2018 was a mic drop year for RMC! They blew everyone away with Steel Vengence, debuted their raptor model to rave reviews, and still converted 2 additional woodies into hybrids. RMC went into the 2010s as an underdog and came out of the decade rollin' with the big boys!

7:30 - talking about Raptor at Gardaland 7:35 - talking about Takabisha, the steepest roller . Sequoia adventure is just chllin' in the corner then 😂 . Great video, it was a super interesting with some coasters I totally overlooked and would not have considered good!
Another great video! Also I think you got it right. The emergence of RMC has changed the coaster world. My home park is CP and I am lucky enough to have the best all around coaster in my backyard. There are few times in life when the hype lives up to...well, all the hype. And RMC did it for me. I absolutely love riding with people that have never been on SV before. Rides like Fury are fantastic, but you can see what's coming for the most part. RMC is much more sneaky. You have to ride one to understand and that's what makes them great.
I think one of the most underrated ones is Wooden Warrior. I think it did for small size parks over the past decade what CCI's Raven did for mid-size parks in the 1990s/early 2000s. It was a super compact coaster with modest height that delivered an action packed ride for an affordable price.
I have never been so excited for the future of my home park, California’s Great America. Haven’t been this excited for the future of the industry in general, in a good 20 years. Just one thing - can we have Arrow back? Kickstarter??
There's a crap ton of big & little coaster/amusement ride companies all over Northern Utah that sprang up from Arrow's demise (like S&S), so it's not like they've disappeared completely. The in-house Lagoon design team that made Cannibal in this video is lead by a bunch of ex-Arrow dudes for example.
@@360coasters Yup. For instance, the 100% in-house Lagoon Rides & Coasters Design Group is headed up by Dal Freeman (was the lead designer on ALL 3 of Lagoon's fully in-house designed coasters, inc. the super innovative/groundbreaking Wicked & Cannibal). Dal was one of the lead coaster designers at Arrow before it crumbled & for a looong time prior. He lead designed Magnum XL-200 for example, even if Ron Toomer stole the official lead design credit (as he also did for a number other big Arrow rides as the firm's nominal "head coaster designer" for a major stretch of time back then. Not that Ron isn't a RIDICULOUSLY talented coaster designer in his own right, because he totally is. I find it interesting how certain park and construction firm combos emerge as "trend setters" in different decades. In the 90's it was Six Flags Great America and the debut of B&M, in the 00's it was Cedar Point and Intamin, and the 10's it was probably Fiesta Texas and RMC.
I dunno if I agree with that statement, especially since SFMM and Cedar Point entered what is effectively an arms race in the 90s that they haven't technically stopped. Hell, Magic Mountain by itself is basically a must for any coaster enthusiast's bucket list mainly because it features a ton of unique coasters with seriously buffed-up stats. No really most of the roller coasters there have some kind of record.
I think I have an idea for a new ride model. So basically, what happens is you go up a chainlift backwards. At the top you stop for a second and then drop down and head up into a half loop and two corkscrews faced in a way to function as a turn around. You go through one more vertical loop, go back up a chainlift, this time facing forward. You roll back and go through the layout backwards over again. I would call this revolutionary ride a Boomerang. I’m lucky I’m so original! 😀

Haven't ridden Cannibal yet, but excited that Lagoon has it. As you said, the only park in the area, so upping the game of what they have to offer is awesome!
Formula is one of the coasters that made me fall in love, well, with rollercoasters (although really the first inverting coaster I rode was the SLC at the same park, which I also enjoyed). Without it, most likely I would've never thought of going to other parks and coasters outside of my country (Colossos!) It probably has been and will be the first extreme-class coaster of many other Poles too.
Ty for showing Shockwave in this video. So many memories of that ride. Although it was a bit rough, it was a great coaster overall. RIP Shockwave "Save the Whizzer so Shockwave became chop liver"
I made a video on this same subject, and it's kind of surreal but very cool seeing many of the same coasters making the list for the same reasons. The 2010s was an amazing decade for innovation in the theme park industry! Awesome video!
Here's hoping they continue with more coasters, less animals. Like, they could theme their parks to the sea, kind of like DisneySea in Japan, and make their parks much better. If they do that, I'll finally go.
Thanks for another amazing video. Just one small mistake, in the description of New Texas Giant you say that cedar fair started working with rmc in 2016.
Noah Berlin That's because shortly after the close of Mean Streak in 2016 RMC track appeared and was on the structure coming out of the station and part way up the lift by the end of Halloweekends. RMC crews worked on the coaster all through the 2017 season even though the park remained tight-lipped until Aug 2017. But if you were thinking it was earlier than 2016 you may be right if you could trace it back to the first phone call!
I'm still sad I missed out on Cannibal when I visited Lagoon, I got really sick halfway through the day and never made it on. Next time I go up to Montana to visit family from California, I'm stopping there again just so I can ride it...
Yes the Vekoma Models are awesome. I was last year at Legendia for the Lech Coaster. This Coaster is such fun. I just hope Phantasialand will be able to open Fly this Year and Tripsdrill will open a STC also this year 👌
I knew New Texas Giant would be 1. It’s also a much better ride than it gets credit for. My 3rd favorite RMC out of the 5 I’ve done, much better than Twisted Colossus and Twisted Timbers
I'm guessing I305 would have been #18 and that's why this list has 17 entries. (The ride was extremely important to the park and the region, even if debatable effectiveness. I232 kicked off a whole program of much needed improvements, but KD got the first giga in a decade.)
I guess you could say i305 paved the way for the other 3 Cedar Fair gigas by B&M but its a stretch, and after i305 Cedar Fair ignored KD for 8 years so i didnt think it belonged on this list
@@AirtimeThrills Actually it was part of a 5 year plan, with first things first. The next 5 didn't align, industry trends. They're going to have to step it up with old coasters dying on them (if they can, now) but surely they knew that was coming.
Honourable mention: DC Rivals at Movieworld Australia. A Mack Hypercoaster with a great mixture of crazy airtime and positive G forces. Started the competition between the other parks in the area, soon we are getting a Mack Multilaunch clone of Blue Fire at Dreamworld and then over at SeaWorld we are getting a Gravity Group woodie.
Levianthan is one of my all-time favorites. I grew up in Mississauga and Canada's wonderland holds a spot in my heart but I now live in Windsor and Cedar Point is my home park now. that being said Leviathan edges out Millenium force for enjoyability.
That spinning coaster that's build in Plopsaland is called "The Ride to Happiness" and is themed by Tomorrowland, featuring an exclusive soundtrack made by Tomorrowland. Price of the coaster is 17,5 Million Euro. For thrillseekers, don't forget that Plopsaland is mostly aimed to the smallest amongst us, kids.
I would’ve had I305 on here because it was the first coaster that showed any manufacturer or park that there is such a thing as too much intensity. Intamin’s rides had been getting more and more intense since Millennium Force and began to get more tame after i305. Except for sky rush which was an experiment with airtime intensity limits.
I'll just say this much, Fury made Carowinds a destination park (for coaster junkies), not to knock on Steel Vengeance (I do that enough) but it didn't turn Cedar Point into a destination alone.
11:56 Lightning Rod’s problems are more that it has a launch made by a local company that had no experience with coasters. If the launch had been made by a company with more experience, the ride wouldn’t have nearly as many problems.
I think this is an awesome video for the most part, but I think you need to mention when particular rides have had serious injuries or deaths. Namely, The Smiler and New Texas Giant. I know RMC had nothing to do with the New Texas Giant death, being that it was an issue of Ride Ops and/or Gerstlaeur's trains, but it still seems negligent to ignore it when you're talking about the roller coaster's place in history. I think you should give brief mentions of these things.

Without it, most likely I would've never thought of going to other parks and coasters outside of my country (Colossos!)
It probably has been and will be the first extreme-class coaster of many other Poles too.
3:54: “Funny enough, you won’t find any of these in the major park chains”
Energylandia: *”AM I A GOD DANG JOKE TO YOU”*
Technically yes because he doesn’t know
Ty for showing Shockwave in this video. So many memories of that ride. Although it was a bit rough, it was a great coaster overall.
RIP Shockwave
"Save the Whizzer so Shockwave became chop liver"
You help me live the dream I can't afford I guess it's wild adventures and SFOG for life for me great video as usual.
Maybe you could make a video about parks that need investments like Thorpe park or you could even make a individual video about it.
Love seeing my hometown park get some love. Lagoon is awesome and Cannibal is one of my favorite roller coasters I've ever ridden
I made a video on this same subject, and it's kind of surreal but very cool seeing many of the same coasters making the list for the same reasons. The 2010s was an amazing decade for innovation in the theme park industry! Awesome video!
At 1:29 I think blackfish broke the ice between seaworld and coasters...
Here's hoping they continue with more coasters, less animals. Like, they could theme their parks to the sea, kind of like DisneySea in Japan, and make their parks much better. If they do that, I'll finally go.
I agree but Manta came before Blackfish
Thanks for another amazing video. Just one small mistake, in the description of New Texas Giant you say that cedar fair started working with rmc in 2016.
Noah Berlin That's because shortly after the close of Mean Streak in 2016 RMC track appeared and was on the structure coming out of the station and part way up the lift by the end of Halloweekends. RMC crews worked on the coaster all through the 2017 season even though the park remained tight-lipped until Aug 2017. But if you were thinking it was earlier than 2016 you may be right if you could trace it back to the first phone call!
Tim K ok thanks
I'm still sad I missed out on Cannibal when I visited Lagoon, I got really sick halfway through the day and never made it on. Next time I go up to Montana to visit family from California, I'm stopping there again just so I can ride it...
Over texas is my home park and while Texas Giant is not as strong as other RMCs its still a phenomenal coaster packed with plenty of airtime.
Yes the Vekoma Models are awesome. I was last year at Legendia for the Lech Coaster. This Coaster is such fun. I just hope Phantasialand will be able to open Fly this Year and Tripsdrill will open a STC also this year 👌
Came because I'm a New Vekoma fanboy.
Stayed because your list is spot on!
Now... I wonder which coaster(s) will be the most important in the twenties? 😎
I agree with you
It’s awesome to see ZDT’s on this list!
i think fury 325 is important to B&M because it shows what B&M can do. and that they are the king of Gigas
I knew New Texas Giant would be 1. It’s also a much better ride than it gets credit for. My 3rd favorite RMC out of the 5 I’ve done, much better than Twisted Colossus and Twisted Timbers
nice to see Cannibal get some love!
Im happy to see Leviathan on this list, its an easy first and last ride of the day at Wonderland (with several revisits throughout the day)
Honourable mention: DC Rivals at Movieworld Australia.
16:47 I know more than two parks have received ground-up RMCs, including Six Flags Great America.
Levianthan is one of my all-time favorites. I grew up in Mississauga and Canada's wonderland holds a spot in my heart but I now live in Windsor and Cedar Point is my home park now.
that being said Leviathan edges out Millenium force for enjoyability.
I'm mad I watched this video because now I can't wait to get back on a roller coaster!!! Btw, great concept for a roller coaster video. 👍
RIP Mean Streak!!
I love that I can feel the airtime while watching this video!!
Everybody likes a ranking video
Fury 325 is the tallest traditional lift hill coaster in the world, Of course it deserves to be on this list.... That alone is a good reason.
Great video!
What would you rather go to,
Carowinds or bush gardens tampa
BGT no doubt. They got Iron Gwazi, Kumba, Montu, and a bunch of other unique and well themed attractions. Plus it's a SeaWorld park
BGT
I don’t know.
Fury or Iron Gwazi? Hmmm... Maybe BGT because Carowinds lineup isn’t as strong
BGT because of Iron Gwazi.
The Clone Wars reference earned my like 👌
"RMC added ground-up wooden coasters to Silver Dollar City and Dollywood"
**Goliath at SFGAM has left the chat in tears** :'(
I'll just say this much, Fury made Carowinds a destination park (for coaster junkies), not to knock on Steel Vengeance (I do that enough) but it didn't turn Cedar Point into a destination alone.
I’m so happy that Silver Dollar City is my home park! I just hop Worlds of Fun will get a new coaster all
Most important coasters of the 2010s-
RMC- hold my beer.
Love to see that t Rex Keeps popping up on this channel haha
11:56 Lightning Rod’s problems are more that it has a launch made by a local company that had no experience with coasters. If the launch had been made by a company with more experience, the ride wouldn’t have nearly as many problems.
Yeah they should have called Premier for the launch
TheSpanishPotato im wondering who built thunderbird‘s launch, it‘s reliable and I don’t think it‘s B&M‘s own work
I love how Gerstlauer made a spinning coaster with a launch and inversions before Mack did but everyone says that Mack did it first.
Very nice list
Top 10 parks that haven't gotten a coaster in the past decade
I have a video idea. What if you did a video ranking the best coaster types under 10 million dollars?
That could be interesting
