      @@AutomationGame Thank you for your part in this game. My Dad and I used to design and mess around with all sorts of things (cars, tanks, guns, planes, ships, etc.) on paper and put our ideas through a calculating system to see what the graph results would be. We had a lot of fun doing that. Sadly, cancer took my father a few years ago, so this is like a continuation of our thought experiments.

    This game is wonderful, and so is this tutorial. I hate how little fame this game gets compared to how deep and incredible it is. Love it, and please keep on keeping.

    This looks like such a big improvement, and the refresher is certainly helpful! Over the last few days, I went in and started playing some 4.0 again and wow, it's easy to forget some of the finer details of that campaign over time. Didn't help I was playing it on an old laptop that barely meets the minimum system requirements, and would freeze and crash anytime I opened the engine builder (not the games fault, it's minefor trying to play on the old potato). But damn, this campaign is a lot of fun once you get into it! The new changes are going to be spectacular, I think, and I can't wait to finally play with them!!! Hopefully this update drops soon ;)

      The update dropped at the exact same time as the video :) so you should be able to play this if you're opted into the open alpha version!
      Looking forward to hearing about your experience once you've tried it out. We hope it will address part of the issues people were having with the campaign... it was flying blind for the most part, which is way less fun than making decisions based on having solid information / data in front of you.

    This update actually came through while i was taming my 10 cylinder addiction, with a 1220Hp monster, shoved into a 959 body. I will checkout this update later on.

    Hi there! I finally tried out this new campaign. Played a small game from 91 as a small Gasmenian sport company at hard difficulty (more or less). Firstly, I would to say thank you for continuing developing the game. It is becoming better and better. Now I never went bankrupt and never had to reload the save. The game predicts more or less correctly the amount of cars I need to produce. All in all it’s is now more intuitive. I also really like new car bodies, almost had no bugs with them, except for one in a sandbox. The new engine designer is really nice too, it took a while to realise how to make engines but the tutorials really helped a lot.
    The best thing is the ability to copy fixtures between different trims. It really helps a lot to update the design of the model range without removing and adding new trims. Really helps a lot. Even thou I discovered this feature in 10 years before the end.
    Thou I still have the same question which I had last time. When will there be a proper statistic of the campaign at least after it ends. It’s nice that I sold 1 million cars, but I don’t want to know only top 3 trims. I really wish to all the statistic to all models and their trims. If I could also watch the sales statistic per every year or even mouth it would be really cool. As well The finances, expenses and revenue, not just for last 10 years or so, but for the whole campaign.
    So may I ask, if these features or something like that will ever be implemented into the game? If so, how many approximately updates will be realised before this features if ever will be implemented?
    Again thank you really much for your work. Really like this game

      Glad you've enjoyed the campaign so far! We are continually working on how it's presented to the player, definitely. Your idea of having a history of a company's finances, as well as other stats, might be interesting to look in to...no promises that we can even make it work, but it's intriguing nonetheless!

    Played the light campaign like 1.5 years ago and got completely lost, now I've spent a few hours in the campaign and it's much simpler to understand and so much fun, Cheers

    There’s an issue with the bounds of the Manta body rework(unlocks in 69). I tried making a 3 cylinder hatch on the shortest wheelbase version and it said it was 5m long, which meant that the car weighed 1000 kg despite using reasonable choices. I hope you guys look into this

    I've just picked up Automation again after a couple of years, and I'm back in love with the game! Though sometimes I don't want to invest too much time into the fixtures design - I wonder whether there is some way people could upload / download fixture patterns on cars, a bit like how Forza does it for car paint jobs? The game would give you the option to create your own or to use an existing design from the cloud, ranked by popularity. Much like the way when you change the body type (to a wagon, for example) it rebuilds the car you have with the fixtures from the cloned model, it would splat the fixtures on whatever morphs you have to the car and give you a starting point, or maybe it also imports the morphs from the saved model in the cloud... I wonder whether this could just streamline the process a lot for players who want to focus on the tycoon element of the game, and also would also create more "purpose" for those spending a lot of time on a great looking fixture build, knowing that others will appreciate it and use it! It's just a thought. Keep up the great work Killrob and team!

    is there a way to create a limited-run 'special edition' or anniversary variant of a model which itself isnt meant to be profitable but as a marketing scheme? so only 100 would be built but it would drum up interest in the brand. something like the morris minor million or the porsche 914 bumblebee/creamsicle im thinking. if there isnt i think that might be a fun roleplay aspect to add

    So both this tutorial and the 4.0 said that it's assumed we know how to set up the car. What if we don't? Is there a good tutorial for that somewhere?

      The NA engine calculation revamp comes next, as well as bugfixing for the campaign update; I imagine it'll be a month, give or take a week or two, to get that working and integrated. Then after that comes sequential turbos, which should be sort of a similar timeframe, all things being equal. Of course, none of that's set in stone, but they are coming soon regardless!

    So when I go to testing, and then click the markets tab, my game looks completely different. There's no purple circles in the boxes and no option to set price and see how that affects market sales as you were showing at 2:25....

    I have tried to campaign, first attempt: couldn't figure out what was going on, restarted after only four cars, score 20.
    second attempt: ongoing, earned 500 Milion in first 20 years, provided to loose 1 billion in five years, slowly recovering but still failing miserably with less than a billion $ inba total run of 35 years, (started at 1 billion) still confused at why it has the same engine being build twice, and the second one has no car attached to it.

      Campaign Mode runs from 1946 to 2020, though you can start your campaign in any year you'd like.
