Cool and educational videos, thanks! I have the Champion 8.5kW too and am struggling to find a good charging power. If I push it too close to 8.5 the voltage and/or frequency fluctuate and the sol ark stops pulling power. At what % of the max running watts do you set it to charge?
@@mylesoffgrid Got it, thanks. Have you tried the gen peak shaving setting? In my experience this will cover the house loads and send anything extra to the battery, or charge the battery faster if there are no house loads, all with a constant generator output.
About my issue getting the generator to run smoothly at 8500 watts on propane, Champion support stated "It is recommended to not exceed 80% of the running output (6800 watts)."

I am usually charging around 70 amps plus house loads.
