Anna and I put our bleach dropper to use while going through the “potentially” norovirus contaminated Mission Creek, scramble our way around washed out sections of trail, climb back up in elevation, and get to Big Bear for a nero! The PCT journey continues! Cheers!

The kennels you passed were left over from when many movies and shows, star trek .... were made in the vicinity.

I picked up some rocky talkies for situations where you get separated hiking with a buddy in no service terrain. I was honestly a skeptic when my buddy brought them in the Grand Canyon- but I got sick and he needed to get water. We stayed in touch and I caught up later. We felt ok separated cause we had the walkies. They worked great even in the canyon. Now I have a pair.

Thank you! Yep, evaded norovirus. Turns out it may have actually been some red algae growing in the creek that was getting everyone sick. Still nothing confirmed though.

Getting lost, yup would happen to me for sure. Even though ur in a valley u can easily lose bearing and many spots on Pct have no cell service. Hang together. Keep on.

Thank you! There were rock walls 10 feet high in that creek bed. Easy to miss someone if they’re on the other side.

Maybe you guys could do a little bit of behind-the-scenes in one of the episodes like how long does it take you to edit these videos and what source do you use to upload them? Is it just cellular?

@@justinhitsthetrail5225 Quick solution, you should both always have a planed rendezvous location. For what it is worth, you are not the first couple it happened to. I have watched it happen to most of the TH-cam couples I follow. Usually both people end up charging full speed ahead thinking each is behind the other, until they get to their camp site.

Loving them both! The Kakwa is carrying heavy food and water carries like a champ! Took a while to get efficient at setting up the dipole but now that we have it dialed in we love it! So roomy, and holds up surprisingly well in wind (as long as we have it fully guyed out). Cheers!

@@justinhitsthetrail5225 Thanks for the feedback. The Dipole looks legit, but I was concerned about the side windows leaking in a strong windy rain. Again, really enjoying your PCT series and hope y'all have a tremendous adventure.

Question….why the river bed and not the trail? Maybe already answered, but didn’t see.

Yeah a flood washed out large sections of the trail. The creek bed is the easiest, most straightforward way through that section.
