    I came here looking for: if I could use an included head unit backup camera as a front camera on an aftermarket head unit. The answer I think, is yes. The reason I was looking is because I purchased a better backup-tailgate unit, and I would still like to use the free included back-up cam with head unit as a front-cam unit. Based on this, I believe the answer is yes. BUT I need to power the unused backup cam (now re-purposed as Front Cam)by tying into 12V+.
    On my cheap PLZ head unit, it is also necessary to enable the front cam in main settings (default is OFF); I hope this helps some.

      I bought everything from www.ebay.com. Search for reverse, backup camera and monitor.

    I want to use a reverse camera as a car front camera. How to mirror image to get the correct front view ?

      I think you have to enter the Menu and mirror it from there. This LCD mirrors both front and rear camera images!

    I also set up a connection system similar to this. It has 1 screen and two cameras. But when I press the V2 button, NO SIGNAL is displayed. The camera works when I approach the camera on the second channel. When I zoom out it says NO SIGNAL again and the screen turns blue. So there is no direct image. What could be the reason for this? The two cameras and the screen are powered from the same place. I couldn't make any sense. The camera on the V1 channel gives a direct image at the opening. But when I switch to V2, the image does not come directly.

      - Try to use 2 identical cameras
      - Switch the 2 cameras to see if the behavior is identical

      @@furulevi I want to use two cameras on my tractor. One shows the back of the tractor. I want the other camera to show the inside of the equipment connected to the back. It shows the back on channel V1. It shows the equipment on the V2 channel. When I plugged the camera to the V2 channel for the first time, I thought there was a problem with the connection or the camera. I couldn't use the camera. Then there was another camera to spare. I also temporarily hooked it up for testing. Unfortunately, the image did not come. Then I realized that when I get closer to the camera, the image comes. But when it's far away, it's a blue screen. I couldn't make sense of it. Only the camera on the V1 channel is bigger and better quality. The two cameras that I plugged into the other V2 channel and tested are the same. Both had the same problem.

      Te cameras shown in this video don't get hot at all, slightly warm at most. See if you can power them at a lower voltage using an SBEC (Switching Battery Eliminator Circuit).

      Vangy Economou (and others reading this),
      You are not supposed to wire it to the ignition since that would mean the camera is always on (as long as the ignition is on).
      You are supposed to wire it to the reverse light which means the camera is only on while the car is in reverse.
      Another option is to have a button activate the camera in case you want to see what is behind you without putting the car in reverse (for example while driving forwards). This should also only be for a short periode of time (meaning not always on).

    • @paristo
      @paristo ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to open the camera or the wire, and shortcut a two pins that connects the actual camera in housing to a chip, that is generating the reverse guidelines.

      Some cameras come with a wire you could cut if you don’t like the guidelines. Look into purchasing one of those cameras.
