    I hate it that the Barton’s distillery tour is no longer available. This was one that I was definitely looking forward to. 😞

    • @BourbonRealTalk
      @BourbonRealTalk  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah. TBH is was much more "industrial" and less educational. It was cool seeing the decommissioned still used for the WWII effort, but you won't be missing anything if you go on a different tour at a different distillery.

    I always stopped at Bartons whenever I went to Bardstown, 14 times in all. I would take the Estate Tour, they only took 5 people at a time because you ride on a golf cart. Sadly they stopped giving tours, probably because of what you mentioned. You park you car and trucks are driving right there. And you know how some people are when they have their noses in therir phone. And just to drive around Bardstown to look at some of the old houses.

    You guys are making want to go back. We live in Tennessee and visit Kentucky often ,but Bardstown is a bit farther up for day trips. Four Rose's has a smaller facility that they bottle in. A nice gift shop that they sell a single barrel that's only available there,so ,pretty cool. The Tavern has great eats and you can stay there.

    Going way back in the BRT history here. My family got me a distillery tour for my birthday next month. There's six of us going to the Detroit Distillery which is located in the old Stroh's beer building. Wife and I both had uncles that worked for Stroh's so a bit of more history for us. Really looking forward to this trip and see how everything is made,

    • @BourbonRealTalk

      That's awesome! The Detroit Distillery tour sounds like it will be a great experience for you and your family, especially with the added personal connection to the location. I hope you enjoy it and learn a lot about the whiskey-making process. Have you visited any other distilleries before or is this your first one?

    My brother-in-law and I spent two days there last week. The Talbot Inn and Tavern was a great place as well. 1792 will be ending the tours at the end of this month. Not to be a Whiskey Troll.....buuut they are giving tours at Lux Row, with a tasting at the end I think it was 15 dollars a person, we really enjoyed it.

    My son and I stayed the night in Talbot tavern. Interesting experience, but the WORSE beds I've ever had at a hotel. My army bunks in basic would be considered luxury compared to them. We had a room with two twins and they just sagged in the middle. No support at all.

      I recommend you break it up into 3 trips that are 4 day 3 night trips. Check the schedules of the places you want to visit so you pick the right days. For instance, a lot of the things to do in Louisville are closed Monday and Tuesday.

    NO trolling here fam but please DO NOT disrespect bourbon by referring to it as whiskey. While it is bourbon whiskey the difference between bourbon and whiskey is bourbon comes out at 150 proof or above before aging. As a connoisseur of Bourbon I make sure to distinguish between the 2! Happy drinking fellas!!

    • @BourbonRealTalk
      @BourbonRealTalk  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I am unsure if you are being funny or not, so I will comment as if you mean what you are saying.
      All bourbon is whiskey, but not all whiskey is bourbon. There are a lot of things that are different about bourbon from other categories of whiskey, but bourbon coming out at 150 proof or above is not one of them.
      This might help:
