      Dark and shiny means they are quite oily, oily beans could gunk up the grinder on these models!

      @@mylesoffgrid Thanks well we gotten used to it in the week we have been using now my only small complaint is that coffees with milk in them don't come out as hot as I would like them to be this is going to be a problem in winter since it'll get cold like in a couple minutes and we find the portions a bit small I wish the machine allowed us to make bigger portions like being able to fill a starbucks cup in a single go for instance but I have to repeat the coffee making process 2-3 times to fill a big cup that's a downside to me. Other than that makes really tasty and easy coffee!

      Hi TD. We get temp swings from minus 40 to plus 40 Celsius. They are black and facing south. I am thinking the aluminum has expanded and contracted a bit causing the cracked caulk. Only on the inside which is weird. I will cut the caulk and redo it if needed so far not causing any real issues. I would purchase again yes!

      Thanks for the response. Did you go with all aluminum or wood on the inside? If all aluminum do you find the aluminum even with the thermal break transfers alot of cold to the interior aluminum in the winter and creates condensation on the interior aluminum? Wondering if the wood is worth the added cost.

    we have one in our shop, but the humidity it produces is insane. my boss leaves the hose running all day in it, any tips on how to bring it down? as of today its outside but 95 in the shop with humidity at 52% in the shop.

    • @mylesoffgrid
      @mylesoffgrid 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      there is a SPECIFIC way to run this thing. Firstly you have to have some doors open to push out the humid air. otherwise it gets too humid and then the unit won't cool anything anyway. So we leave 2 overhead doors open (on the shade sides of the building), do not let any direct sunlight enter the shop if you can. we turn the tap one full turn from closed plus about a tenth of a turn and found that is the best setting for keeping the shop cool! hope this helps! DO NOT RUN THE HOSE ALL DAY IN IT. drain and fill the water maybe half way through the day, but squeegee the water away otherwise you only adding to the humidity problem.

    Crappy setup, the leads from battery to the inverter have to be very short. The issue is related to their inductance, which will result in capacitor failure from the inverter, as you stress them by decoupling the battery low impedance with those long wires inductance. Always check the manual related to wire length (you cannot just mitigate it's effect by just using thicker wires...)

    • @mylesoffgrid
      @mylesoffgrid ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure how you could make the wires much shorter. The batteries are on the opposite side of the wall. All feedback is good we are still learning!

      Hi Susan yes the doors out swing towards exterior. If you order doors with odd number of doors they all go to one side. If you order even number of doors i.e. 4. Then one will swing left and three will roll right. You can tell them which side you want the swing. Hope that helps?

      Hello. Yes we still love the doors! I did not have the option to get the ones that hang from the top because we love in a cold climate having a good door air seal was very important. Our house clocked in at 0.7 air changes per hour on a performance test which makes these doors IMPRESSIVE as I have 3 units total. 2 are 8' x 12'. And the other is 8' x 15'. The big screens I just installed last week. They actually work very well. I'll try to make a video of those. If I don't make a video before you order (please mention my name on your quote and talk to Lilian or Victor). "Double Conversion". Isolates your AC system and your generator from each other. I DIY'd mine with ~3kw of power supplies but have thought of buying an additional Growatt specifically for that purpose. The interest in this approach is huge, judging by all the hope and drama that flared up overnight about the EG4 Chargeverter. The funny thing is, if one is willing to use an AIO as ONLY a battery charger, there have been ~$500 options like that for at least a year or two, maybe longer. People act like a $400 100a charger is a new thing, but only because they do not consider the possibility of doing what you have done and using an AIO as JUST a battery charger. In that sense, while a Chargeverter is cheaper than a Growatt 5k, it is not MUCH cheaper than the $500 48v AIOs that have been available for a while now from PowMR, etc.

I have a 12K and running on generator if the sun is shinning the charging current is limited to what the generator is set to no matter how much solar you have. If the solar exceeds the generator power then the generator carries on running but not putting any power into charging the batteries which seems kinda stupid and wasteful of fuel. I was hoping that both gen and solar would contribute to charging the batteries faster but that doesn't seem to be the case. I tried upping the battery charging current beyond what the generator is capable of, however, if the sun goes behind the clouds then the Solark proceeds to overload the generator as it tries to maintain the charge current. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

      I have the champion 8.5kw I needed a document to figure out the two wire start, and i moved the batteries inside to keep them warm, haven't ran that generator since christmas though ! Also please see my other video on the sol ark and generator power to help you with your issue! Solark cannot charge and discharge at the same time.

    Nice setup! Why not use a transfer switch to alternate generator inputs? Then the solark would see either on the input

      I do not like way sol ark has to pass the gen power through to the loads. Makes all the led lights pulse and flicker even with a generator that has extremely low harmonic distortion. And a rock solid 60hz power only loading gen to half load. Still makes lights flicker and some of my hydronic relays bUZZ. this way with the growatt it's just charging works much cleaner!

    Love the work that you have done! The attention to detail and tidiness is a pleasure to see! I'm guessing that you are a Virgo.

    You need to have a proper plug inlet to the Growatt inverter, as right now all of the cords would be an electrocution hazard if unplugged due to the live plug prongs.

    • @mylesoffgrid
      @mylesoffgrid ปีที่แล้ว

      This inverter is only active when the generator is powering it. Leave in standby mode. When the generator is off. Inverter shuts off and also turn off breaker to 48V. This type of charging needs to be monitored. It's not automatic. The auto charging is through the sol ark worse case scenario. It's no different than back feeding your breaker panel. Male to male.

      @@mylesoffgrid Still no reason to not wire up a plug to the inverter charge input instead of a receptacle.

      Yes you are correct I will look into this it's a simple modification! Thanks for the great feedback! Proper term for this setup is called a suicide cord. Beware that you should as mentioned never have an exposed male live cable.

    That's not a bad idea, have the solark do the auto gen start/stop but use something else to charge with. Solark really should fix that, they have a full 60 seconds to modify the frequency slightly and then load up on the generator slowly to prevent the issue.

    • @mylesoffgrid
      @mylesoffgrid ปีที่แล้ว

      That might not help the issue because the sol ark uses common wire to charge and discharge, so you cannot have current flowing in two directions, sol ark will always use gen power to power the loads then the leftover gen power goes to charging.

    Looks great! Keep an eye on the Chargry BMS, mine flaked out after 6 months. Also a heat pump HW tank, rheem makes a good one will cut your elec. consumption. I have the 50g for the past 3 years supporting a house of 4., no issues.

      which one did you go with after? what was the fail symptom? I am powering mine from battery bank. they all work well however I am noticing after time that some of the charge currents drift out of calibration. they are too balanced cells so the chargery isn't doing much work it's just a fail safe.

      @@mylesoffgrid I ended up getting a Batrium WatchMon 4, Decent but pricey. If I was to do it again I would explore something else like a REC, Seplos or JKBms. The YT channel Andy’s garage has a number of good videos on BMSs. My chargery issues were lack of accuracy in voltage measurement. Could not rely on them. My cells / battery are similar rock steady the past 2 yrs..

      Heat from the house. It sits in a basement so we don’t notice the impact of it running.

      Zekeboz, I just asked the question you kind of answered. Are you having a good experience w/ the Rheem heat pump tank ? And are you also storing in a propane tank for your radiant in floor heating? Thanks Mike
