  • Probably my final look at Robert Fletchers paper mill that was frozen in time 20 years ago when the business went into administration. This is a look at what the flattened mill looks like now compared with its pre-demolished look. Including aerial footage of what the site looks like now.

Sadly so, pretty similar to me, just wandered around on my own a few times too, whole silent factory to myself. Never found a shirt, only ties (which I left as I’ve got enough clutter at home), probably regretting that now 😂

Absolutely brilliant video this Baz. I was just expecting drone footage but the fact you walk round the site really made my day. Amazing to see all the familiar bits of machinery amongst the mangled mess. I must get back up there myself for a farewell look, any sign of security?

Thanks. I had to go for a look!
Sad to see all the bits o remember from the inside, relating them to the rooms they were once in. I was there just under an hour and didn’t see anyone until I left fortunately, then I saw a guard out on patrol. So I guess just lucky timing.

I would imprison the people who allowed this demolition. Unless, of course, they want to build a luxury complex for illegal immigrants.

got to say the concrete and foundations that this place will have will make the demolition profit not worth it even the scrap metal wont cover it c machine design will be meters and meters into the hill side and floor

The cost covering/profit will come from all the homes built on there surely? It’s in a really rural location close to Manchester so I doubt prices will be that cheap!

If they've got planning permission to build houses the owners will sit on it until the price goes up. They always do. The government gives you 3 years to start building after planning permission is granted. There are exceptions sometimes.
