It was raining and my caliber loss acceleration like going to dye with the thunder light blinking on my dashboard looking in TH-cam found the cause then your video. I followed the steps and made it home with no issues. Thanks a lot. Life saver $$$

The 08 caliber im working on now is throwing codes PO2118 & PO2101. TPS, TCM, and clean Throttle body, but when I got to it, the T. Body had gobs of engine oil in it. PCV valve clogged. Some you can clean or replace, but some require the valve cover to be replaced. Either way the Throttle body has to be cleaned.
My 2008 Caliber got a throttle body replacement and has had to restart often in the cold temperatures. I'm not sure its a normal situation but this video helps me through every episode. I'll give my car time to start/warm up, then follow these steps to make the lightning bolt go away and the car will stop running with a struggle
Just replaced my throttle body and it was still acting stupid. Mechanic told me to hold the pedal down for 35 seconds and it wld not work. Did your suggestion at 20 seconds and I think it's working. Fixing to take it for a spin to see. Tysm!
Totally worked! I was watching videos about cleaning the throttle body, changing it out, buying a $700 machine or hiring someone with one to program the system and this little trick worked. Wish i knew the science behind it but who cares! My $#!÷ is fixed!
It's something that Mopar does, because they actually like their consumers, such as the "key dance" where you jiggle the key from off to acc three times and it pulled the most recent codes on the ECU. This is the same reset procedure for your oil change notification too. They did it for the do-it-yourself folk that have to otherwise borrow a scanner, or for the owner to have a better idea of what needs to be done when taken to the technician, ironically it's actually covered in the owners manual
After replacing battery and alternator realized this issue which got me on my nerves but after coming through this and another video seems I found the solution,now my avenger2013 is idling at 800 no problem and runs well However will keep an eye on it since have noticed my car doesn’t have same explosivity and power it used to have specially with new alternator and battery But I’ve had for long time the p420 catalytic code so.. it might have influence in performance for sure Thank you very much !
For those with abs light you can pull abs fuse 34 and 35 ...and u can do this method and after couple days the car should run super fine, and even less engine sound.

This doesn't always work, it easier to reset your computer. Disconnect your battery terminals then put the positive and negative terminal together use a little clip so they stay connected for 15 minutes. After that your car will ride much better
It’s to reprogram or help the throttle body relearn it’s position so when you step on the accelerator it allows the right air flow. This is useful but may not fix the issue entirely.

I have a 2013 Dodge Journey and the red lighting bolt flashes and the traction control light is on. I'm going to clean the throttle body and see if that works. I might have to calibrate but I've seen people use a computer to do it. Was hoping to be able to use this method. Just wondering if you have fixed your issue and if so how?
The fix doesnt work if you dont offset the pressure that the computer reads. Putting your shoes on opposite feet helps to do that. Might not be necessary but if it saves you from buying the $700 machine...
@@dramaqueen7623 the proper way to recalibrate it is to turn key to runs position without engine running and wait until all light stop blink then hold the accelerator way down for 20 seconds then release slowly but consistent for over 10 seconds then take the key out and wait until all light disappear and remove the key..some say wait for 2 hours before u take it for drive . As for me I leave mind for a over night.
Hey, I've tried this but the ETC light doesn't go off when I have the key in the start position. Is there another way to do the throttle body re-learn?
@@gregamos7987 Use a scan tool to relearn the pedal. AlphaOBD will let you do it. You can have a failing APS (accelerator pedal sensor) or a failing throttle body or both. Since everything is electronic you have to check the fuses, the wiring, and the sensors.

What does this do for the vehicle exactly?
reprograms the throttle body.
It’s to reprogram or help the throttle body relearn it’s position so when you step on the accelerator it allows the right air flow. This is useful but may not fix the issue entirely.

Recalibrated makes it burn less gas, and has more Power. Did same thing to mind and it drive much more silent then when it came from the factory.
