Hi Zach, maybe you would want to host a podcast for live qna, consultation. I would like to improve my mix. Found a lot of useful resources from your channel, kudos buddy! 😊

I do think a podcast would be cool. Just if filming and editing videos wasn’t so time consuming LOL 😂

Hmmmmmm. Those were some old IR’s I downloaded many years ago from some link in an audio forum I think? Try searching for Bricasti M7 Impulse Response download and you might be able to find it.

Hi zack. Do you turn the wet knob all the way to 0db on your reverb send?

    • @MixChecks

Yes. If it’s on a bus Wet all the way up and Dry all the way down

@@MixChecks thanks......... One more question, i see you usually send your drums, guitars, keys to the sane reverb........... Please what amount of level are you sending for various instruments into the reverb aux

There’s not really a set level that I do, but a lot of times I just turn it up until I hear the reverb and then back it off a bit.

Hi Zakk, nice video. So in general, you let asside all non IR reverbs ? I have another question: some people tend to put each track that needs rv in an auxiliary track, low pass and high pass that before sending it to rv, instead of equing the rv, to have better control on the frequencies sent from each instrument. Would you consider this as good practice or futile one ?

Yeah. I’m trying to find some IR’s that I like and that I can use every time. Rather than switch between plugins. Though I occasionally use the RVerb from Waves in its default settings. Also, I’m finding that I like Hall reverbs better than plates, though most of the audio community seems to be the opposite.
For EQing before or after the reverb, I think it’s been proven that it doesn’t really matter. And I definitely don’t need to EQ each instrument differently going to the reverb. That sounds like a nightmare of Auxes lol. For me, I just know that I don’t want lows and highs and too much 500hz coming out of my reverb. It’s a super easy way to muddy up a mix.
