    Thats what I noticed when we were there last year. Even Boracay that was just recently rehabbed still have trash everywhere. The other tourist destinations we went are no exception. Some people just don't care and throw there trash everywhere. I hope the government do something about it, like put big trash cans everywhere especially on tourist areas and big cities. Also make it a law and put a hefty penalties. If you are proud of your country, then why you trash it? Doesn't make any sense. Thank you Bro for what you do, If even 1 of 10 does this , it will make a big difference .

    Jay for BGC mayor 🎉 haha
    I especially like your point about how pride in the area contributes to a cleaner environment. I never thought about it that way and always assumed it was a cultural thing, but when you look at places like Japan as you mentioned and Singapore, it really does come down to pride in their urban landscape/design. Trash spoils the beauty of places

      ❇️ I live in a small block of 9 apartments 😳 I always pick up rubbish around the block 🙀 a girl in the building said “Thank you” to me implying that I was the cleaner when I am actually a owner of 1 apartment 🤪 I also pick up rubbish around my holiday home in the Philippines 🇵🇭

    You’re doing a good civic duty, Jay ! We won’t really expect everyone to be constantly tidy and clean, there will be some bad eggs who don’t care about the environment around them. We need more trash bins and public toilets in every corner but more importantly teach people to hold on to their own garbage until they dispose them properly.

      Philippines has soo many different things, a lot more, that are worth to be proud of more than many other countries even though it also has shortcomings more than many other countries because these shortcomings are really understandable, but more importantly, they are slowly being overcome. EXCEPT there is one small, common sense thing that can overshadow and ruin all that pride because it's something to be really ashamed of because, with simple COMMON SENSE, it shouldn't even be a problem much less turn to a big problem. I don't want to have to say what it is, or explain why it is to people because, anywhere else in the world, it's common sense NOT TO THROW YOUR TRASH ANYWHERE.
      So I wonder why you're expressing pride instead of shame when a foreigner, again, shows more care and a sense of pride for his home and community than many other local people, that he feels forced, and nobody else local, to act and to set/show proper example of something that is, again, COMMON SENSE.

    Adopt a place Jenny and Jay. Thank you for being concerned the cleanliness of where you live.
    Japan is very clean compared to the Philippines plus, Japanese are very disciplined. We lived in Japan for more than 10 years. One of the best countries we ever lived, safe and clean. Goodluck Jay and Jenny. Hope, this will be the start of a big project.

    I hope that litterbugs are captured on cam, fined and spend some time in detention. Not fair to people, the place we live in, and to the environment. BGC can be a prime example and start this campaign. Thanks Jay!

    Nice that you are taking care of the environment and informing the public about this problem. To be honest, majority of Filipinos lacked discipline. You should be appointed the global ambassador of BGC! The Chairman of BGC is Mergim. Hehe😁

    Good job! Sana Yung mga Pinoy magkaroon ng disiplina gaya ng sa Japan, Marami area madumi sa Metro Manila pero parang walang paki yung iba, street vendor squatting number 1 nagdadala ng basura sa kalsada. May batas for that pero Hindi naimplement ng maayos hopefully in the near future maging mas malinis ang Pilipinas.

    Yes, in Japan they don’t have many public bins because the people are encouraged by the government to take their garbage home and dispose them locally in community bins for solid wastes and recyclables. One of my frustrations in the Philippines is the thoughtless disposal of garbage by people in many places. It’s the lack of respect for the environment and of each other because even if they are just visiting a place, other people do live and work there. They need to teach civic responsibility in school, starting from kindergarten and onward, like they do in Japan. Children in Japan actually clean their school rooms and toilets everyday.

  • @chrisk7118
    @chrisk7118 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I noticed in Philippines there aren't really public garbage bins anywhere? There's no culture of putting stuff in the bin like normal countries... It's rare to find a shopping mall with them and they should be leading by example. Where are the recycling companies and waste disposal empires? Weekly Barangay garbage bin pick ups etc.... This is really needed throughout the whole Philippines in order to level up to first world standards.

    Poor people like to throw trash where rich people live. I think the city should hire or buy a street sweeper. It's fast and easy. Our streets in the US get street sweeping every other week.
