I, like most others here, watch every single one of your videos. I may have enjoyed THIS one the most - not because this was one of your most complex pieces, either. I enjoyed how you started showing the imperfect, sometimes chaotic process. Multiple attempts to fit the base frame to the top. Bowties flying everywhere because you forgot to take them off the table while hammering. As an amateur furniture maker, it's good to know that even the furniture-building gods go through these ordeals throughout the production process!
I feel better. I'm not the only one that gets excited over a new ISHITANI FURNITURE video. 28,000 views on a video posted 10 hours earlier. Someday I want to go on a pilgrimage to Japan.
It's so comfortable to hear all the different tools running. Like the helical heads of a jointer and planer. Or the sound of the band saw. I really enjoyed this video! My first time watching.
Watching you build this was a very pleasurable experience. People will remember you and say this was built in the Ishitani style. Thank you and don’t stop creating beautiful pieces.
Ishi really dug deep into his tools for this one - I feel like he used almost everything in the shop except for the CNC. Even found a way to use biscuits for one joint and dominos for another
not only Ishitani is amazing woodworker, he also really takes care of his tools very well. at 21:11 how smooth he planed that end grain it moves like hot knife through butter. i can tell you by experience, if you dont take care of your tools and tried the same thing, i can assure you that you will not enjoy planning the end grain like he did.
The confidence to make the narrow part of those dovetail small is astounding. I usually make them half the size of wider part. This is show the quality of material and craftsmanship.
the power of Ishitani-san is that while he blows our minds with his craftsmanship, he brings us into awe not just with him but with the art itself! bravo!!!
Hello. I am a woodworker but specialising in stairs mostly. But from time to time I do make a furniture. You sir and Pedulla Studio are the best carpenty channels on a TH-cam. Greetings and Merry Christmas. ( if you celebrating )
Beautiful work there my friend. The only thing that could top this video is if you did closed captions to describe what you are doing, similar to what Primitive Technology does. I think it would really help the newbies like me understand more of what I'm seeing.
The end result and the road leading to it fascinates me. The video is simply excellent. It shows so much of the work and so much is needed. I'm lucky to have seen it, thank you.
Wow so much technique into one piece. This is true art. Seeing the legs fitting together was so satisfying. And adding the cable management was the cherry on top, connecting form and function.
What an absolutely lovely desk, with such incredible joinery and attention to detail. You honored that lovely piece of old timber--so full of character.
Lovely desk, and the numerous techniques to build this piece of art are amazing ! Once completed, it seems so simple and evident that no one can guess the HUGE work it was to do that beauty… Thanks to you Ishitani, for sharing this peaceful moment of grace ! I believe that when you wake up in the morning before going doing this, it's not a job, it's not a work, but a new shiny day…
The best woodworker on the internet.
that triangular bridle joint on the bottom stretcher just blew my mind...it was beautiful and so well executed.
I know, right?! Such lovely joinery.
@@listofromanticsunderstated- jaw dropping mastery
He simply makes beautiful furniture. The uncluttered aesthetic, like the bottom stretcher, is stunning.
Amazing! However, IMHO, it would be better if the bottom stretcher could stretch to the full width of the desk.
When you build it, you can make that change. Get cutting!@@codeitup9155
This man is the ultimate wood machinist.
Joy! Mr Ishitani has posted and I can enjoy 30 minutes of his tranquil craftsmanship! I was very happy to see a set of printed plans on the bench.
Just ridiculous how detailed the different dovetail joints and bridle joint came together, I shook my head at 19:30. Unbelievable.
Always enjoy your videos. Those bouncing/dancing bow ties were nice addition.

I've watched all your videos, but I haven't commented for a long time. So here's one. Beautiful
机製作ありがとうございます♪
怪我が完治して、また普段通りに製作出来て良かったです♪
次は、椅子フェチの私の為に製作して欲しいなぁ〜❣️

So beautiful! And it's great that Shiro also got some attention! 🐾 Thank you! 😎✌️
That joint work is insane. I know I'd screw that up seven ways from Sunday. Great work!!
Glad to see you back to making furniture my friend. Nothing makes me happier than seeing Ishitani and some sliding dovetails.

いつも石谷さん達の動画を見るとお父さんの昔にあった工房と思い出して懐かしい~
これを見ると大工に目指したくなります。
That's not just a desk. That's a work of art! Wonderful!
One of the best wood working TH-cam channels there is. Absolutely love your craftsmanship Sir.
Pure. This is it. For the love of the game. Poetry. A job well done.
very nice jig for the dovetail pins!
The love of wood, detail and craftsmanship create works of art
wow, I am very happy to watch this post after just 2 minutes of uploading it.
Traditional joinery and modern cable management - this is so cool!
Good to see that you still have high standard of quality control.
Many of his joints require intricate precision down to milimeter. Hats off to this man. This is work of Art.
The confidence to make the narrow part of those dovetail small is astounding. I usually make them half the size of wider part. This is show the quality of material and craftsmanship.
Those dovetails are delightful.
True craftsman without the use of EPOXY or STEEL LEGS. Thank you for sharing, Steve
the power of Ishitani-san is that while he blows our minds with his craftsmanship, he brings us into awe not just with him but with the art itself! bravo!!!
Beautiful. Thank you. ⛄
I'm a hobby wood worker and this gentleman inspires me but I know I will never reach his level of skill. Still, I've learned a lot from him.

Despite my hate for glue, this is a beautiful piece of furniture! Kudos!!
Beautiful! Thanbk you for allowing us to watch!
The craftmanship is just out of this world, impressing does not cover it.
Outstanding craftsmanship. Beautiful design. Love your craftsmanship. Always beautiful pieces coming from this man.
Just wonderful work - and design.
Thank you so much for posting.
It seems that dogs are the same the world over...😃😃😃
For us, this is meditation at its best. It’s everything life should be - calm, peaceful, creative, respectful, generous. Pure joy.
Your videoographer is as skilled at making your videos, as you are skilled at producing works of art.
The aspect I most like about your work is the usage of glue, for every joint uses no more, no less than a single drop of glue.
Allways a pleasure to watch you create. Seasonal Greeting to you and yours.🎄
At first i was surprised to see the metal fasteners: then i realized the piece was able to be disassembled. Very fine work.
The end result and the road leading to it fascinates me. The video is simply excellent. It shows so much of the work and so much is needed. I'm lucky to have seen it, thank you.
Spot on, as always, more please. Oh, and seasons greetings.
as usual, a pleasure to watch this carpentry work which creates Art. A real joy.
Watch you working is a therapy!
Tje result is always a masterpiece!
The trick is to put that cross piece in the freezer. Shrink it a bit to get the best interference fit. haha. Great work. I thoroughly enjoy watching.
I super love this design. Great job, that triangular join was impressive.
Favourite channel. Love these videos. Seeing the patience and pace in the way you work has influenced how I go about my own work in other disciplines.
Gracias por compartir tu trabajo Saludos desde México
I could watch this man hand carve dovetails all day and never get tired of it.
