Or Is it possible to switch the camera off automatically after some speed where we no longer require the camera (unless the purpose is to use it as a recorder just like a dash-cam)?

Over 520 children and pets were killed by frontover and backover collisions as of 2020. If we had Front & Rear Parking Sensors, Parking Obstruction Warning, Front & Rear Cross Traffic Warning, and Front & Rear Automatic Emergency Brake (City, Highway, Parking) as standard safety features, it would cut down the casualties.

Yeah, you can offset it, no problem with that. The most important thing is to wire it correctly and put the camera in safe and stable position :)
Does it trigger itself when on reverse? Or you have to always press the option button to trigger it for front view?

Will the front camera only turn on when you press and hold the option button?
It will also automatically appear after switching from reverse to drive, it will appear for the amount of seconds selected at the MMI settings.
Is there a system for a front and back camera that’ll be compatible with an E53 X5?
