Am I the only one that immediately downloads, saves, watches but never deletes, all of his videos? Just wanted to make sure I am not the only fanatic. He does great work -- always an inspiration. Thanks.
Yep.... Still had to call to Chie to come help get it off the planer..... But still, But Still In my wildest dreams. a slab that size... Nope never. Maybe with three healthy men, by my self..... Nope Never. Good comment BTW.
@@deanwilliams93 Agreed. I'm confused about what he was hoping to achieve by doing that, given that he then took a circular saw to the same edge anyway.. odd.
I don't know you but I suspect that's not entirely true. He does great work, no doubt, but the whole project is distilled into a serenely presented 20-30 minute video. I don't know that you can fully glean the extent of his concentration from this presentation. If you can focus on making furniture for 20yrs, you surely have the same abilities to focus!
An astonishing level of mastery- Mathematics and the ability for everything to be synchronized level and plumb is beyond mind boggling-- if any others tried this within a 1000 tries they may get close and you nail it on the 1st. Silence. Then STANDING ovation.
Planning, time managment, attention to detail, dog, handcrafted working environment, the silentness of your work space, nature, exceptional filming (angles, music, dog, tools, crucial woodworking moments I could go on:). Above all, your three's willingness to share it with me/us. Thank you.
Nowadays I believe your videos are the onliest ones I can't watch over 1x. Lovely work as usual. Your buddy still a good actor in transitions between work phases lol
Furniture made by a true master craftsman! Beautiful. and following all the rules of a true master.. You have my respect and awe over your work. Most makers seem to overlook "killing" of the joints -- so much a masters technique for tight lasting joints. One thing I missed was a good look at the finished bow tie inserts.
Attention to details is second to none love watching you making your items as you are so laidback in what you do to achieve the desired finished product even the dog takes a well earned stretch take care 😀👍
6:08 I love Shiro the yoga-dog! Nice Job Ishitani San, clean simple and good looking! I would like to know how you decide proportions in your furniture...
I cant believe i forgot to sub this channel a year ago when i found it. Thank you for your vids i use them for meditative therapy they are the awesome pieces of functional art this is becoming rare in our world. Thank you again .
Thank you Mr. Ishitani. "Perfection is the prize that time and patience grant us" Greetings from Mexico to you and Mrs Chie and the best quality inspector Shiro..!!
Nunca me canso de ver a este hombre, la paciencia, la precisión, el gusto y talento que tiene, guau,, te ayudaría gratis solo x estar ahí aprendiendo. X muchos videos mas, hasta pronto, desde Uruguay, Gustavo
You are a magnificent craftsman my friend. I not only watch your videos to see the beautiful pieces you produce, but also because your shop is so clean, bright and your work makes me feel calm and relaxed. Thank You
The most beautiful part of this table is below the surface….. but for all of us who are take part in woodwork be it professionally or otherwise know where to look! 😀 Superb work and the dovetails are just beautiful. I spend a lot of time learning from people like you and have watched hours upon hours of yours and others content, but the only channel my wife watches with me is this one. It’s so well shot and love how it’s filmed. We’ll done you, your wife and the chief dog! Thank you.
Long time fan of your channel, but when I saw you slid the table top across the jointer I was very impressed, and glad that you did not hurt yourself. Your skill set is next to none when it comes to your furniture building, at such a young age you are a master at your craft. pls keep the video's coming.
La sobrietà e la pulizia nelle forme il saper trattare l'essenza del legno mi piace molto il tuo tavolo ed ê molto bello vederti lavorare così bene sei un grande falegname i miei complimenti 😁
You are not only a masterful craftsman but also an inspired designer. Everything you produce is a thing of beauty as well as a quality piece of furniture. It is rare to have both talents combined, that is what makes your pieces outstanding!
Ah what a gift to watch this on thanksgiving day here in the U.S. . Thank you for sharing this piece of art and the making of it. Glad to know that there are people who appreciate quality and the details that he espouses. I am sure he doesn't let anyone just buy his stuff. Muchas gracias for sharing.
I am probably in the minority, but I wish you would provide an alternate, longer edit, with even more nuanced evolutionary details. This, as all videos is a wonderful collaboration and depiction of Ishitani's work and greatly appreciated. The old handsaw is prime. Thank you.
Am I the only one that immediately downloads, saves, watches but never deletes, all of his videos? Just wanted to make sure I am not the only fanatic. He does great work -- always an inspiration. Thanks.
No. Here are many of us. But in Europe we were sleeping this night.
Nope. You are not alone.
Same here, learning by watching :-)
It's like watching an artist practice his craft. :-)
Do u copy his work. Im going to emulate this person
What a legend! The entire table top on edge right across the jointer... no big deal
I expected to see a special high fence or a jig behind that top... but nope.
@@VanDerPol I expected to see a hand plane or router with a straight edge clamped down, but apparently our guy was feeling strong and impatient :)
Honestly, it’s the first time I’ve ever WTFd on this guy
Lol I spat my tea out at that one it looked so crazy
I have enough trouble hold a 6" plank square edge on and square , I couldn't believe he managed that!
Holy smokes. You might be the only man in the world that can run that table top across the jointer. That was impressive! Great work as always.
Yep.... Still had to call to Chie to come help get it off the planer..... But still, But Still In my wildest dreams. a slab that size... Nope never. Maybe with three healthy men, by my self..... Nope Never. Good comment BTW.

@@Paul-jp8zz It was the other edge...wasn't the same.
@@didndido3638 ahh good catch.. still though.. I don't see why he'd need to run that edge over the jointer after the glueup. but what do I know!
I'm so glad to see you're posting regularly again.
I love watching your videos when I need to relax.
very few woodworkers understand composition and scale, lots of it on you tube. Ishitani is a master of both.
I have been making furniture for 20 yrs. I have yet managed to achieve the level of concentration this younger fellow has achieved!!!
While I hear you, I'd bet money he has been making furniture for 20 yrs. as well, maybe longer.

Да...один из лучших мастеров на всем пространстве TH-cam. Очередная прекрасная работа.
Finally a great video with no stupid music in the background ! He is the Mr. Miyagi of woodworking
I love it... First word spoken on the channel and it's the Japanese equivalent of "Nope!" I chuckled out loud on that one.
Your process. Craftsmanship. Attention to detail. The video itself. Just beautiful. Thank you for sharing 😊
Once again, a master's class from the Master Craftsman. As always, thank you, Chie.
@5:23 That table tops is heavy! Beautiful angled dovetails--very unusual. What a lovely table.
The man.... jointed a whole table... Wildest thing in yet in wood working.
Oh happy days, good morning from south west Australia fans, another Ishitani masterpiece to savour.
Despite all his wonderful tools I’m most jealous of how clean his pipe clamps are
There are many who work wood. But few who can do it as well as you do 🙏
Best regards from the Northern black forest 🌲🌿🌳
huge respect for your joiner skills with that table top!!!!!
Can’t stop watching your video. Great work. Respect from US!

Beautiful work as always! I loved the way the diagonal braces came together to form one dovetail!
The dovetail brace is a variation of the American Shaker joint used on their step stools and benches. But which came first? I love it!
Jesus! That 1/2 sliding dovetail in the middle!!?! My head exploded! Beautiful

I drool over that super surfacer.
I am not a wood worker, but I appreciate the skills and the quality!
notice her video composition at 1:36... she is every bit as detailed in her work as he is...Such admirable work. CHEERS!
Beautifully made.
Beautifully photographed. The end frame composition was just perfect.
Wow. I’ve watched all your videos, but I think this is the most impressive yet. Such accuracy on such a large scale. Incredible!
Wow, holding an entire table top through a jointer! Ha. Big balls move, love it.
I've been observing, with delight, the implementation of your Zen art for a bit of time. I do not need to add any else.

I'm unfamiliar with your term "killing"the joints, what's that refer to that I can Google?
Yet another Masterpiece from the Mind, the Heart, and the Hands of The Master.
The joining of those cross joints. ☯️ two opposing sides joining together to create a bond of strength. Beautiful work. Love your videos
My favorite part of these videos is that you don't have to say a word to explain what you're doing, because each step is so clear in your process.

Handsome & sound construction.
