Take a gold pan and pan out the dirt where you found the jewelry if the stones are missing. That gives you a good chance to find them, especially on rings.

So far, we know the man was a miner, the wife may have been Scottish, and there was a boy child. I looked at PA census and learned that the man's occupation may have been noted. Also saw that there were mining accidents. The WWII may have claimed the man's life. Such a beautiful site! Often wonder if you might come up on a grave site. Be safe out there.😊

I think that piece of iron you find was a wedge for attaching things like sledgehammer heads or pickaxe heads to a handle. I'm from Armstrong Co. So I enjoy watching your videos

Very likely an undisturbed home site. A victim of the depression or possibly a death? No doubt a miner, I think the pick is an excellent find. Even if it is a chunk of iron.

Down here in Australia that chain could have been off an old laundry plug or for the overhead water container for an old flush toilet.

I use a wood grass whip in areas with high weeds. It's hard work, but it gives an opportunity to hit sites in the summer. Love your videos.

I think you may be right. Site was gone in the 1940s aerial photo. Only the barn was left.
