Hi Jeffy, thank you. Excellent list! Loopy Pro is another app. Is it a looper, is it a DAW? It is very versatile and like most good apps, it is a steep learning curve. You can make and customise it for your own needs.
Great Video! Just so you know, Korg Gadget 3 now allows you access each gadget as Auv3. Now you don’t have to be KG3 to use the different gadgets. Definitely worth a try especially in AUM.
Hi Jeffy thanks for the information. I have had Logic for the iPad but have not really tried to use it. I am going to sit down with it and mess with it a bit.
@@KaiWenFranklin thats why im thinking cubasis 3 cos its just a one time payment. Did wanna learn logic but hayho. Beatmaker 3 is meant to be good if your more into drum programming but cubasis better if your recording audio. Think they both do both though.
AUM is my favorite tool. Cubasis added Steinberg’s Halion sounds and some new synths, making it even better. I like tools without subscriptions. Apple was built on great hardware products, not the services model now being promoted by Tim Cook.
@@tom22333 will do. A few reactions to Logic for iPad and discontent with paying a subscription. GarageBand iPad still has a loyal base. What are your thoughts?
@@JeffyG new to the IOS ecosystem. I'm not a big fan of subscription services but have not bought cubasis either. Experimented with aum but at the moment I'm exploring drambo as my main hub.
I want to see an Elektron style app. Drambo comes closest with step or "trig" conditions. It took a few days to get the feel for it but once I found my way around Logic I was convinced and paid the $50. I have been mixing multitrack band recordings on it. Love it for editing automation and I can finally utilize the fab filter bundle I own. The built in mastering is icing on the cake. Running on a 2024 m2 ipad pro and the power is there. Another amazing feature is stem separation. I use it to isolate and learn bass guitar parts.
Logic Pro would be awesome if it wasn’t subscription based so I prefer Cubasis 3 and since we don’t have access to the awesome plugins lol Omnisphere etc. Logic for iPad is not really pro is it?
AUM + Drambo is absurdly powerful. I love being able to use Drambos LFOs, MSEGs and PLocks to modulate 3rd party plugins. There’s nothing else quite like it I’ve found. I’ve tried using logic for iPad, but I find it difficult to use a traditional daw on such a small screen, so I just record in AUM and upload to my Mac.
Agreed. Squeezing in all DAW features has it's compromises, which is why I use my iPad and IOS apps for ideas, then do the heavy production on my Mac with a 32" 4K screen.
Thanks for this inforative views on Ios apps, I always watch your your videos for what's coming to the Ipad. With all these, my 1 terrabyet ipod pro's beginning to look small.
Thanks so much for this video! I play drums and a bit of bass. A few months ago I got a Roland SPD SX and that got me into synths. Would you recommend Logic just for jamming? I have an Akai MPK Mini and I just got a Donner B1.
The Roland Zenbeats is immense. You can load up any synth sound from Rolands entire zencore library and move it onto the ipad using .svz files. That's 50 years of synthesis R&D for $47 AUD a year. The inter OS compatibility a full cloud synching is unbelievable and Korg Electribe Wave is bananas! (its my favourite) If anyone sits down and spends 1 to 2 months on any one of these apps, they would be very surprised at how powerful they are. Yes, you can replace your entire studio wit these two apps and a decent midi keyboard and of course a professional, class compliant audio interface.. I use the Elektron analog heat mkiii. There is something about having two hands and the tactile apple ipad interface to making music fast.
Correction - Cubasis to Cubase Pro was possible long before Logic Pro came to IOS. There's little advantage in going back & forth unless the MAC/PC has the same plugins as the IOS version.
Good video I am always looking for good apps and you mention some that I never thought about. I finally got logic and it does look pretty cool. I think that it’s a lack of imagination that is preventing the switch to mobile devices. I have the new m4 iPad and I am able to run what seem to be an unlimited amount of applications and I have a massive amount of storage plus the screen is really nice. I am not using an interface but I a do have portable dac/amp for my high end headphones and that stuff really makes the music making that much better. It’s a chord mojo 2 with Meze empyrean headphones. Highly recommend having good audio quality.😊
I would rather buy it too! BUT! i have an mac mini with logic Pro X and i tested it on my i pad pro now and the problem is…. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I simply love that i could go everywhere and making music on my small ipad! I love the possibilities that the touch screen gives you, the workflow is simply perfect to me! And i love the fact, that i could start an track or an idea everywhere but if i want to, i could instantly work on logic pro x on my mac! And that’s my problem… i want to buy it but can’t… And because of that i will pay for it because it fits my needs perfectly! I never want to miss logic on ipad ever again since i tested it out. 😅 I don’t even use logic on my mac anymore because its so much fun on the ipad… 💀 But 49€ is really cheap for a year, so i don’t see the problem here…. You could produce with that price 5 years long until you have paid the same like you would pay if you buy logic pro x on a mac! And you will get more and more sounds over time too. So in my opinion it’s completely fair. But i don’t get the point why they don’t let us the option to simply buy it… I mean, they could easily do both. So the people who just wanted to test it out if they like it can subscribe for a month or a year and the people who already know that they like logic simply could buy it! 🤷🏽♂️ But i think that they will give us the option in the future! It’s completely new, so it could happen.
