I know this is a reply 2 years later but you have to at least understand there's a levels of cheapness. Final bosses can be cheap, but they can be so cheap that it nearly ruins the experience.

Airjet2582 yeah! that was one of the best things about old tekkens. the strife to unlock the next character. they should do like DOA 5 did: make everything unlocked for versus so tournament players have no problems. let the single players audience unlock their content through sp modes. easy as that..
Can I ask why? I mean why would anyone want to unlock characters it's such an archaic mechanic and just means if the characters you like are locked tough shit you can't play em in this game you spent $60 on
Airjet2582 It's simply not doable with online in mind. People want to play the actual game as soon as they get it, not grind for hours to use their main. I believe customization parts work as an ok replacement.
It was clear Namco made this with competitive players in mind. My only problem with the game is the lack of team battle it's what me and my friends mostly played in other Tekken games.
This still doesn't make any sense to me. I mean yeah fine tuning the game is important for a competitive fighter like this but don't they have a separate team that could have worked on new modes and such alongside it? I mean, they literally could've just copy pasted older modes from all the other games and no one would even be complaining right now since those modes are pretty timeless. Only excuse I can relly think of for this is that its a new engine so porting that stuff over probably isn't as easy as it sounds but still...
SO true! My fave part of the game was being with friends on the couch playing Team Battle! That was great for tactics of how you selected your team. Encouraged you to try new ones. And of course, dress them in team colours. ;) If they’ve included Team Battle, Survival and Time Attack, I’d forgive the lack of character endings and with the extras like music selection, old movies-rewatch etc and the gameplay I’d say it’s the best Tekken. But at least Team Battle, come on Namco WTF! :/

Funny thing about the narrator, he's also the man who says "GET READY FOR THE NEXT BATTLE battle battle...." But he was TOLD to be flat as possible when reading the lines. Also with Shin Akuma... All his attacks are stuff you can actually do as Akuma. You can side step the fireballs, duck the focus attacks, jump back to avoid the demon, or as you mentioned use the Rage Art to beat his if you're in rage if he does it toward the end of the fight.
This review makes sense from the perspective of a casual that doesn't really get into fighting games. Meanwhile I'm incredibly enjoying myself despite this being my first fighting game and I'm putting dedication into learning the game. There's no particular reason to tell someone "you shouldn't buy Tekken 7" that I can find, but I wouldn't say to absolutely everyone "Tekken 7 should be the standard of fighting games". It's a 3D fighter and it's Tekken and it's never shied away from that. They are more difficult than other fighting games. The competitive community has embraced Tekken 7 and loves it, but the casual audience might be hit or miss because they mostly don't have the time to commit.
Couldn't agree more, I also don't like how modern games don't have unlockables. For example, if Tekken 7 had slimmed down the roster, and had you play through with each character to unlock an additional character, it would've be a better game. It would give you a reason to explore and play through with each character and a reward for doing so. Also what happened to Survival mode!?
Lack of unlockables is why my interest in TTT2's arcade mode went down. Game just one day decided to unlock all the endings 😐 Still played it for fun and for tag team combos. Haven't touched T7's Arcade mode because a) it's only 5 fights, b) it unlocks nothing and c) story mode AI put me off
For a second I thought you were talking about unblockables. Unlockables are an outmoded mechanic which was and is cool but it makes zero sense for Tekken 7 for a multitude of reasons. One being that is gearing towards online, multiplayer and tournament play and the other reason is that some characters already have two hundred moves like Hwoarang and Ling. There is a form of unlockables in costumes. There's already a ton to explore in the game; my complain is there is no frame data available in game.
Honestly, I feel like Smash Ultimate's Classic Mode is what the side stories in Tekken 7 should've been; predetermined battles against multiple opponents depending on the context of their stories.
Even the main story was terrible. Harada has such a boner for Heihachi that he had to retcon him into a sympathetic character and made him more powerful than Devil Kazuya in his purest form. Bollocks all around and there was no closure to the Mishima storyline as was advertised.

While I wholeheartedly agree with you on this, Jun actually can't be in any main-line Tekken series games anymore. She died canonically between Tekken 2 and Tekken 3. The only reason she's in Tekken Tag 1 and 2 is because they aren't canon and contain all characters from all games that weren't externally licensed (like Gon). That said, pls Namco bring back my boi Ganryu the Sushi Train.

As a decently hardcore player who wants to get into tournaments in this game, I gotta say that the lack of worthwhile content disappointed me, too. Imagine having Team Battle online!
greatestgamer 00 Azazel was the worst boss battle in Tekken angry. Got me angry for hours up on hours upon hours. Shin akuma felt the same way, except I have less patience now so I gave up. in the past. my anger and determination kept me going. now, I say fuck it. It's not fun so not worth it
whenever people ask you why would you play the older tekkens, instead of the new one, you can simply say, because i wanted to play one of the many things, that i enjoyed that are no longer present in 7...
The biggest miss for me in this game was the story mode, the arcade ladder, no team battle, a lackluster Tekken Bowl mode (with no online play even wtf), and so many other knick-knacks like how - in online fights - you have to view the "Get ready for the next battle screen" over again, even though it's the same map and the same characters. Like it's all loaded, why reload it? The game itself and its mechanics are the most refined and balanced to date, so I have no complaints there. The fighting itself is fantastic. But yeah, 9-stage arcade ladder with cutscenes in between, as well as an ending like in 5, team battle, and characters you have to unlock, rather than buy, and I'd give this game a 10/10, but right now, it's a 7/10 for me
I just go back and play Tekken Tag 2. Best Tekken game around. Largest roster, largest level count, and Customisation was off the charts with all the options as well as the option to change the game's music with your own.
Honestly, The story mode should have involved all characters. or go with the old way of doing things and let you pick a character to play the story mode throughout whilst having one canon ending or the story revolving alongside it.
Is it just me or does hearing a 3D fighting game get compared to 2D fighting game get annoying instantly. They can't be compared to properly. The mechanics of a 2D fighting game are not fully applicable to a 3D space. Simple as that.

the introduction of Eliza and Akuma (and the next DLC Geese) is, in my theory, to prepare for the eventual Tekken x Street Fighter game. I actually cant wait to see how Bamco will do some more of SF's characters.
They hella nerfed Akuma's landing frames when he jumps and just recently nerfed a lot of damage on moves. Overall I think he was implemented incredibly well into Tekken 7. An excellent high execution character.
This is so far the worst Tekken game in terms of: - single player fun - costumes - story mode - variety of fight modes - cutscenes and character endings - originality of rage art
Danny Ben S yeah... Except this is easily the best tekken game. Tekken 2 is my nostalgia favorite but tekken 7 is easily the best one. Heck ots possibly the best fighting game in the last decade. Well guilty gear/blazblue are the best probably but they are way too hard and takes way too much time to learn. Tekken is hard and takes time too but i enjoy it a lot more

I'm loving Tekken 7 so far, but the only offputting thing is the lack of characters that I mained (Anna, Julia, Bruce himself, not Josie) but I got over it. There are still most of the popular ones and new ones to appreciate, like Katarina or Gigas
Caddy I don't see how bringing up a menu after a VS match to you at least be considered "unnecessary." So should the game just automatically assume you want a rematch or change characters or just boot you all the way back to the main menu when you just wanted to swap characters? I don't see how it's a nuisance
This video aged pretty well. Which is not a good sign, because Tekken 7 is still pretty bare bones. Still no team battle mode, Tekken ball, Tekken force, survival mode and so on.
Your barely mentioning the multiplayer aspect at all which where tekken 7 is actually where most of the game is , your going at it from only a perspective as if it was an offline story based game. The story was trash , while it had lore it was more of a setup to Jin waking up main reason most people play is for playing it online
I completely agree with your review Caddy, the game is brilliant and feels a lot tighter with the new mechanics etc, but the fact they got rid of a lot of the modes like Survival, Team battle and Time Attack etc is ridiculous, plus making the Arcade only 5 battles is pathetic, as well as the character episodes only being one fight. Also I really think adding Akuma to the game was a bad idea, he's a terrible addition to the game imo, I think they only added him to make up for not releasing a Tekken X Street Fighter game. Apart from that, the Story is pretty decent and online mode & Treasure Battle is a lot of fun :D
As a newby Tekken player it took me days to be Shin Akuma. Good Christ on a bike was so happy when it was over, I almost quit completely after I realized I loved playing the game.
What with fighting games having really mediocre amounts of content recently? Street Fighter V was...Street Fighter V, Injustice 2 had nothing if you didn't really like the gear system, Tekken 7 is barebones, MvCI looks like a mobile port. Seriously, what the hell is going on?
I disagree Caddy, I think Tekken 7 is a great game. Though I do have some complaints, but they're much different than yours. 1. The customization options are severely lacking (can't edit specific body parts) 2. The way online works: they got rid of match list, so I have to sit and wait for "could not connect to opponent" and ranked matches aren't best of 2 (even Street Fighter 5 got that right) 3.GROUND ZERO FUNK IS NOT ON THE TEKKEN 5 JUKEBOX WHAT THE HELL IS THIS BULLSHIT
What happened to the narrator from the previous games? He had a great voice. Maybe it wouldn't work entirely well in this game's story mode, but it would probably be better than this
Tekken 7: Good= nice Gameplay, music is hit or miss. Bad = Weak ass Arcade mode, bare bones single player modes. Disappointing lacking story though Fights between Heihachi and Kazuya and Akuma was great... Even though Akuma was pointless in the story. Characters stories are half ass garbage, lacking and not funny.

For me the lack of character endings and unlockable characters ruined it. I wouldn't have buy it had i known they were missing. I stopped all my friends from buying it too. For me Tekken is all about the single player and local multiplayer content, and this game, after the Mishima story "Finished" (Because it's a freaking cliffhanger) i had nothing to do.
Because fighting games are competitive in nature and fighting the cpu is boring as shit lol the fun aspect of fighting games comes from increasing your skill in the game and overcoming enemies by learning and adapting. Beating a bot that only blocks 20% of the time is not fun, regardless of whether it's arcade mode or the old survival mode from previous titles.

gotta love when going to a more advanced game/console but yet there is less content almost like DVD to Bluray you would think the bigger discs would mean more content but in reality, I find DVD has often more content then the Bluray version
I completely agree with this whole review, and the sad part is...I saw this review coming. This game (while good) doesn't even compare to tekken 5 for the PS2! Tekken 5 had an awesome arcade mode, more characters, unlockable characters, all the regular modes a tekken game should have (minus online multiplayer) and not to mention it had Arcade versions of Tekken 1, 2, 3 and Starblade. It also had Devil within. All of these modes were on a PS2 disk for fuck sake. Why can't this be replicated on a next gen console? Oh and screw shin Akuma....
Devil Within was a trash mode though, Tekken Force in Tekken 3 and 4 and The Mishima Saga in Tekken 7 is certainly a lot more enjoyable than that. Tekken 1 has also aged poorly and there is no reasons going back to it in this day and age. Tekken 7 also had more substantial character customization options compared to Tekken 5 (though worse than Tekken 6 and Tekken Tag 2 honestly, which is a bit sad). You're right about the arcade mode though, it's certainly a lot beefier in Tekken 5 with CG endings for each character even though Jinpachi was a bit cheap.
t7 has more characters tho. and T7 has all cinematics from t1-17 and also the ost from all tekken games, where you can make your playlist. Sure this game doesn't offer many offline modes, but the main focus of tekken 7 is on competitive gaming, because there is no future for fighting games to focus on the casuals. the people complaining about the lack of single player modes are only a small percentage of the today's tekken community.
The trick with Shin Akuma was you had to keep performing a specific grab of Devil Kazuya's where he launches him into the air and smashes him into the ground, it took me 6 tries but I agree with Caddy that fight is the cheapest bullshit they've ever put in Tekken
I still don't care about the character stories being shit or the lack of extra modes. The only thing I didn't like is the removal of team battle. I never cared about tekken bowl or force ect.
You say that Shin Akuma is the cheapest boss in video game history? You haven't lived a single bloody day of your life until you fought against the final boss in score attack mode in Arcana Hearts 3; Parace L'sia.
i skipped tekken 6 since i just kinda had to much to get at the time and i wasnt looking for a fighter especially after mk9 but i got tekken 7 and i am having tons of fun
I would have been happy if Tekken 7 would have included Ghost Battle from Tekken 6 but included the elements of Treasure Battle. It gets pretty annoying fighting the same opponents on the same stages. What happened to being able to choose one of three characters to fight and the stage changing?
I really don't get how it isn't great when the ONE thing that truly maters for a fighting game (at least for me) is the game play. This by far has the best gameplay in the series.
Fighting games especially Tekken have high skill ceilings and becoming good at the game IS the content, Metal Gear Solid 5 was just a shallow game with polished gameplay spread over lackluster game design. Tekken is about one thing and one thing only, challenging fighting, and getting good at even one character takes far longer than any other game, which is why it's not for most people.
Where Caddicarus is going here is that graphics don't make the fucking game, as while Tekken 7 does look nice, it has a common complaint that most Triple-A games face: that it looks good but it doesn't have the stuff to back up the visuals, while most of the time all you get is the base game while everything else is DLC. It's not a fuffilling experince when you got dicks like the aftermentioned Akuma.
Tekken 7 might not be perfect fighting game but it's damn good one. So good in fact that I feel that 2,5 years wait for it to be released on consoles and PC was worth it after being on arcades all that time. It's lot better than Injustice 2 and upcoming MvC Infinite that's for sure. I do feel that Tekken 7 has enough modes to keep casual players busy and while roster is still missing some important characters like Lei, Anna and Julia it's still large enough that characters that are there have good variety of fighting and play styles. Then again not only my favorite characters are in but also I do really like playing Treasure Battle for those sweet unlockable customization options.
In my opinion I think Tekken 7 did something similar to SFV, which was cater more towards pro players/competitive fans instead of casual players, which ultimately amount to at least 70% of sales for fighting games. And that's something you should never do. Yes, gameplay is the main meat of a fighting game but if you add no replayability to the single player aspect of the game then it will drive people away from the game in the end.
You're supposed to play fighting games against other people. People who demand a phenomenal story mode are just completely retarded. Here's a hint; you're playing the wrong genre if you expect a story on the scale of a final fantasy game. The focus is built into fighting other players, because the time spent fighting other players is 99.9% of the game. People who only play stuff for story only play things once then drop it. Why would you cater to an unloyal playerbase? There's a reason Tekken is the most successful fighting game at the moment. Because it's good.
I miss the days of having to play the game as certain characters or a number of times to unlock the roster. As well as the much more structured arcade mode with personal stories that have you facing off rivals rather than it just being the one-shot stories. It honestly feels like 75% of the available characters are just there for online variety and impact nothing which is truly saddening. That said I LOVE the game regardless and I am obsessed with it still so I can totally relate to Caddy's opinions as the criticisms I have seem to be me saying I hated it when that's far from the truth.

It was awesome archaic mechanic. Unlocking character was adding some mystery and satisfaction to the game.
Well you can still unlock custom unique costumes. A lot of the old costumes can be bought or unlocked via treasures.

Shigeru Yokoyama led development with a small team. Initial planning took about two months to finish. Originally developed for the Namco Galaxian arcade board, it was instead shifted to a new system as suggested by Namco's Research and Development division. Inspiration for the dual fighter mechanic was taken from a film that Yokoyama had seen prior to development, where a ship was captured using a large circular beam. The project became immensely popular around the company, with Namco's president Masaya Nakamura even taking interest.

I played through the whole game on normal difficulty but with Devil Vs Akuma I had to drop it down to easy because he is just utter BS.
Funny thing about the narrator, he's also the man who says "GET READY FOR THE NEXT BATTLE battle battle...." But he was TOLD to be flat as possible when reading the lines.
Also with Shin Akuma... All his attacks are stuff you can actually do as Akuma.
You can side step the fireballs, duck the focus attacks, jump back to avoid the demon, or as you mentioned use the Rage Art to beat his if you're in rage if he does it toward the end of the fight.

This review makes sense from the perspective of a casual that doesn't really get into fighting games. Meanwhile I'm incredibly enjoying myself despite this being my first fighting game and I'm putting dedication into learning the game. There's no particular reason to tell someone "you shouldn't buy Tekken 7" that I can find, but I wouldn't say to absolutely everyone "Tekken 7 should be the standard of fighting games". It's a 3D fighter and it's Tekken and it's never shied away from that. They are more difficult than other fighting games. The competitive community has embraced Tekken 7 and loves it, but the casual audience might be hit or miss because they mostly don't have the time to commit.
Couldn't agree more, I also don't like how modern games don't have unlockables. For example, if Tekken 7 had slimmed down the roster, and had you play through with each character to unlock an additional character, it would've be a better game. It would give you a reason to explore and play through with each character and a reward for doing so. Also what happened to Survival mode!?
Lack of unlockables is why my interest in TTT2's arcade mode went down. Game just one day decided to unlock all the endings 😐
Still played it for fun and for tag team combos. Haven't touched T7's Arcade mode because a) it's only 5 fights, b) it unlocks nothing and c) story mode AI put me off

For a second I thought you were talking about unblockables. Unlockables are an outmoded mechanic which was and is cool but it makes zero sense for Tekken 7 for a multitude of reasons. One being that is gearing towards online, multiplayer and tournament play and the other reason is that some characters already have two hundred moves like Hwoarang and Ling. There is a form of unlockables in costumes. There's already a ton to explore in the game; my complain is there is no frame data available in game.
Honestly, I feel like Smash Ultimate's Classic Mode is what the side stories in Tekken 7 should've been; predetermined battles against multiple opponents depending on the context of their stories.
Even the main story was terrible. Harada has such a boner for Heihachi that he had to retcon him into a sympathetic character and made him more powerful than Devil Kazuya in his purest form. Bollocks all around and there was no closure to the Mishima storyline as was advertised.

While I wholeheartedly agree with you on this, Jun actually can't be in any main-line Tekken series games anymore. She died canonically between Tekken 2 and Tekken 3. The only reason she's in Tekken Tag 1 and 2 is because they aren't canon and contain all characters from all games that weren't externally licensed (like Gon).

The biggest miss for me in this game was the story mode, the arcade ladder, no team battle, a lackluster Tekken Bowl mode (with no online play even wtf), and so many other knick-knacks like how - in online fights - you have to view the "Get ready for the next battle screen" over again, even though it's the same map and the same characters. Like it's all loaded, why reload it?
The game itself and its mechanics are the most refined and balanced to date, so I have no complaints there. The fighting itself is fantastic.
But yeah, 9-stage arcade ladder with cutscenes in between, as well as an ending like in 5, team battle, and characters you have to unlock, rather than buy, and I'd give this game a 10/10, but right now, it's a 7/10 for me
I just go back and play Tekken Tag 2. Best Tekken game around. Largest roster, largest level count, and Customisation was off the charts with all the options as well as the option to change the game's music with your own.

the introduction of Eliza and Akuma (and the next DLC Geese) is, in my theory, to prepare for the eventual Tekken x Street Fighter game. I actually cant wait to see how Bamco will do some more of SF's characters.
They hella nerfed Akuma's landing frames when he jumps and just recently nerfed a lot of damage on moves. Overall I think he was implemented incredibly well into Tekken 7. An excellent high execution character.

I completely agree with your review Caddy, the game is brilliant and feels a lot tighter with the new mechanics etc, but the fact they got rid of a lot of the modes like Survival, Team battle and Time Attack etc is ridiculous, plus making the Arcade only 5 battles is pathetic, as well as the character episodes only being one fight. Also I really think adding Akuma to the game was a bad idea, he's a terrible addition to the game imo, I think they only added him to make up for not releasing a Tekken X Street Fighter game. Apart from that, the Story is pretty decent and online mode & Treasure Battle is a lot of fun :D

I disagree Caddy, I think Tekken 7 is a great game. Though I do have some complaints, but they're much different than yours.
1. The customization options are severely lacking (can't edit specific body parts)
2. The way online works: they got rid of match list, so I have to sit and wait for "could not connect to opponent" and ranked matches aren't best of 2 (even Street Fighter 5 got that right)

Bad = Weak ass Arcade mode, bare bones single player modes. Disappointing lacking story though Fights between Heihachi and Kazuya and Akuma was great... Even though Akuma was pointless in the story. Characters stories are half ass garbage, lacking and not funny.

The loading times are the biggest thing I hate about this game.
For me the lack of character endings and unlockable characters ruined it. I wouldn't have buy it had i known they were missing. I stopped all my friends from buying it too. For me Tekken is all about the single player and local multiplayer content, and this game, after the Mishima story "Finished" (Because it's a freaking cliffhanger) i had nothing to do.
Because fighting games are competitive in nature and fighting the cpu is boring as shit lol the fun aspect of fighting games comes from increasing your skill in the game and overcoming enemies by learning and adapting. Beating a bot that only blocks 20% of the time is not fun, regardless of whether it's arcade mode or the old survival mode from previous titles.
The content in this game is becoming good at the system, which takes a lot longer than a 12 hour story mode.

This game (while good) doesn't even compare to tekken 5 for the PS2! Tekken 5 had an awesome arcade mode, more characters, unlockable characters, all the regular modes a tekken game should have (minus online multiplayer) and not to mention it had Arcade versions of Tekken 1, 2, 3 and Starblade. It also had Devil within.
All of these modes were on a PS2 disk for fuck sake. Why can't this be replicated on a next gen console?

Devil Within was a trash mode though, Tekken Force in Tekken 3 and 4 and The Mishima Saga in Tekken 7 is certainly a lot more enjoyable than that. Tekken 1 has also aged poorly and there is no reasons going back to it in this day and age. Tekken 7 also had more substantial character customization options compared to Tekken 5 (though worse than Tekken 6 and Tekken Tag 2 honestly, which is a bit sad).
You're right about the arcade mode though, it's certainly a lot beefier in Tekken 5 with CG endings for each character even though Jinpachi was a bit cheap.
t7 has more characters tho. and T7 has all cinematics from t1-17 and also the ost from all tekken games, where you can make your playlist. Sure this game doesn't offer many offline modes, but the main focus of tekken 7 is on competitive gaming, because there is no future for fighting games to focus on the casuals. the people complaining about the lack of single player modes are only a small percentage of the today's tekken community.

The trick with Shin Akuma was you had to keep performing a specific grab of Devil Kazuya's where he launches him into the air and smashes him into the ground, it took me 6 tries but I agree with Caddy that fight is the cheapest bullshit they've ever put in Tekken

I would have been happy if Tekken 7 would have included Ghost Battle from Tekken 6 but included the elements of Treasure Battle. It gets pretty annoying fighting the same opponents on the same stages. What happened to being able to choose one of three characters to fight and the stage changing?
I really don't get how it isn't great when the ONE thing that truly maters for a fighting game (at least for me) is the game play. This by far has the best gameplay in the series.
Games are made of many elements, not just one; take Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes for example, which had some superb content that lasted an hour.
Fighting games especially Tekken have high skill ceilings and becoming good at the game IS the content, Metal Gear Solid 5 was just a shallow game with polished gameplay spread over lackluster game design. Tekken is about one thing and one thing only, challenging fighting, and getting good at even one character takes far longer than any other game, which is why it's not for most people.
Why team battle is gone... I think because load times are horrible. Every time a change is made, loading has to be made.
Tekken 6 has way lengthier loading than this and still had Team Battle intact.

Where Caddicarus is going here is that graphics don't make the fucking game, as while Tekken 7 does look nice, it has a common complaint that most Triple-A games face: that it looks good but it doesn't have the stuff to back up the visuals, while most of the time all you get is the base game while everything else is DLC. It's not a fuffilling experince when you got dicks like the aftermentioned Akuma.

Tekken 7 might not be perfect fighting game but it's damn good one. So good in fact that I feel that 2,5 years wait for it to be released on consoles and PC was worth it after being on arcades all that time. It's lot better than Injustice 2 and upcoming MvC Infinite that's for sure.
I do feel that Tekken 7 has enough modes to keep casual players busy and while roster is still missing some important characters like Lei, Anna and Julia it's still large enough that characters that are there have good variety of fighting and play styles. Then again not only my favorite characters are in but also I do really like playing Treasure Battle for those sweet unlockable customization options.

In my opinion I think Tekken 7 did something similar to SFV, which was cater more towards pro players/competitive fans instead of casual players, which ultimately amount to at least 70% of sales for fighting games. And that's something you should never do. Yes, gameplay is the main meat of a fighting game but if you add no replayability to the single player aspect of the game then it will drive people away from the game in the end.

The focus is built into fighting other players, because the time spent fighting other players is 99.9% of the game. People who only play stuff for story only play things once then drop it. Why would you cater to an unloyal playerbase?
There's a reason Tekken is the most successful fighting game at the moment. Because it's good.

You realize that Tekken is a legacy game right? The gameplay is meant to be pretty much the same.
It's a shame that there's no Story Battle in Tekken 7, hope Tekken 8 brings it back

I miss the days of having to play the game as certain characters or a number of times to unlock the roster. As well as the much more structured arcade mode with personal stories that have you facing off rivals rather than it just being the one-shot stories. It honestly feels like 75% of the available characters are just there for online variety and impact nothing which is truly saddening. That said I LOVE the game regardless and I am obsessed with it still so I can totally relate to Caddy's opinions as the criticisms I have seem to be me saying I hated it when that's far from the truth.
