    Hey guys, some nice finds this time around, Shawn that was a pretty clean IHP for being that old, I think that Blue striped object might have been a Barrett of sorts for a Woman/girls hair, just a thought. Anyway, great video... Happy Treasure Hunting!!!

    Shawn, you mentioned that people might look at you funny for being excited about finding an old spoon. That says a lot about the hobby and why so many channels have small subscriber numbers. Even though as detectorists our number is small, we make up for it with passion. You both had excellent finds today, representative of the time period when people were doing things on that site.

    • @detectingpa8968
      @detectingpa8968  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep! I’m thrilled when I find a spoon! lol. A lot of non detectorists think I’m silly for being excited about it. That spoon holds its own story. It fed the mouths of countless people. Became a toy for a child whose family couldn’t afford toys of that time. Well, I’ll continue to display the spoons I find regardless. 😁😁

    I have a late 1700s-early 1800s site I hit. No info whatsoever that I can find of anyone living there. Lots of good things come out of the ground. I hit another site that was mid 1800s to early 1900s well documented etc. I found an arsenal of shotgun stamps and one button. Amazing how that works.

    That was amazing, Shawn & Jerry!!!!!!! It's not only amazing to see those incredible relics come out of the ground in the middle of nowhere but hearing the back story & envisioning that little boy digging in the yard with that spoon, makes it a very special experience. That surface find is amazing, Shawn, what is that 200 yrs old?😳That was an amazing repel Jerry 😳 Thank you both for all your hard work making these extraordinary videos 💖💖

    The blue striped piece could be a female's hair bow/barrette.

    • @detectingpa8968

    Could the little hinge thing be a fastener for hosery? Like to hold up women's stockings?

  • @scottnyc6572

    The brass gas valve should have a patent date on it somewhere.

    • @detectingpa8968
      @detectingpa8968  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We will have to check and see. I know normally they are from the turn of the century (1900) or so. Which wouldn’t make sense for that site.

  • @jeannemackenzie4404
    @jeannemackenzie4404 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The little hinge could have been on a little wooden box~like a jewelry box. Just a guess.

    • @detectingpa8968
      @detectingpa8968  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Jeanne! That’s a really good guess. It very well could be. Wonder what that little box held? Wish we knew!

    The hinged thingie is a latch for an old suitcase, there would have been another devise that would unlock it

    I just subscribed to your channel pretty cool stuff you find . I know of a place that you should check out if you haven't already. In some of the videos you say your from western pa. I'm from about 65 miles east of Pittsburgh. Originally. If your interested in the place I'd like to see you metal detect let me know and I'd be happy to tell you. It's a old town that no longer exists.
