      I saw an article about Box Elder Bugs and Asian Beetles. They said you will have more bugs if.....your house is isolated (that's us) and it is white, yellow or light blue (also us). I guess this zapper will get a workout throughout the year!! Thanks for watching and commenting Janey!

    Man yeah!!!! This is amazing, my dad just mentioned a zapper today when we were discussing the boxelders!! Gonna check it out for sure! I'm sure you know, but the best killer for the BE bugs, is dawn dish washing soap and water. Does the trick within seconds!! Do not use bug zappers outside. They kill beneficial insects also. I killed a lot of hummingbird moths without knowing what they were until I raised a patch of Hawaiian ginger. The moths were attracted to it. The moths look like hummingbirds and do a good job of pollinating. I still have a zapper like the one in the video but I use it inside to rid of all types of flies including fruit flies, gnats and mosquitos. I found that the lamps don't last long at all. I took mine to my shop and removed the lamps and installed a small screw-in type UV light that I purchased from Lowe's. I had to buy the socket too. It works great. I rid the house of fruit flies that came in with a sack of potatoes from Wal Mart. Now I don't have to buy the expensive tubular lamps that only last less than a month. Maybe I should make a video to show how to do it.

    • @TheOldSwedesFarm
      @TheOldSwedesFarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1
